The meaning of its unique name is " affectedly or pretentiously elegant or refined in manners or tastes." It carries eclectic, one-of-a-kind bohemian, classic, and casual clothing for men and women from around the world, including handmade frames, candle holders, leather shoes and boots, and handmade jewelry. The staff is very helpful and make you feel at home. It's a good place to find basics and the prices are reasonable. The clothing is comfortable and stylish, and I love the styles.This business that has been around for almost 30 years has a fantastic selection of unique items that you won't find anywhere else. I went to visit and was very impressed with the boutique's decor from the entrance area outside the main door to the interior design and distribution of their merchandise. Weather you are looking for something for yourself or a one of a kind gift for a family member or a best friend, I highly recommend you give them a visit. After being awarded the Yelp NC Triad Squad Yelper of the Year 2024 Award at the Yelpies Award Ceremony last year, an event that honored the highest-performing Yelp Elites, celebrating their contributions and accomplishments throughout the year, I decided that this year, as an All-Star Yelp Elite, I not only wanted to be the first to discover new restaurants and businesses, and bring them to the attention of the public, but also to uncover those found in hidden paths that for one reason or another have not reached the public in its totality. And 2nd on Main, in Salem, Virginia, is a perfect example. Located in the historic Brooks Byrd Pharmacy building across the street from the Salem Farmer's Market, this extraordinary gift shop offers a variety of one-of-a-kind nostalgia and modern treasures. Inside, a friendly young lady greeted me and welcomed me to the store. She explained that this was a special place for unique finds.That it was founded with the idea of bringing joy to the community by supporting creative local craftspeople and artists, through showcasing and selling their products. And quite a variety of products I found there as I looked around. From jewelry, to clothing, to artworks, to artistic home decor, just to name a few. For starters they were watching me like a hawk when I was trying dresses on. Once I was done, I decided to be helpful and put the clothes back. After I did that, one of the workers asked me where I put the clothes. I told her I put them back, and then she proceeded to check all the pieces that I tried on. Then as I was leaving, they called me back in asking where I put the one dress because they could not find it. I walked right in and found it in 30 seconds and I felt like I knew the store better than the employee. I understand that they have a job to do and have to make sure people do not steal but I felt judged the moment I walked in. I felt like I was accused of stealing and if they are so worried about people stealing then put sensors on their clothes. The only reason I gave it 3 stars instead of 1 star is because they had cute clothes.

If the items in the display window looked nice, when I walked inside the store I was amazed at all of the beautiful quality items that I saw there. A friendly and very knowledgeable lady in charge of the store was having a young man employee move some of the Boots to the back of the store where all the discounted items are displayed. She talked to me about the company and brought me to the area where the exotic Western Boots were kept so that I could admire all the different boot skins from ostrich to snake and beyond. Everything in the store were quality items, from hats, belts, belt buckles, jewelry, knives, colone, leather wallets, leather purses, apparel, sunglasses, greeting cards, home decorations, toys, stuff animals, and even pet items. On the back wall of the store, high above, there is a mural painted representing the Blue Hill Mountains and the Star of Roanoke, which gives the store a local flavor. Among my favorite items in the store is an artwork of a white barn with the saying: "The simple things MAKE LIFE WORTH LIVING." I highly recommend everyone reading my review to visit this store.
