Excellent food and service. Every item we have ordered was delicious, delivered on time and our go to chef!!

This company is dishonest. They did not deliver food of quality. It lacked presentation and taste. Also, this company did not fulfill the contract and it admitted it in an email. My class simply wants reimbursement for ONLY what they did not service and they are refusing. We paid $2700 for food and are asking for $879 for food that was NOT delivered. This company slowly responds to emails and was given ample time to make amends as well as reimburse our class. I feel disappointed in their food service and customer service. I have included a "capture" picture of 1 out of 7 of my concerns with what was ordered per contract. He ONLY admits/apologizes 2 1/2 weeks after the event, when I bring it to his attention. I find that quite strange. Not once was I called and/or notified there was an "accident." This should have been reported to me immediately, the day of the event. It appears as if he did not think I would notice. I find that sneaky and immorally wrong. I have plenty more evidence to support my claim on the service and contract not being fulfilled. The food lacks the full flavor... hit and miss with him. There are so many other flavorful restaurants. Cooks from home and delivers to places. Menu items are not always what you get on the side. At our taste test, he actually Substituted creamed potatoes for dirty rice in a creole dish under the blackened catfish! Should have backed away then. But, the catfish tasted good and he made an excuse... Months later as the event date grew nearer, "The Bearded Chef" went awol. He stopped answering phone calls, or responding to text messages as he had been so good about doing before. He required all of his money upfront. I paid him and he stopped communicating. After I sent him an email, he responded and told me to talk to his assistant Kesha... At no time in the months before, had I heard anything about an assistant... In speaking with Kesha, I found out that she would be the person at the event and not the chef (owner) that I hired. Several discussions took place. Days before the scheduled event, I told Kesha if the "Bearded Chef" did not contact me and show up at my event, then there would not be an event! He finally called with an excuse that was full of inconsistencies. He decided to show up with the food and not send it in an Uber as Kesha stated...Stayed just long enough to deliver the food inside the venue and left. Kesha was the person he left in charge after agreeing in the contract that HE is and would be the chef/cook, caterer, and be present at my event. Kesha served my guests COLD FOOD, from aluminum pans, with plastic utensils. It was a buffet style service where guests chose what foods they wanted on their plate. The servers were cutting off sections of the catfish and dividing the portions between 2 or 3 guests. They ran out of food and a few guests including myself did not get served. I wasn't aware of much of this as I was the honoree... At some point, as I walked around to greet guests, several of them expressed that the food was cold. Later, after the event was over, numerous guests decided to talk to me and complain about the food service... It was very embarrassing. I had rented plates and dishes that Kesha did not use... Bearded Chef was very ugly with me afterwards when I emailed and texted him expressing his failures and my disappointment regarding what he got paid to do and didn't do. He was polite and responsive in the beginning. After he got the money, and closer to the event date, he disappeared. You are taking a risk when hiring this man! BEWARE!!! read more
