I have a Filipino Street Dogs named Rex who we got a in January of 2022. As a first time dog owner in Canada, I knew I would like for Rex to have the proper training and also would like for him to have a place to go to for sleep overs and play dates. Thankfully I found Parkers Pet Care as it is close to our place. I inquired about puppy school and day care with Parker's and they were very prompt and professional yet personable in their responses. Rex came in for a trial day to see how he would react or adjust to a new environment. At 3 months old and only having him for 1 month, he was very timid and scared of every new surroundings. Yet Parkers took him in for a trial day. Unfortunately he failed his trial day. But the owner Andrew was great and gave Rex a second chance. A second chance that he needed. Andrew took Rex with him and went on with his daily business meetings with rex beside him. Come pick up time and Andrew told us that Rex did great and that Rex has been welcomed into the Parker Pet Care Family. Rex then needed puppy training. Miss Landis who leads the puppy school at Parkers has been nothing but spectacular with training Rex. This is not like any other dog training classes where the owner has to come in for training as well. It really is a "school" format, drop off your furry child and pick him/her up when school is done and then do the homework with them. How convenient and amazing is that!? Miss Landis along with her crew of wonderful people have done wonders with Mr. Rex or Sexy Rexy and helped us bring out the playful and jolly spirit inside of Rex. He has done puppy school and intermediate school there. Both great experience. Also would like to thank Ms. Jade who also has been a part of Rex's training. The wonderful ladies working the front end. All lovely and beautiful and always so welcoming to both animals and hoomans. I wish I could name them all but trust me when I say every person in Parkers is awesome. They show Rex soooo much love that at one point, Rex has gone from needing encouragement to be taken to the back, to Rex being so comfortable with them that he leads them to the back! Oh, and also the awesome staff working the background, those I've never met or dealt with directly but ensures Rex has a jolly ol time with them, thank you very much. The pictures we get during his stay there says he is loving his time there. We also really love and appreciate the staff going the extra mile with their themed events/pictures. Also love the new renovations in terms of play areas! Sadly we have to move outside of Ontario that we won't get to take Rex to his favourite play place. During his last stay, the staff really showed him Soo much love (see his IG post/photo). But rest assured Rex will be back!

This was Liam's third stay at the North York location, and it will be his last…read more On his first stay, I dropped off a healthy, clean dog and received an email the next day saying he had developed dried eye discharge, which staff had cleaned. I gave the benefit of the doubt. On his second stay, the same eye issue occurred again and was initially dismissed as dust. When I picked him up, his bark was strained and barely audible. I was told he had been barking while watching other dogs. After a few days of rest at home, his voice returned -- but it raised concerns about supervision and the environment. During his third stay, I was contacted and told he was limping while I was out of the country. Concerned, I arranged for my veterinary assistant to examine him the following morning. She confirmed there was nothing wrong with his back legs. He has always had a distinctive hop in his gait, which is not a new development. In addition, I have observed frequent staff turnover and a lack of organization. When I picked him up (after returning from Europe 14 days earlier), three staff members were sitting in the lobby on their phones. His belongings were returned in a disorganized manner, one coat was initially missing, and the bottom of his treat bag was damp. I also received a message stating that another dog was mounting him but that he "sets his boundaries well." As a paying client, I expect consistent supervision, cleanliness, and professionalism -- not reassurance that my small dog can manage situations himself. Repeated issues that only occur while he is in their care, combined with the lack of accountability and organization I have observed, have made it clear that this facility is not suited for my dog. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this location.

The Bloor Animal hospital has a very convenient location, literally at the base of Jane along Bloor so no matter where you're coming from there is ample public transportation and Green P parking lots close by. Entering the clinic, we found the reception staff to be very friendly and helpful, however, it's hard not to be friendly when you walk in carrying an 8 week old French Bulldog puppy. On your first visit with a puppy they schedule you both for a puppy information session where a vet-tech gives you some great tips, tricks and things to be aware of in the first year of a puppies life. That first visit also comes with a lot of pamphlets, some free puppy treats, a huge bag of puppy food and few other trinkets. The vet that saw us was very friendly as well and was great with our dog. He was so comfortable around her that he passed out (to be fair, he passes out every 15 minutes but I'll give her the credit on this one ha ha). We like this location for our little guy and we're looking forward to our future visits and check ups.

He's very anxious about getting nail trims due to bad experiences and Caley was amazing. Although Skully was squirming a lot during the nail trim, all of his nails got trimmed and we even got pointers in the type of brushes to get to deal with his heavy shedding coat! Thanks Caley!

I found Metro Dog Stop after the daycare my boyfriend and I had been using for his dog closed down…read more They made us feel super comfortable that our dog was going to be well taken care of and safe by doing a really thorough pre-screen. The attention to detail, safety, and socialization was really impressive. It was also great that we could use them as-needed. When we were calling around to other places, alot of them had contracts and packages you had to buy to use them. Plus the rates at Metro Dog Stop were really reasonable. My boyfriend only has his dog every few weeks or so, so this was perfect! They also have a really great pick-up & delivery service! We found that out once our work schedules changed and taking the dog to daycare in the morning became impossible. But they have walkers that will come get your dog and bring them to and from the daycare, which was a lifesaver! And over the summer our dog picked up kennel cough at a park, and we were worried about him not being able to go to daycare while we were at work. But they arranged for a walker to come over and do private walks with him during the day, so he still got out and had some company! The customer service is really great and they really care about the dogs. The staff have all been fantastic, our dog comes home happy & tired from playing all day when he's there, and best of all he's always super excited to go there...which is the best evidence of all that it's a great place.

Two of his nails were cut so short that I noticed they were bleeding when I took him for a walk and wiped his feet when he got home. Very Disappointed with the grooming.

He has mild mobility issues which comes with age and the owner was trying to get him to follow her on his lead down the stairs?? Watching, I reminded her that he is deaf and nearly blind. So she carried him down. Within a couple of hours I received notification he was ready. In the past, his groom took 3 hours. We are fairly regular customers. On arrival, I paid the full amount and tipped before seeing him. At a glance, he looked good! I did not notice his ears were not even touched until we got home. About 90 minutes had lapsed. So I called Nice Diggz and left a voice message advising that my dog's ears were missed and for someone to kindly return my call so we can arrange to correct that. No one returned my call so on Thursday morning I rang the groomer and recited my reason for calling, stating I had left a message from Saturday afternoon. She immediately responded saying there was no voicemail from me! No apology. Just defensive. This was not the first time some part of his grooming was missed either. The time before we picked him up he still had build up from tear ducts under his eyes. He is a white Cockapoo with brown markings around his eyes and back. He has many skin tags which scab and fall off. I bath him weekly at home to maintain his back end. He's had the skin tags with a little more each year since he was about 7. Previously he'd been returned to me clean looking not with the a few of the scabs debris visible. It looks unfinished. It had occurred the three times. I had been taking my dog there since he was two. Different owner at the time; one who I found personable. I know that everyone can't be the same but I won't tolerate rudeness be it blunt or insinuated. At this point I was wondering if I would bring my dog here again. Our relationship is transactional. In my opinion the service has really declined. The hair cuts are fine but the last few visits, the service as requested was incomplete. If you're not sure you'd have to ask seeing as you don't keep notes or have the same groomer doing the session. What was also missing on Thursday was an apology for the inconvenience. I asked the owner if there were new hires. She said no. I let her know that I felt the service had declined as we had to come back and I usually get a lift from my friend or taxi over. She said she had no notes of any of the incidents I mentioned. I was in disbelief. Like a hair salon, how would you keep track or be on top of and physical changes or incidents with your clientele? Hello!! Because nothing was documented does not mean it didn't happen! I sensed she was getting defensive as I shared my take on what the service had been like in the past. I mentioned again that no one returned my call from Saturday afternoon. She claimed she didn't receive any voice mail from me. Rude and dismissive! I mean I've only been calling the same number to make appts for years. If I don't get through, I'll leave a message or call again. Deflection is a go to tactic used by those averse to criticism. She then asked how old my dog was and began keying in notes. Wow! Unimpressed, I told her and how long we'd been coming there - since the previous owner had it when my dog was two. Erika was the owner. After a few minutes the young lady who had initially groomed him brought him upstairs. She said nothing. Just stood there - like a statue. Not one word of apology for her mistake. Note the owner said nothing either but you could feel the tension. I was not trying to get money back or cause a fuss. Anyway I needed to get out of there as I had to et back to work. I felt as though I was the sane person in a twilight zone episode. Word to the owner; you are in a service industry. Professionalism and accountability matter. An apology helps if sincere. Own it! Please.

I've been using their daycare service for a few months now and am very satisfied with A Dog's Life…read more Sonny and the rest of the team are great with my dog and I can tell he loves spending the day with them and the rest of the pack. I think the best part is the boarding service. They take your dog home and treat is as their own, not like other places that leave the dogs alone overnight. They have a groomer in a few times a week who does a good job too.
