I did a random google search for a restaurant in this area and found this gem. This was one of the best meals I've ever had anywhere. We arrived when they opened for lunch and were the only ones eating at the time. The dishes are smallish, tapa style and each plate was perfect for 2 people. We ordered the octopus, scallop, hake, steak, and salad. Each dish was distinctly different and all cooked to perfection. The sauces were all distinctly different and all so good that we were "secretly" licking the plates. I don't usually like cooked fish (prefer raw) but the hake was SO good. To top it off, the 2 desserts we ordered were equally amazing- orange tart and black forest. They were both deconstructed desserts but everything in each one was delicious. I would eat this whole meal all over again and would come back to Edinburgh just to eat here again. Bonus- it's right across the street from the Islander Workshop so you can eat lunch then make a custom purse souvenir like we did. read more
