I tried to make an appointment with their phone reservations center and initially experienced some difficulty and had to get the office manager Ashley involved to resolve, which did have somewhat of a resolution in the end. I went to the office about 15 minutes before as requested to get signed in and registered in person. The lady at the front desk was so warm and welcoming, and made me feel at home. Truly a five-star experience from this employee! When I went into the back office, all of the staff is truly amazing, and made me feel at home, another true five-star experience. I saw Nurse Practitioner Rolando Gonzalez and he was very nice, caring, and generally showed a sense of concern about my health. I would rate Rolando and his entire back of house team 10 stars if I could. When I was departing the office, I had to schedule blood work to be done with the office. At the front desk, the lady told me I could only come two days later at 2 PM and they had no other availability. I had already taken a half sick day off from work to come to the appointment that I was at, so I couldn't take another half day to come in 2 days later (considering the office opens at 7:30 AM). I asked the front desk staff for other availability and she told me that was all she had, and didn't offer other assistance. I asked her to ask Rolando because he requested the blood work and it was fine to call me back in a few hours if she needed to check their schedule further. She came back to me a few minutes later and said Rolando said they should be able to make it work, but she would go ahead and make me a 1:30 appointment but to show up around 8 AM to be worked in around other patients to have my blood work done. I arrived a few days later exactly at 7:30 AM and there were no other patients in the office, so the arguing back and forth was absolutely pointless considering I was the only patient in the office and they walked me right back to have my blood work done and I was out in 10 minutes. I had to then go back the following week to review my blood work and the front desk lady this time was rude when I checked in and initially denied my appointment because I had not checked in online. She asked to see my phone and would do the check-in with me on my phone (which I thought was weird, I really don't like giving my phone to a stranger like that). I denied it and told her she could do the check-in with me while I was there and she then did so. She also charged me another $20 co-pay for my office visit (which I wasn't warned about in advance, so I wasn't happy about that either). The back of house experience was once again amazing (a ten-star experience), but the front desk and reservations experience are terrible. I met with office manager Ashley in person to express my feedback that I'm sharing in this review as well.

Incident Statement…read more Date of Incident: July 18, 2026 Approximate Time: 7:30 PM-8:36 PM Location: North Tower, First Floor Front Desk My name is Vicky Myers. On July 18, 2026, my husband, Mark Szporka, and I visited the hospital to see my friend, Aines Hernandez Gonzalez's father, Pedro Hernandez, who had undergone surgery earlier that day and was a patient at the hospital. We checked in at the North Tower first-floor front desk at approximately 7:30-7:42 PM. The room number my friend had provided was incorrect, so I called her to verify it. During that call, she was crying and repeatedly said, "Vicky, please help me. Please help." I immediately informed the two front desk employees that my friend was trapped in an elevator and was asking for help. They instructed me to tell her to press the elevator emergency alarm button and stated that only an engineer had a key to the elevator. Based on what I observed, no immediate action appeared to be taken. A short time later, my friend called again. She was crying and stated, "Vicky, I can't breathe. I'm going to die in here. I have panic and anxiety attacks. Please help." I immediately informed the front desk staff of what she had said and again requested that they respond urgently because I believed she was experiencing a medical emergency while trapped inside the elevator. By that point, approximately ten minutes had already passed. Throughout this time, my friend continued pressing the elevator emergency alarm. I repeatedly asked the front desk staff to obtain immediate assistance. While doing so, I observed the two employees look at one another, smile, and laugh. Given the circumstances, I found their demeanor to be inappropriate. Eventually, one of the employees made a telephone call. I initially believed he was contacting someone to assist with the elevator. Instead, I later learned that hospital security had been contacted because I had raised my voice while repeatedly asking for help. When it became apparent to me that no immediate action was being taken to free my friend, I went outside and called 911 Then the female officer showed up asked me what was happening, which surprised me because security had already been contacted. Based on what I observed, I did not believe the staff appreciated the urgency of the situation or responded appropriately. While the elevator alarm continued sounding, I observed employees leaving work without anyone appearing to respond to the alarm or attempt to assist. Based on the times known to me, my friend remained trapped in the elevator from approximately 7:42 PM until 8:19 PM, a total of approximately 37 minutes. There were also two police officers present, one female and one male. While my friend was still trapped, they repeatedly questioned me instead of focusing on the emergency. The female officer instructed me to lower my voice. I explained that I had repeatedly requested assistance from the front desk staff but believed no meaningful action had been taken and that I had observed staff smiling and laughing during the incident. Both officers then instructed me to leave the premises and stated that I would be arrested if I refused. At that point, I had already checked in, presented my identification, and was simply attempting to obtain emergency assistance for my friend. According to my friend, she has a history of anxiety and panic attacks. She later told me that while trapped in the elevator she experienced severe anxiety, difficulty breathing, shaking, crying, and believed she might die. By the time the fire department arrived, she had already been released from the elevator. She told me that the elevator suddenly began moving, the doors opened, and a woman who was present asked whether she was all right. When I saw Aines after she exited the elevator, she appeared pale, visibly shaken, sweating, dizzy, short of breath, crying, and emotionally distressed. I also observed a female police officer tell her to calm down despite her apparent distress. The front desk employees involved did not identify themselves or provide their names when requested. I have attached photographs of the individuals I was able to capture for identification purposes. Based on what I personally observed, I believe this incident demonstrated a serious lack of urgency, professionalism, compassion, communication, and appropriate judgment by the staff involved. In a situation involving a person trapped in an elevator who appeared to be experiencing a medical emergency, I expected staff to promptly coordinate an emergency response, communicate with the appropriate personnel, and treat the situation with the seriousness it required. This incident also raises concerns regarding the hospital's emergency procedures for elevator entrapments, including the apparent lack of an immediately available means of releasing trapped occupants or a clearly implemented emergency response protocol. It's been a long time since I went to an ER other than Kaiser…read more Checking into Mount Sinai was very smooth. I handed over my ID and Kaiser card and gave my information and they were able to easily bill my insurance so I didn't have to handle it after the fact. After some wait my vitals were checked, then I was sent back to the lobby and after a bit more of a wait, I was moved into a shared room. In total my visit was about three hours and I was able to speak to the doctor who ordered my medication to the closest pharmacy and had a first dose ready for me prior to my leaving. When I let them know I hadn't eaten recently they also provided a sandwich and crackers to take with the medication. I was texted semi-regularly with the name of my nurse, my doctor, my room, and when I was discharged - all things Kaiser doesn't do that I appreciated. My visit fee was the same as it is with Kaiser and because they supplied the first dose I was able to head home and go to sleep, picking up my medication the next day. All in all, I appreciated how Mount Sinai made the experience smooth for me and it's nice knowing I have an ER I can go to when I'm in the area.
