The artery is a cool spot at The LAB Anti-Mall to find some art, pop-ups, or events like the clothing swaps eco now hosts there!

Love the store but service 0/5…read more My friend and I had stopped by this shop after taking pictures at Booth by Bryant to take a look around. This shop is very nicely organized and aesthetic, however, the lady at the cash register who might be the owner did not greet us or anything, and seemed very bothered by us just walking in. There are some colorful crates in the back part of the store that my friend wanted to take pictures with, so I asked the cashier first if it would be okay to do so, since I had noticed that she already looked upset, and she said "yes and thank you for asking first since some people don't even ask" and I had also purchased a $40 hat prior to asking. I take a few pictures of my friend and as we're looking at them some customers walk in and are taking a look around and we scooted to the corner so they can shop. As soon as they left the cashier comes up to us with so much attitude saying "you guys need to get out when customers come in, if you guys are doing this they can't shop." when we literally were no where in the way of the customers. The last thing my friend and I wanted was to make her upset, which is why we asked permission first and purchased an item so we could stay longer in the store. But, the lack of customer service and passive aggressive tone was what makes us not want to shop here anymore. A simple "if customers come in I would appreciate if you guys step aside for them to shop" (which we did either way) in the beginning when I first asked for permission would've been nice instead of telling us to "get out" after I had already purchased something.

So recently I just proposed to my fiance, then girlfriend. Prior to the proposal, I was looking…read morefor a space where I can bring my idea to life. I knew an art gallery type of setting would be perfect for what I had planned for. I ended up visiting a few gallery's in Santa Ana but it was Great Over Good that just yelled out to me. The space was perfect, as it had multiple rooms, an area where you can sit and eat in the back and even had a kitchen. But what really made the decision for me was there big white exhibit room. If you have an idea or imagination this room is perfect to bring it to life. The room was wide open with white walls and had many outlets. Also would of been prefect to project something on the wall, but I neglected to do so during the proposal. More than the space, the thing I really appreciated was Naadine, who owns and runs Great Over Good. I can't say enough great things about her. Throughout the entire process, which took about a month to setup, Naadine kept in constant communication with me and even helped setup the main proposal room. There was no way I could of pulled off the proposal without her. Naadine even played a part during my proposal, which she acted perfectly lol During my search for a venue, I noticed other similar types of venues charged almost double what Great Over Good offered me. Not once, did Naadine ever reject my crazy ideas but completely embraced them. She even came in and helped me during her days off, which is something I would never forget. She never once asked for more money than what was agreed upon. After the proposal, we had left a mess, with bunch of the candles spilling wax all over the floor. Instead of asking us to pay for the mess or stay longer to scrape it off, Naadine told us to go and enjoy our engagement. I even offered to come in the next day to help clean up, but she said it was totally fine with a smile :) I can go on and on about my entire positive experience with Great Over Good, but you really have to try it out yourselves. If you're looking for a venue / gallery type of setting to host your next event / mixer. I guarantee Great Over Good will not disappoint. Thanks Naadine for all your help :)

I did not recognize the name Chuck Jones automatically so I walked in as the doors were propped open in welcome and started to browse. I instantly saw a lot of Marvin the Martian, Bugs Bunny stuff and was wondering why they were carrying so much of that theme. The fella working inside greeted me behind the desk and told me a bit about the gallery - that it is owned by the estate/family of Chuck Jones and it has been open and owned there for many years. That he is the artist behind those drawings and many others and they feature several other artists inside the gallery. They have some moderately priced pieces around the front and middle of the gallery and at the back they have a more rare collection of pieces, some of which were upwards of $50k by Chuck Jones himself and other celebrated artists. A neat feature was a Chuck Jones sketch of Wylie Coyote on the back door in marker - with a photo of him doing it live at an event to demonstrate his talent/technique.

He is a huge fan! Reading the reviews ahead of time, we knew that there would be no photography inside and that it may be just a quick look since we obviously were not there to purchase artwork (much of which is in the low thousands). When we arrived my son told of his admiration of Chuck Jones and we assured the gentleman that we knew about no photography being allowed. He was really nice to us and we were able to explore the whole gallery. I did get their card so we have the option to purchase later. They do have smaller prints that seem to start around $100. The artwork included some prints by other artists, too. Namely Charles Schultz, Dr. Seuss, and Fabio Napoleoni. This gallery is definitely a place for cartoon art fans to visit. If I could afford it, we would most definitely purchase from here, as well. They also can ship your art home for you. Definitely check it out, but be respectful about the gallery not allowing pictures being taken inside. There are also copyright issues to consider. Many museums these days don't allow it either, so it isn't any different. We just took a few pictures outside afterwards standing in front of the sign above the gallery door to commemorate our experience. We would both love to return some day.
