This is more than a restaurant--it's a place of meaningful connection where every interaction feels like planting seeds in rich, good soil. The breakfast wrap I had was one of the best I've ever tasted, but the food is just the bonus! You'll leave feeling fed in more ways than one. It's an atmosphere filled with warmth, grace, and the kind of service that nourishes your soul as much as your body. Here, you're not just eating a meal; you're part of something bigger, a space where giving and receiving flow naturally. Whether for a meal or an event, you won't just want to return--you'll feel called to come back.
Great hospitable, service. Everything is made to order, something that I appreciate. So yes, it takes time (for you impatient people), but it's worth the wait. Got to meet Mama Gina herself. I love what she does for the community: feeding the hungry and providing kids with free books.
Right when I walked in this place, I felt so welcomed and like it was home! Mama Gina gave me a hug like we knew each other since who knows when. She's such a sweet owner! I ordered a smoked chicken pasta sandwhich and chicken dumpling soup. She gave me a sample of the smoked chicken pasta, and it was delicious! There are plenty of seating areas, so come on by and check out this sweet owner and her homemade food!
Mama Gina's Stopping was an act of kismet. Headed to Ft Worth for Museums and peck ish. A quick google search and we arrived at Mama Gina's. 6 tables, seating 14-15 max. This is NOT fast food. There isn't a microwave here. This is like going to G-ma's house. You'll get it when you get it but with love, a hug and super happy taste buds. The recipes are Mama Gina's grandmothers, the cakes are made by Mama Gina's mother. Coffee isn't sitting on a warmer, it's made fresh for You. A special (literally a special Special) everyday. There's too big a story to tell about this remarkable woman, her food, her staff, her mission. We widely sampled her menu and there wasn't anything to Improve on. The clean plates were testament to that! We took 2 of each dessert on our two trips (4 day weekend) to go and feasted on those each evening. We devoured Red Beans n Rice, breakfast sandwiches vegan and carnivorous, fried cabbage (!!!) remarkable collards, cheese grits that I could eat n eat n eat and a pancake special. My only regret is not being to eat there daily. It was long time server Shirley's last day, a bittersweet day for them but the personal greetingfrom Mama, newbies n regulars will keep her establishment full. Mama Gina does all kinds of community outreach. When we were there she was collecting canned food for Her church. They were big boxes of books and I watched a young one come in who is encouraged to choose from the many books to read the book and then come back and tell Mama gina about the book and she would get a free dessert. The smile this little doll had on her face when she got a free book and brought it back to her mom to begin looking at the pictures said it all. What really touched my heart was that Mama Gina feeds local homeless every day she is open. I don't mean handing them a Styrofoam container and sending them on their way. They get the same food you and I get, a plate, a knife and a fork, a listening ear, dignity and love. That money comes out of Mama Gina's slender pocket. I'm going to ask you a favor and pay it forward. When you go and have one of her delectable meals, buy one for someone less fortunate.

You like soul food? This aint it! This is plain and simple Good food served by mama Gina herself. If you're dining in you'll be treated by service by Mama Gina herself. She asked my name when I sat down and used it throughout the service. Worth the price of admission to have someone delighted to serve. So often servers are more transactional then truly focused on serving. Nice and soft piano music playing to keep you feeling comfortable. Food was on point, hardy food is usually over salted or too much seasoning, not here. The meatloaf was pillowy and delicious, greens and cabbage tender and not over cooked. This place is definitely a must visit. Stop in and enjoy the service. If you're limited on time, order something to go! Love this place and highly recommend! 5 Stars, 100%!
Mama Gina's will have you doing the Phat Girl dance while you eat. And I will tell you, it doesn't matter that you order it's all amazing. I don't eat pork and this is one of the few places I can eat greens because they don't have pork in them. The meatloaf, shrimp and fruits, breakfast, smothered chicken, Mac-n-cheese, EVERYTHING is delicious. And don't leave without a slice of sweet potato pound cake. You'll thank me for that little tip. Lastly, but certainly not least the service is always excellent!
We just moved here and decided to try a place we hadn't been before! Mama Gina's cooking was so delicious and Gina was so friendly! Definitely making this a regular place!

Mama Gina's is a tiny soulfood restaurant on East Side. The food is EXCELLENT! Red beans and Rice, Mac & Cheese, Collards, all of it #Chef'sKiss. The shrimp and grits are the best I've ever had, seriously. The owner, Mama Gina, I super friendly and welcoming. There is limited seating, and they make everything to order, so there's also a bit of a wait, but it's worth it. We will definitely be back! read more

My friend Lu discovered this little restaurant and after she told me about it I insisted we had to go that day lol ... glad I insisted on it !! We were greeted with a smile and a hug from Mama Gina !! That was the one and only time I have been hugged by the restaurant owner/ manager !! I have to say it was a treat to be greeted like that ! Then it got better as the food came out freshly cooked and everything was made to perfection!! We highly enjoyed our meal and I recommend you go try this place out ASAP!! I will be back again and again until I've tried everything on the menu! read more

This has become my favorite casual dining restaurant. The food is great and the staff are so friendly. Mama Gina makes everyone feel like family. My favorite lunch is the meatloaf with sides of collard greens and dirty rice. The smothered chicken is a close second. The breakfast wrap is amazing g--my wife orders it for lunch. And on Saturdays, Mama Gina makes sweet potato pancakes that are to die for! It isn't Saturday but you have a hankering for a sweet potato baked good? Try the sweet potato pound cake or the peach cobbler (with a sweet potato crust). I always eat the food so fast that I forget to take pictures. It always looks great and tastes even read more

Ordered through DoorDash the blackened catfish lunch and the sweet potato pound cake which I didn't get. I will not be ordering back from here the food was ice cold and the fish was burnt but undercooked like how is that possible. read more

Great breakfast!! First time trying the place and Mama Gina's did not disappoint. Mama Gina and Ms April very friendly and have a wonderful feel to their place. I ordered the Breakfast Sandwich with crispy bacon. The sandwich was very good, eggs as requested fried over medium and the croissant flakey and not over toasted. A really good small local business to support. read more
