This is an old fashioned 'proper' pub with real ales, which are rotated on a very regular basis, to give you a taste of something new! When I was there last they had Tribute, Otter Ale, and Hobgoblin and more on the way!
Great new Landlord and Landlady, who make you feel very welcome, with staff that are attentive, and very capable.
The food is great, as it is proper pub grub!! The prices are reasonable, and there are usually specials such as the £5 for two meal deals. I had Scampi and Chips, and my partner had Sausage, Mash and Onion Gravy, and the portions were a good size. There is a normal menu with Steaks etc for those who want a three course meal.
The restaurant is not enormous, but then it can seat about 30 people comfortably.
For winter days and nights there is always a roaring log fire in the lounge, and in the summer, there is a beer garden. Loads of car parking space, and no real changes in level in the pub, which means it is great for disabled access.
I will certainly be back a few times throughout the year! read more
