Trekking across town to attend my nephew's 1st birthday, it was our first time at Lollipop's and we…read moreloved it! Not being familiar, we found it a bit hard to find but once we found out it was on Level 3 next to all the cinemas and games, we were set! The play centre is well laid out with a separate area for toddlers so they don't get knocked over by the older kids and there is an awesome foam ball room with canons and vacuums that suck up the balls to different sections ready to launch. There's even an awesome pirate ship ride inside the venue! On first impression the centre is clean and well maintained and the staff were very attentive especially amongst all the birthday excitement. The staff were loud and clear when giving instructions and made sure all the kids had drinks topped up and birthday cake. Both the kids and adults were fed with sandwiches, fruits and hot food and you if you're after something a little more special you can also order some desserts from the window display. I think we've found another new place to catch up with our mummy friends! :)

The stock is a mixture of chic decoration type items like photo frames, flower vases. wall fixtures etc. coming in a range of modern patterns and colours there is lots to choose from. I wandered around the store trying to refrain for purchasing items from myself! Finally I choose a large white sculpture that spelled the word "peace," the letter a had been coloured in a soft blue, it looked elegant and modern and had a nice price attached too. The store itself isn't overly large, but I would definitely recommend a look through Universal if your stuck for gift ideas or even wanting something special for yourself.

Okay, they also have a few other discount items available, but their main focus is being a party supply store, and you can certainly get a decent amount of supplies here for whatever reason you have for throwing a party (not as if you actually need a reason, but you know what I mean).

I purchased a homeware product for myself though and when I got it home it just wasn't right for the space. I had spoken with the assistant when I was purchasing and she had said that I could bring it back if it wasn't right. I returned the product the next day, expecting that I could get a refund. I was told however that they won't refund any products - only a store credit. Whilst the woman I spoke to when I purchased it did not specifically say I could have a refund, it definitely wasn't made clear that it would only be a store credit. The assistant I spoke to when I was trying to return the product was also quite rude during our entire interaction. Given they are a homewares store and that some of their products really need to be placed in situ to see if they are really right, their store policy seems quite unfair. In any case, if that is the store policy they wish to enforce then they could make it a lot clearer before purchase. A small sign near the register doesn't really suffice. For this reason I won't personally be shopping there again as it's a deal breaker for me. It is a real shame though as they have the potential to be great.

Service was a bit mixed. On one hand, we enjoyed the white glove service that's commensurate with the price paid for the dinner. We also appreciate being brought through the wine cellar on our way out to get a glimpse of their collection. On the other hand, the dinner took waaaayyyy longer than it needed to at 4.5 hours; there were long gaps between courses. At the end of the dinner, we were tired and also feeling bad for our friends who had to get their babysitter to stay much longer than originally expected.

They have a bar connected to the restaurant which is separated into another room. The views from the restaurant was spectacular, making the whole experience much more enjoyable and romantic. The variety of foods on offer made from local Australian ingredients added a special touch especially for those who don't live in Australia. On top of that we got the wine pairing to go with our meals. We were definitely full after all the meals had come out, and it made it that much more memorable for my American fiancé with the views and the top notch service.
