This time I had one ventral hernia that had been repaired twice before and two inguinal hernia's that were very painful. He was genuinely concerned before surgery since I had an umbilical hernia surgery in 2003 and recalled mesh was used which broke and punctured my upper and lower bowels. That one turned into nine total surgeries to get it right, so I have been in surgery hell. He did mine robotically and had to use five incisions to do it correctly. The day after surgery and for about four days total the pain was the worst that I have ever had BUT the surgery took almost five hours and involved a lot of adhesion and other growth removal just so that he could sew in the mesh. It is now day eight and I feel much better and I know that he did the best that he could do. I saw absolutely zero racism because I am white which was mentioned by another negative reviewer. I am also a veteran and we all know that the VA never pays the total bill and that had zero bearing on my treatment. All of these negative reviews with problems are more to blame on the reviewers and not Surgery Associates. I highly recommend Dr Michael Reyes !!!

Because there were no appointments at Spohn South until August for an upper GI, I had it done at DeTar Navarro in Victoria on May 18. Since then I have waited for a call concerning having an endoscopy with Dr Martin. I have called numerous times only to be sent to voice mail boxes that are full. I finally spoke with Jared a couple of weeks ago and he said my referral was expired. Could I come in for another apartment. I said no, and he promised to speak to Dr Martin and get back to me. He provides his input and years of experience to provide us with multiple perspectives. Choosing a doctor is no easy task. And it takes several appointment to develop a relationship with a new doctor. He's not a magician, he's a doctor. He'll expect you to be his co-pilot as you work together optimizing your health. He is a "hands on" doctor and will give you as much time as is needed to explore your issues and find the proper resolution. He is a Christian and asks if you would like to pray with him at the start of each visit. If that makes you uncomfortable, you may decline. I appreciate a doctor who asks for God's help in treating me and who acknowledges a higher power. I have truly been blessed to find Dr. Boriack with all his wisdom and experience. He has assisted me in finding alternative solutions to my heart blockage... (cleared the blockage) ... and helped me find appropriate supplements to avoid prescription drug side effects for thyroid and High Blood Pressure. This place is the best ER there is. I have only been referred to the hospital once from here because they found I had retained placenta and had to be admitted. The doctors and patients are always so nice and willing to help, and they go above and beyond. I have had insurance coming here, and I have had no insurance coming here. The paperwork that is shared with the patient is modern and easy to follow. The admin help visibly work off the options of the health insurance I am using. The low waiting times with the waiting room and exam room have been impressive versus what I read of elsewhere. The overall operation is set up to run efficiently, which is too rare in the healthcare industry. The waiting area is large, clean and well-kept. Both my wife and I have seen Dr. Mertz several times since becoming his patients and every time we only spent five to ten minutes in the waiting room and only a couple minutes in the exam room before Dr. Mertz came in.
