i was staying at a local park and rode my bike into Kearney a distance of about 8 miles. I got into town and noticed my bike tire went flat. I contacted Paul at The Shed bike shop to see where they were located. Paul said it was to far so he drove his truck to my location, brought me and my bike back to his shop, quickly fixed the flat and I was on my way. Amazing service and hospitality. Excellent business. We were passing through Kearney on Highway 80. Wanted to buy a bike carrier for our RV. I called, they had one in stock. We went to the store and it was closed. I called them again and the owner answered telling me they were closed for Memorial Day. But he offered to come in and fix us up. We can't say enough positive things for them! My experience: I originally called in to see how much it would cost for them to put a bike together if I ordered one online. They gave me a quote and asked me what model I was looking at to see if they had anything comparable in stock. They recommended the Lexa from Trek and after doing a quick comparison online, I decided the Lexa would be worth a look. I was told they'd need a few days to assemble it and that I should go to the shop on Saturday(the call was on Wednesday). Fair enough. When I went to the shop on Saturday to check it out, it had not yet been assembled. I was shown the men's equivalent of the bike I was looking at. They apologized for the bike not being ready and told me they would put it together and give me a call. I said it wasn't a big deal that it wasn't ready for me to look at because I couldn't buy it that day anyway (I was waiting for a new bank card to arrive). They never called. I bought the original bike online and had it assembled at another shop, where I also bought wheels and pedals. I spent around $800 total, and that all could have been at Bike Shed if the service had been, at the very least, adequate. read more

This is a long overdue review. My family and I were visiting Kearney for the eclipse and went bike riding the day before. Unbeknownst to us, Kearney is covered in thorns. The Bike Shed took care of our flat tires on short notice, all in the same day even while be closed for a few hours for the eclipse, and at a great price. Very friendly, knowledgeable, consulted me before doing anything that changed the work order. Great customer service!!! read more
