I lived here from August 22 to August 23. Overall living in the Barnum was an experience. It was pretty quiet most of my time living here. Although, the last month of living there, I heard a child screaming for about 50% of my time at my apartment. Regardless, the apartment is very nice and updated with good amenities. With all that being said, the management at the Barnum is horrible. If you want to get in contact with them, good luck. When I would have issues, I would call maybe 5-10 times a DAY, with no answers. Nobody was ever in the office during the office hours either. When I finally got in contact with the office, after quite literally 2 and a half weeks, I mentioned me calling several times a day and the office manager played dumb. This happened several times. Any time I had an issue, it would take weeks to fix, because of their inability to do their job. Luckily, living here, I only had a few issues. However when I had said issues, I dreaded trying to get in contact with management. When I first moved in, the Barnum was under different management. They switched management a month into my year lease. BIG mistake on the behalf. The Barnum is very nice, but do NOT live here. The management SUCKS!!!!!! Now that I have lived here for almost a solid 7 months, I feel ready to leave my feedback. The Barnum property is very elegant. One of the highlights of the property is the speakeasy room that is available through the party room/community room. The community room is pretty large with 3 couches, multiple tables, and a variety of seating options. The party room/community room has a door that enters directly into the outdoor grilling with the fire pit area by the pool. This property also has a fitness room and game room with a pool table. I m nestled in a studio that is larger than any other studio I've toured. The studio bathroom does not have a tub, only a shower with a glass door. The fridges do not equip with an icemaker. The unit appliances are Frigidaire. The studio unit has a stackable full-size washer and dryer in the bathroom. The closet in the studio is a decent size and has built-in corner shelves (I love the closet). The closet door is a sliding barn door. This place makes me feel safe and secure. There are secure entrances, surveillance, a nice neighborhood, and friendly neighbors. Also, there is a secure mail room and a separate LuxerOne secure package room. This room can be sometimes frustrating because some delivery people don't enter the information into the system so you do not get your code to open the door, but the office staff has always come to my rescue. The property holds events throughout the year to nurture the community. They have had pool parties, bingo, cooking contests and so much more! The leasing specialist Patti has been my main point person since the beginning. She has helped me with everything from the tour and on. Patti is a great asset to the company. She is always showing up with a smile on her face and treating the fur babies as if they are her own. Patti knows a lot and if she can't help me right at the moment she finds an answer and gets back to me in less than 24 hours. Patti is always dressed professionally and shows up ready to serve the residents. Jarod the maintenance person has been kind and always stops to say hi to River (my dog). Recently I have been able to meet with Jenna the complex manager and she took the situation at hand professionally. She was very validating and pleasant to be around. read more

I can't even begin to say how much this place makes me happy. The amenities, the space, the "new car" smell. It's awesome. Tons of dogs which is amazing. People are so friendly. Staff is great! I personally think that the soundproof is awesome. Sure you can hear some things, but its way better then I thought it would be. Anyways, 10/10. read more

First day at the Barnum washer and dryer didn't work. Took them 4 days to even come look at it. Couple days later a vehicle was stolen out of the garage. My car was hit by a softball in the parking lot and they won't do anything about it even though I was parked in the parking lot. The staff is very rude. Not impressed with this place. Definitely will not be staying more than a year!! read more

Have been living here for almost 3 months and the noises from all other neighbors is debilitating. Their installation is non existent. We have tried to ask for help from the staff and even managers, not one thing has been done, nor have they even responded. Our window has been broken from a softball since moving in they said it would take 2 weeks to fix and they have done nothing. From constant barking and loud foot steps around our apartment we have not been able to sleep properly even having to use ear plugs every night. Living in appartments for the last ten years I would advise anyone seeking to please reconsider. They try to offer discounts for moving in to try to hide all the faults. read more

We moved in in July and there's been a few issues since then that absolutely could have been avoided with better planning. First of all, this place had not one iota of soundproofing. You can hear EVERYTHING. We currently have an upstairs neighbor from hell that makes extreme noise all hours of the day and night. I've complained twice to the office and now they suggest I use the non emergency police number, which is ridiculous. I'm not tying up police resources for this nonsense. Very shoddy and cheap work was done when building the complex. Oh sure, it looks lovely, but everything is cheap, walls are paper thin, out cabinet fell off the hinges within the first week, etc. here have been MULTIPLE garage break ins with cars being broken into, windows smashed, items stolen and even cars stolen. There are no cameras anywhere, especially in super vulnerable places like stairwells and the elevator. As a woman, this is extremely concerning. We've had issues with people parking in our underground parking spot that we pay for. It was on the weekend so there was nothing we could do until Monday. There's no number to call to take care of things like this during off hours and it's not considered an emergency. Our floor seems to have weekend roaming parties up and down the hallways with folks yelling and screaming at 2 am. Cool, go party but please keep in in your own apartment. All in all we are very disappointed and feel duped. We were told this was a quiet, mature building and it's not. The rent is outrageous considering how cheaply and shoddy the workmanship is plus the no cameras situation. Cameras should be EVERYWHERE. They said they will be installing them now but who knows if that's true or how long it will take. They should have been installed from the get go. I would not recommend renting at the Barnum to anyone I know. You can definitely find much better quality housing around here with what they expect in rent. Office staff and maintenance are really nice and are on things immediately when you inform them. Unfortunately a lot of stuff happens after hours. read more

This is hands down the worst place I have ever lived. The noise here is constant. Not just from residents (I'll get to that later). The company chooses to play loud music all day long from the pool area so that you can never have a quiet, peaceful moment. Even with your windows closed, you can hear it play through them, and they don't spring for a premium music streaming account either so you are also blessed with hearing loud commercials. There have been numerous break-ins in the garage. They have claimed multiple times they are doing things to improve safety. They have done almost nothing. I can't even remember how many months it has been since they first said they were "considering" adding more cameras to the garage, because there are ZERO cameras in the garage. Multiple car break ins, a CAR was stolen (because at the advice of one of the staff, they likely left their garage door opener in their car since she told me to do that), apparently at least one bike has been stolen, and it does not feel safe if you are down there alone at night knowing this happens. If you get in the garage you then also have easy access to inside the building because they do not have fob scanners to get into the elevator, which yes, they also claimed months ago that they were going to put in and have not done this. They keep saying they are "just waiting on parts to arrive" but also have not said if they will be putting cameras in other parts of the building either as numerous residents have asked for. As for the noise from other residents, my upstairs neighbors are extremely loud. It sounds like they are riverdancing or something sometimes, multiple nights a week they are using some sort of thing I assume cleans the "wood" floor" but it sounds like a bowling ball being rolled back and forth. My downstairs neighbor has finally gotten better, but he used to blast his music all the time and I can hear it very clearly through my floors (including the carpeted area). People will party until 11 pm or later outside at night, even on weeknights, and they "talk to these residents" but it doesn't stop. Ever. I had to ask for a year for them to send out a quiet hours policy and they just did. Since warmer weather will just be starting we'll see if people listen, but I highly doubt it. I have to wear earplugs constantly to go to sleep because of the noise, and I pay over $1500 to deal with this. The appliances in the apartment have been mediocre. The washing machine and dryer are cheap and so is the stove/oven. The dishwasher is okay but doesn't always get the job done, and I honestly worry it's going to break sometimes because it just seems cheaply built. Definitely not worth what I pay for. The only reason I had to renew my lease (which I am so angry about as I type this and hear the awful music through my windows while I try to relax) is because of the challenging housing market and finding affordable, nice apartments being very difficult, so I ran out of time. I am now stuck here for another year unless there is a legal way I can break my lease, and given the amount of lies, lack of communication, security issues, noise issues, and so many other things I am looking into this. I have run into various residents over the last year in the hall, elevators, etc. and some of these issues have come up, with numerous people saying this was also worse than any place they lived, they felt scammed, it is so noisy here and they can't believe how much they pay for this, how unsafe they feel, how they constantly call/email the office and don't hear back or they go in person to complain but nothing happens, etc. Do not move here. Ever. I hate it and I hate that I had to renew here. If anyone ever recommends it (or really anything else managed by Steven Scott), run. They don't care about any residents as long as they get their money. read more

I signed a 7 month lease, moved in, and the week I was moving in the remainder of my things, my car was broken into in the under ground parking garage, along with multiple other cars and one was even stolen. They have like 4 cameras in the garage and they only point at the entrances. The garage and others cars have been broken into multiple times since then. I was offered no reimbursement for the damages to my car and no discount on parking garage fees, so I cancelled my parking and park outside now. Can't imagine what would happen if someone went down when someone was breaking in/rummaging through cars especially with no cameras. The interior of the apartments is nice but definitely rushed. My bathroom mirror is falling off the wall, the apartment was not clean when I moved in, and none of the washers installed through the whole building had the moving styrofoam removed from the basin so every one would get stuck on the spin cycle. Everyone I know who moved in here had the same issue with the washer and dryer. Maintenance guy is very nice and gets things fixed, even helped me clean up the broken glass when my car was broken in to. I'm glad my lease is short because it is way more expensive than it is worth. read more
