My experience here for the first time has been really good. I had their "Bar Burger" and it was pretty delicious, a little greasy but thats nothing new specially its got bacon in there. The vibe here is really nice. I dont really see this place as a bar.. It's more like a restaurant with bar. Nevertheless i like the vibe in here. I believe I have only been here once after I started yelp. This place has a great feel. Never been here for breakfast. But after work for a couple of beers and a with some fried jalapeños. It works for me. A must try. They put them in their quesadilla. This place is not a fancy restaurant. But the service here is top notch. Everyone has their favorite to get. Went out to "The Bar" the other day with a few friends. The fried frog legs were cooked perfectly and my blackened fish tacos were also good. This is decent place to go have a beer or two over a casual dinner. I wouldnt say the crowd is rough, but I also didnt see a suit in the whole joint. Out of towner here. On a spontaneous trip to Midland with my friend to visit their fam/friends. This was our first stop after our arrival. We sat on the patio, which I prefer, coming from AZ, and Kelly was our girl. She is awesome. Friendly, attentive, ready to refill my Shinerbock. Is there more to want? The food was good. Had business here in midland from ft worth and a lot of these places are sketchy and have horrible reviews. This place is perfect if you wanna chill and have a beer. Bartenders are on point and very welcoming. Make you feel like you've know them for years. Will be returning while I finish my business here. Lunch- If I lived here, I'd eat here every day. This place is historic to the oil patch. I'm betting plenty of business has been done here over the years. The ham and swiss was great. I had "the bar" burger. It was pretty good and it was cooked perfectly. Had two cheeses and bacon on top and came with a side of fries and bacon on top. It was juicy and flavorful. One downside to the place is you can smoke inside. While I was eating a lady at the next table lit up a cigarette and it interfered with me enjoying the taste of the burger. Not sure why excuses were necessary tonight from Manager. Got a drink while waiting for others. Sat there 30 minutes with no refills. I finally got up and asked the bartender for another drink. Had to ask for my waitress to take order. Had to continuously go to bar for more drinks. Finally, after our meal, another waitress helped out. She said our waitress has personal issues. Well leave them at the door or don't come in. I was a waitress for years and you fake your way thru it if you want tips. Our waitress did not say one word to us. The manager said you were taken care of by others. No we were not. Had to ask for order to be taken, had to go to bar to order drinks. Nothing was done unless we asked. When your bill is $120.00 you should get half ass service. Worse experience ever. Should be ashamed of how management handled it and quality of service. Spend thousands taking clients out. I did not eat here. It was a Monday night. Having said that, this place was nothing special...just another townie bar. The four people in the bar on Monday night left just after we got here. perhaps it's busier on the weekend. The decor is full of animal heads (think hunting lodge) and autographs from mostly football players. There is a feeling of Bob's Country Bunker (Blues Brothers) meets Animal House. Nothing like the stench of stale wet cigarets upon entering for breakfast on a beautiful Saturday morning. The non-smoking section is in the back where you are pack in like sardines. Coldest beer in Midland with free popcorn and peanuts! The food is surprisingly really really good. And the service is probably the best of any bar around. Your glass will never be empty. You can always expect the manager or the owner to come check on you too, just to make sure you're doing okay! The atmosphere is great and everyone is super friendly. read more

The Bar is one of my favorite bars in town! I especially love their patio area on warm summer nights...especially to avoid smelling like an ashtray when you leave! LOL Inside is a bit smoky if it's crowded. The only gripe I have is the drinks are a bit pricy. If you stick with beer it's good. The manager is really good! Great place to eat drink and smoke. Chicken fry is recommended as well as the patty melt. Outdoor seating. Very spacious, lots of seating and good service for such a large setup. Drinks a little on the weak side so 6 point Texas beer is your best bet. Margaritas are tasty but a little lite on the liquor. Waitress was very attentive and good with suggestions. The place was pretty busy for lunch, it took a while before we got our food and even the check. I had the philly sandwich and was pretty good; the meat was seasoned well. This was my favorite place in Midland. Great brunch (get there early, it gets crowded), amazing bloody marys, and a cool atmosphere of Midland stuff. I love this place but the service is questionable. The atmosphere is not very Midland-like which is ironic because it's a staple here. The food was excellent. I had the chicken and waffles, my wife had the blackened chicken. Both were delicious. We went during brunch so it was busy. However, we put our name in and waited. Management needs to open their eyes and start caring about the product they produce and start catering to the loyal customers. So I've been here twice for brunch and once for dinner. Every time has been absolutely wonderful. The service is fantastic and the food is even better. On Brunch: I got the chicken and waffles once and the eggs benedict another time. I will definitely be ordering both again! The chicken and waffles were more savory than I am used to but it was a happy change to have gravy on the side. A great highlight was also the quite large mimosa's that are a perfect ration of bubbles and oj. On Dinner: I had the best burger I've had in Midland so far. It was just a classic normal burger but it reminded me of home. It was so juicy and not over cooked aka perfect... not to mention the house made potato chips! We sat in the bar area and as we were about to leave around 9:30 a band came on the stage! We stayed for a little while to see them and they were a hoot, very good. The Bar.... Nice atmosphere and TX style. The catfish is phenomenal that they fry up. Their fillets are Crispy and not dry at all. The Bar is the only place in West TX I personally will ever eat catfish at. But what I truly love is their nice Cherry Mimosa concoction. House Champagne & fresh Orange juice with a splash of grenadine complimented by two cherry's. You couldn't ask for any better than a Cherry Mimosa on Sat. Morning after a long night on the town.
