Adriana changed me from looking like a homeless bum to a presentable professional. Everything about the shave and haircut was top notch. She helped me figure out what look I wanted and showed me how to measure up the beard and keep it maintained. The hot towel neck massage before the straight razor shave made my skin remarkably smooth and even the stubble that grew out later seemed softer than usual. This place was everything I expected. The walls are adorned with metal art from a local artist, the beer selection is local and the beard grease was the best material I've ever put in my beard. After the precision hair cut I got a hot towel shave with straight razor that looked like my beard was trimmed with lasers. Ryn took my unmanaged beard and made it sexy again. I would recommend anyone who cares about their hair or beard to check this place out. I'm very frustrated with you guys.. Of all the barbers I could have gone to in town I chose "The Beardsmith" because I was looking for an experienced barber that specializes in beards. I booked an appointment with Wendy Rose a month and half in advance! The day of my appointment Amy called me and asked if I would be willing to switch to another barber as she was trying to spread out the appointments for Wendy. In my mind I thought maybe something came up for Wendy, so I went against my best judgement and agreed to switch thinking everyone else there is pretty well experienced. It has now become apparent that you were just tossing the new barber a bone by passing him clients. You could have been more transparent and told me he's a newer barber so I could make a more informed decision. I didn't realize how badly my beard was butchered until I got to my car and had a better look. I told Israel I was trying to grow out my beard long and that I was just wanting to clean it up a little. He shaved off the sides of my beard down to about a centimeter in length and left a long goatee. He also destroyed my jawline.. instead of the straight horizontal line to my neck he shaved diagonally from the front up above my jawline up to my ear, and only on ONE SIDE! The other side went horizontal just below my jawline. He also whitewalled above my left ear with the clippers and at the back of my head at my neckline he left one side square, and the other side rounded. My beard was in such bad shape that I decided to shave it down and start over! read more

Love coming here. Kevin is my barber and he does a great job. Everyone is very friendly and for me it's a very comfortable and relaxing atmosphere. Great personality and great customer service! I'm rating a 3 due to the fact that I had to return to get my hair fixed. Also, the cut wasn't exactly what I asked for. Sides were cut shorter then desired. I feel scissors are a better option then using the clippers to cut hair through the comb to get more of a desired length. I unfortunately will not be returning as I was disspaointed in my cut. I wish It was a better cut as the stylist had a Very high rating. read more

3 months ago when we found out we were coming to Boise, I called and made my husband an appointment at The Beardsmith to get the Ultimate Beardsmithing package.. When I had called the girl on the phone told me we didn't need to make an appointment and to just come in. I told her I wanted to make one because we would only be in town for one day.. this morning we show up for his appointment and they say he doesn't have one.. the girl at the counter says "are you sure it's here?" As if I didn't know where I made an appointment. I explained to her what I was told over the phone and she said "we would never say that." well, someone did. The only solution she had was "we can call you if someone cancels" not even an apology, basically just "you didn't make an appointment." We drove from Buckley, Washington and someone on your end messed up. Safe to say we are highly disappointed and they need better reception skills. read more

My beard was basically butchered. My neck was cut and burned. Guys I really don't like leaving bad reviews but I must vent it out somewhere right now. I am a serious beard person. I make my own balm and beard oils. I couldn't have been more clear about the look I was going for.
