I found Menakshee Designs on Yelp and scheduled a call with Srujana. Srujana couldn't have been nicer and agreed to help me even though I only gave her a week's notice. She worked diligently throughout the few days we had to get my cap finished for graduation. In the end, my cap looked beautiful and I received many compliments. My family and extended family loved the design and we plan to have my cap framed now after Srujana's beautiful work. I highly recommend Srujana and plan to use her services again in the future.

However, I ended up frustrated after reaching out to various calligraphers with no success. I ran into roadblock after roadblock, as Malayalam is not an incredibly widespread language and most calligraphers A. don't take commissions in languages that use different scripts than English, or B. are willing to try it, but for a much higher price and with no guarantee that the finished product will turn out as expected. After months of searching, I was referred to Menakshee Designs by another calligrapher who had been unable to take the commission, but said that Srujana may be able to help me. A few weeks later, I had two completed prints that were miles above anything I thought I would be able to have done. Srujana did such an amazing job. The customer service and attention to detail was astounding throughout the whole process, from ensuring that the commission was completed, shipped out, and received on time (even when it was on short notice) to making thoughtful suggestions like including a specific type of flower significant in Indian weddings - something that I wouldn't have even considered! Through every step of the way, she was communicative and offered me options so that she was sure the work was exactly what I wanted. My in-laws (and grand-in-laws!) were thrilled when I gave them the finished product, and they have gotten nothing but compliments on the framed prints that they now have hung up as a centerpiece in their living room. This was six months ago, so this review is much later than it should have been (the months after a wedding can be hectic!), but I wanted to do my part to support and draw attention to this amazing artist. I would not hesitate to urge anyone who is looking for amazing customer service and outstanding results to give Menakshee Designs your business, and I will be doing the same to every member of my wife's large family once wedding season starts in a few months!! Thank you for everything, Srujana - I'm looking forward to having the opportunity to work with you again.

Absolutely atrocious work done on a…read morebridesmaid dress... so bad that I had to buy a NEW dress days before traveling for a destination wedding. She told me it would be done within a week - I had to follow up with her to see if it was done over a week later and then she happened to not be there when I picked it up so had no option to try it on. As soon as I got home I looked at the work and texted her right away expressing my extreme disappointment and asked for a refund. She completely ruined the slit, the stitching was terribly crooked, hem was uneven, and she created a double seam in the skirt line - the most prominent part of the dress. After going back and forth on text she refunded half of the $185 I was charged - refusing to acknowledge how bad it was and at one point said it was a cheaply made dress so it was the best she could do. All I asked for was a full refund given that I had to buy a new dress and rush shipping. Everyone who has seen the photos has been APPALLED - including the saint who was able to turn around a quick hem on the new dress. I was out hundreds of dollars with the entire ordeal not to mention the stress the whole situation caused. Unable to share photos but they are included on my Google Review.

*Please also see attached photos*…read more After attempting to resolve this matter privately with Accurate Alterations without success, I'm sharing my experience publicly. On December 12, I brought seven garments to Accurate Alterations for alterations and paid in total $113. When the items were returned, while some garments were done well, I was dissatisfied with the results on several pieces. Specifically, in my opinion: -- One pair of jeans had an uneven hem and did not sit straight when worn. -- One pair of joggers no longer had the original taper, and the cuffs appeared inconsistently stitched. Additionally, they no longer feel like they fit like joggers but skinny pants instead. -- Another pair of joggers had similar issues but also interior stitching removed that was not restored. -- One pair of dress pants had an uneven hem and puckering at the bottom, and the original taper was not maintained. These garments were new and unworn prior to the alterations. Because of the nature of the work already done and my prior experience, further alterations would not be possible without significantly shortening the pants. I have reached out to Accurate Alterations multiple times since January 12th to discuss a resolution but we have yet to reach one that is mutually satisfactory. I'm seeking advice on what would be considered reasonable next steps. As I see it, I have a few options. In good faith I could try one more time to have them reexamine the work and try to fix it or I can seek reimbursement. Reimbursement could be a refund of alteration costs ($113), that amount plus a complete (~$100) replacement cost, or another fair solution. This post reflects my personal experience and opinion only. - Please advise.

The day I met Tim was the same day that I waited for my room at the Sheraton to be ready. Big convention in town. I called him and told him my situation. We decided to meet at the Sheraton not knowing that my room won't be ready for hours. I updated him and told him if he's ok to do my face at the bar. He showed up. Armed with his magical tools that easily transformed my face based on my request: a SUGAR SKULL! We looked at his portfolio and decided on one that caught my eye the most. He's professional. Fast. Respectful and thorough! He's cool and basically adjusted to my situation and worked on me right there at the bar with people watching. I love my Halloween face. In fact, I won the first price that night! A high breed version of Gogo and Dia de Los Muertos! He is mobile and has one of those vehicles that is loaded with all that you need to transform you into something or someone that you want to be; right there in his vehicle. Very reasonable price to boot. I paid $45+ tip. He takes CC's and uses a square for that. He's worth it! Ten years shows in his awesome work of art. I'm already thinking about next year's Halloween or any excuse at all to transform myself into something out of this world! Thanks Tim!

Avoid this company at all costs and find a trusted local plumber instead…read more I have roots in my drain, so every year I have to get them cleaned out. I've used Elite once before, and I decided to use them again. But this last time when they showed up, I scheduled what should have been a simple $79 annual pipe cleaning. Instead, it immediately turned into a hard-sell pitch for an $8,500 trench-digging and pipe replacement -- a major job that might be needed someday, but certainly not urgently like they claimed. (Mind you, they didn't even guarantee that this would fix all my problems. They said there might need to be more jobs that get done after this $8,500 job. ) They used sales tactics to try to scar me and make me think that I would only be getting this price for one day. I declined MULTIPLE TIMES because I wanted a second opinion, and I'm very glad I did. ALSO - Despite paying the $79, they didn't even clear the roots from the drain -- they just told me it was "too overrun" and then pushed the upsell anyway. After that, I received phone calls from them twice a day for a week trying to get me to schedule the expensive work. And Elite kept calling me. Trying to see what they could do to "earn my business". Eventually I got into a long discussion with one of their salesmen, and long story short, they talked me into considering them for a hydrojetting job. - Which would clear my roots, and they could then decide how bad my pipes were and what kind of further service I would need. Which they quoted me $1,600 for. Eventually, I had another trusted local plumber take a look. And they confirmed I had roots and a few other minor problems. But the roots were definitely the biggest problem that are causing my backups. and he also suggested hydro jetting done by his friend. So I scheduled him and he charged me a fraction of Elite Rooters 1,600 dollar price tag. I was blown away by how simple the hydrojetting process was, because by that price point, Elite told me I thought it was such a complex process. Bottom line: This company uses high-pressure tactics, inflated pricing, and artificially urgent sales pitches. Don't be fooled by the $79 "special." Hire a reputable local plumber -- you'll save money and avoid the corporate upsell games.
