No offense, New South Wales, but this has nothing on the Big Pineapple. You can't climb inside said banana, and it's much smaller than the name might suggest (no innuendo intended). Otherwise, it's a perfectly respectable fibreglass fruit on the side of a highway. If that's your kind of thing.
Honestly, I'm not entirely sure what the purpose of this place actually is, though I should admit that it does happen to be a little more than your typical gigantic fibreglass structure that simply exists to give a town some merit. Yeah, this particular one actually is part of a larger theme park, and of course the theme happens to be Bananas. Mind you, I really wasn't all that keen in wasting my time by spending more time here than I really had to. read more
Apparently, this place would be great for kids. They have laser tag, toboggans, a water park, and ice skating. More entertainment include a sky walk, plantation tour, & candy kitchen. But during my visit, all we did was take a few photos, go to the gift shop, and visit their cafe... I felt like I couldn't go here without having something with banana in it. So two of us split a banana milkshake, it was good, and not overpriced. I wish I would've gotten on of their "famous" chocolate covered bananas. It looks like a nice place for breakfast actually, the menu was pretty decent. Personally, I thought that the banana would be bigger. But for touristy purposes, I thought overall that it was a cute place and done well. It's located right on the road coming into Coffs Harbour, you can't miss it. read more

We stopped for a coffee and a photo at the Big Banana. Also bought some souvenirs. Coffee was good, menu was huge and gift shop great too. Lots of activities for kids inc laser tag, mini golf, ice skating and inflatable slides. Worth a look for sure! read more

Not taking a picture of the Big Banana is like going to New York and not photographing the Empire State Building. So we stopped out front, took a picture and went on our way! LOL read more
