The wine tasting is such a great deal--only $10 for 6 options, and they even give you a little cup of Goldfish to snack on between tastings (which is actually perfect). They also have a larger space for events, and my friends and I did their spring mat decorating event--it was SO fun and such a cute experience. The only downside was seating for the event--we didn't realize there was a specific process for reserving spots together, so we almost didn't get to sit as a group. Luckily it worked out when someone nearby didn't show up. Overall, such a fun, relaxed spot with great vibes. I'll definitely be back!

You are able to bring in your own food/catering. Appreciated the warm welcome from the owner and hearing their back story as well as the grape origin of a few of the blends. I'm excited to return! I've already messaged friends and family to share pictures and say "let's come back together".

The parking lot is easy to access right off of Taylorsville road and there is plenty of parking in two large, separate parking areas. The voting is very streamlined and easy to do. You walk in, present your ID, they give you a ballot, fill it out, drop it off, get a sticker (or wrist band) and you're on your way. It's never taken me longer than 20 minute to vote in any election. My recommendation would be to vote early (if you can), and if you're voting on Election day, go as early in the day as you can. We were there for first time. However it was Saturday evening and it was pretty much busy and I didn't expect to see that many kids and families around. It is nothing wrong. We went to the spot and found out that we are going to stand in the line and wait to check in again for our balls to play. It was quite difficult because we spend a lot of time standing and waiting before we could play next courses. After the first course, we decided to end it early and get the money back because we didn't know what to except. Unfortunately they do not give the money back but they give you free game to come back in other time when it is not too busy which we will definitely do that. One other thing is when you buy beer. You will have to move away from the bar because it was reservation for people who sit at the bar. I find it odd. But I guess that what it is. I didnt make sense to me about the reservation for play because I felt that it was too many people at that point. I would come back when it is not too busy.

The Nunnlea House is a historic building that is offered as a rental for special events. I recently visited for a sorority event and assisted with setting up tables for dinner, crafts, etc. The kitchen area is fairly locked down to protect the house items. I was surprised it wasn't more accommodating to host so note to those wanting to rent - you need to bring all the plates, cups, utensils, table covers, etc. I was also surprised at how warm the building was. We turned down the air to prepare for the larger crowd but for those of us prepping the decorations we had melted through our clothes. The facility is older and it shows its age. I was surprised that its character was lost a bit in how run down the rooms and fixtures are, including worn and dirty couches. Rental pricing can be found on their website.

They are also wonderful! On my bucket list is a tour complete with bourbon tasting. They have delicious looking bourbon balls for sale as well! The home is lovely as are the grounds. It's worth a visit!

Enjoyed a gorgeous evening beneath the huge trees for the annual Filson Historical Society…read morefundraiser. The Crashers concert was absolutely amazing and they provide a helluva show. The property is lovely and the perfect setting for our picnic and mingling. Event sold 1,000 tickets and provided plenty of room to spread out and still see the stage. Entrance was easy to find and lovely long paved roadway lined with mature trees. Parking was a bit precarious on the grass due to some ruts, but we navigated this slow and steady to avoid ripping out the car's oil pan or busting a tie rod (another sad historical tale ...) We plan to return soon to tour more of the property, including the house.

The gardens and grounds are especially beautiful -- I can't imagine a better place for a wedding. The old growth trees provide plenty of shade, making even those hot summer weddings tolerable. Wow! Wow! Wow! Two…read moreof my dearest friends tied the knot recently, and I cannot fathom a better venue for their wedding. With the wedding day scheduled for a Saturday, the bridal party and groomsmen were able to leave gowns, beauty products, suits, and overnight bags in our rooms the Friday before upon completing the rehearsal. This allowed for an easy situation to walk in to on the morning of the wedding as we prepared for the ceremony later that afternoon. The house was built in the mid 1800s and has been kept within the family since then. The current owners, Kim and Chaz, take great pride in the house and were extremely accommodating towards our group. They were on hand throughout Saturday to answer any questions. As a history nerd, I loved speaking with them more on the history of the house and the surrounding gardens (that were stunningly beautiful in September) as I snuck a cigarette on the back porch during the reception. When the bride & groom booked the venue, they were also able to secure accommodations for the bridal party. Considering that all five of the bridesmaids live over an hour away, it made for the perfect place to crash post reception. Our two flower girls had a ball exploring the house and spent the night as well with no problem. To top off the magical wedding weekend, Kim and Chaz prepared coffee and breakfast on Sunday morning for the guests that spent the night. I highly recommend considering Midlane Farm as a special events venue. The service we received certainly deserves five stars!
