Course is in good shape as they have been reworking the fairways and with the rains recently the appearance is looking better as the resodded areas are developing well. They have done a great job bringing the course back into shape it is simply the best course I have played in the are and enjoyed it so much I joined the Club as a member. I highly recommend the Club for the Golf and for those who like Tennis or swimming they have that available as well. read more

I hate leaving poor reviews, but more than that, I hate spending money on an obviously dismal golf course. This is a Tom Fazio track and, from what I understand, used to be very nice. But in recent years the quality of upkeep around the course has dramatically slipped. The greens were bumpy and the tee boxes were so thick that teeing the ball high was nearly impossible. The fairways were honestly abysmal -- crab grass springing up all over the place and in some fairways the grass was not only dead but gone completely. Unfortunately I would not recommend playing this course. Sad, sad condition. read more

Funny how if you look on Google reviews all the bad reviews are from a supposed "disgruntled employee". I implore you to read them. Bad Reviews from men and women all over the country. All the new good reviews are with in the last month and all seem to include "slams" on the old chef. We actually USED to come here to enjoy the pool, golf course and dinner. Now the pool seems to be "under renovation" every time we've come. The course is brown and rather ripped up. The clubhouse inself is old, outdated and smells of strong mold. The food is hit or miss. This review is for the event space. I have hosted two events there, the most recent being a baby shower, which could not have been set up or executed more perfectly. The event manager is an hard worker and bends over backwards to accommodate guests and bring their visions to life on any budget. The servers impressed me with their professionalism and friendliness, (which I greatly appreciated, having hosted a wedding at another more expensive country club where the servers greatly lacked those qualities!) The food for the shower was also impressive, from the appetizers to the desserts. There is a new chef on board who is obviously putting some heart into the food. (Shame on the old chef!) read more

The Bayou Club is a golf club however my family used the club house for a Celebration of Life for my great-aunt and great-uncle. The building itself is very large with many rooms for use which include a small room for a service, a large dining hall, and a bar. The building does need some updating but the space it provided was perfect for our family event. The servers/bar tenders were AMAZING. They were quick to serve the food and bring us whatever we needed. The bartenders were also quick to serve as the family had a semi-open bar and there were a lot of us who needed a drink or two. The food was cooked well. I do not eat red meat but everyone at the table loved it and even ate mine, too. My favorite part was the cheesecake. It was so yummy and the sauce added to its goodness. Overall, if you're looking for a place to use as a family even, this is a wonderful place to do so! read more

I attended a wedding on 10/18/2025 and was not impressed. The building was very outdated and in disrepair with a strong moldy smell. It looked like mold had been painted over in many areas. I heard club members complaining about non member events being held at the club. They were very rude and vulgar with their foul language remarks. The ballroom was not impressive at all. The carpet smelled very moldy and looked like it should be in a bowling alley. The buffet pans had crusted food on the silver edges and handles. The air conditioning stopped working which made it around 83 degrees in the venue. There were roaces in the ladies restroom and the wait staff was very unattentive and incompetent. The only saving grace was that the food itself, was delicious. By all rights I cannot recommend this venue to anyone for any event much less a very expensive wedding. Look elsewhere to book your important celebrations! read more

I joined the "Swim Membership". At first, it was a well-maintained pleasant pool. There were some issues with the umbrellas, did not work. Some issues with the chairs and tables: metal chairs and tables had peeling paint. Lounge chairs were uncomfortable. After Hurricane Helene, more severe issues ensued. The women's bathroom ceiling collapsed, making it unusable. The men's bathroom was smelly and unclean. Tables and chairs disappeared, leaving only a few available. Umbrellas were non-existent. Yet, the monthly fee did not change. The pool itself started to have "chunks" of missing cement. Maybe this is why the Health Department shut it down one day with no notice. Before the Christmas Holiday, I found a $90 charge for a bonus to the employees. The employees deserve a bonus; they were very pleasant and helpful. I always tipped well. But I do not feel that I should be responsible for Christmas bonuses! There is an option out, but unless you read every detail of their sporadic emails, you might miss it. I recommend no one join the "Swim Membership" as we were treated like second class next to the "Golf Members". Once I told them I was not renewing my membership, one of the managers was horribly rude and nasty. read more

Had the opportunity to attend a co-ed baby shower. The room we had was spacious with a lovely fireplace and large round tables with white linens and burgundy accessories. (The view of the gulf course was nice). The food buffet was setup beautifully. The manager and staff were attentive and professional. Never wanted for anything. Buffet included: Mixed greens salad Assorted rolls & butter Squash, carrot, broccoli medley Roasted potatoes Skirt steak Baked fish Cake served by the staff Everything was fresh, well-presented, hot and delicious. Enjoyed Mother's Day brunch at the Bayou Club. The staff worked hard to make this day special. Well done! The ambiance was fantastic. The spread included an array of dishes prepared perfectly. The service was efficient and very friendly. So glad we joined this Club. Purchased a cute outfit at the pro shop (ladies gotta look cute playing golf). This club has an excellent driving range and practice greens. They just sunk a load on improving the fringes and they look good! Fairways and greens are well maintained. There is a pool area, tennis courts, and pickle ball courts. More amenities I probably haven't discovered yet. Looking forward to spending lots of time on the course and dining at the Bayou Club. read more

We went for an early dinner. Some Covid protocols such as hand sanitizer and required masks. However tables were not spaced for social distancing and as it got later the dining room grew more crowded. That being said, food was was decent. Nothing spectacular. We bypassed appetizers and had entrees and dessert. Dinner salads were crisp. I had the filet with sweet potato fries. My companion had the lamb chops. My filet was perfectly cooked but lacked any seasoning. Not much can be done to ruin sweet potato fries. Lamb chops were a tad overdone but tasty nonetheless. The flourless chocolate cake with strawberries and whipped cream was a pleasant ending to the meal. The texture was a bit denser than I expected but still enjoyable and the portion size was perfect. Service was adequate. One thing to note was several new items to the menu. The selections are wide ranging from Tex mex egg rolls to an all beef hot dog. Seems to be something for every palate. Airco II, East Bay-South,Bay Pointe -West. These could be names also for this gloried goat pasture . I see one of the reviews mentioned the Director of Golf. "Worst ever" . thats accurate and rating this individual a little high even. The food is ok a little pricey , the course is unbelievably unkept, and the Director of Golf is as bad an individual as I have ever seen. Hope this helps before you think about joining. read more

I photographed a wedding here on Presidents Day 2019. The wedding coordinator was amazing. She introduced herself to me upon my arrival and did such a great job with the wedding. The grounds were beautiful. The dining room and bar were also very nice. The food was absolutely delicious. Challenging golf course. Could use a little more help for the cart staff who are very busy. They never complain but sometimes you just want to pitch in when they have their hands full. The greens are perfect. Fairways long and forgiving for high handicappers but punishing for those at the low end. If you are not in a hurry the grill is a great place to relax after round of golf. read more

I played this course on Saturday for a charity tournament. The clubhouse and course are a nice size and look to be kept well. However the course is not as nice as it actually looks at first. The fairways we played on had a lot of bald patches and the tee boxes were soaking wet. It was liking through a marsh to tee off. The fairways on this course are very wide so if you are not the best golfer don't worry. I suppose I would play this course again it is definitely not bad. But I can say this for the price of the charity ticket to play the course was disappointing. At least the money went to a good cause. read more

My review is for their event space. We had our wedding ceremony and reception at Bayou Club and were completely satisfied with the service and attention to detail provided in the planning of and execution on the day of our wedding. Pricing is extremely competitive for the area and they offer multiple package levels to fit every budget. The package even includes linens of all colors (not just black or white like most venues if they're included at all), cake, and varying times of open bar. The food was delicious; wait service top-notch, and Erin's coordination was exceptional. I loved that the venue itself is beautiful with tall ceilings and windows that overlook the golf course so this required minimal decorations. The outdoor ceremony area is perfect and the outdoor patio is great for guests to be able to mingle inside and outside and not feel crowded. We had 140 guests and were comfortable in the space. Erin and Bayou Club made our special day spectacular and in the words of one of our guests "this wedding was epic"! read more

Great club. When I was a member the course/range were always in great condition. Friendly staff and a fun club to be a member of.

It purports to be an exclusive club, but the staff comes across as arrogant, especially if you ask for assistance. They seem to want to do their own routines and not help anyone other than to point a finger to where you need to go. My GPS had me turn off Belcher Rd onto Bayou Club Blvd, which is a straight shot to the clubhouse. But the gate guard wouldn't let me thru. He made me go around the entire Bayou development via Bryan Dairy and Longwood. Apparently the Bayou residents don't even want their own invited guests to drive through their neighborhood. I've played there a half dozen times and had drinks. The course is wide and very well maintained. The greens were redone May 2015 and are too firm to hold most iron shots and pitches; you won't even leave a ball mark. They are also super fast and undulating, surrounded by many bunkers. The course is always crowded, members pushing you, no marshals. So high scores at Bayou are the norm, what with being hurried to chip and putt fast, rolling greens. read more
