every time I come in they change the prices on me even after confirming there website page prices. Asked about $30 as advertised. They said great. Before I was done raised price by $5. Then said from now on it will be $40so paid $35 over web prices And confirmed before we started. I was in need of a haircut and I had been to The Barber of Choix once before. This time though the staff looked at me two of them starting talking about me, then the one lady walked over and asked me what was my weight. I told her That I heard them talking about me and that I had been a customer before and she said I needed to tell her my weight, because it was a safety issue. She said they did not want me to fall through the chair and damage it. I will not go back, I cannot believe that a business could do that to somebody. I am disgusted. read more

Very nice, clean, professional shop. Pleasant friendly atmosphere. On most days when I go it is mostly men, although I think they schedule the major women wash/cuts/perms at certain times a week when men aren't there. Gladis is one of the few in East Valley who does razor cuts. She is very personable/nice. Scheduling is easy and they usually can take walk-ins fairly quickly. I usually can reserve a time within the same day or next day. Razor cuts aren't super cheap (but cheaper than the hair stylists in other places), but they also do regular cuts at a competitive price, especially on certain days. The haircut could've definitely been worse however, the service was quite poor. I was in and out in no time and it definitely shows the edges around my ears are uneven. When it came time to the top of my head, she move the chair and me sideways, so I can't see what's happening from the mirror. The barber freehand the top of my head. I noticed she went down further on the crown of my head. On the way out I asked about the $15 newcomer special sign on the door and was told "It's for walk-in's only and your hair doesn't fall like that." I can kinda understand the reasoning so I didn't care to push it. However I was charged more that their website listing. read more

Don't go here. This place is a huge rip off and not a TRUE barber shop. I got a regular medium shin fade and 4 on top. She didn't use a straight razor which was fine. She did okay on the back but the sides not blended so well. Also the phone rang 4 times so that's four times she stopped (not short phone calls either) then some lady Martha came in to buy something. On top of getting a shitty hair cut it took forever and at the end when it was time to pay they said it was $28......WTF!!! Last week I was at the shop across the street they gave me a way better cut and service with a massage for $16. I'll never be back. This place is nice and well kept up but the service is ASS and the barbers are ASS. At least that one lady lol I usually tip my barbers $10 but I left $5. I'll never be back. Don't go here leave this for the people that don't know what a real shop is supposed to be like. read more

My kids have gone to Cool Cuts since they were little because we had found two great ladies to cut their hair. Once our beloved hairstylists moved on, we were at a loss for where we should try next. The Yelp reviews for The Barber of Choix were good, so we gave it a try. Lucky for us, we got in to see Gladis. She does a fantastic job, is very personable, and always tries to fit you in if she can when you request last-minute appointments, Of course, you can plan ahead too!
