I recently was in need of a jeweler to repair a clasp on my necklace and I wanted to pick out an anniversary band with my husband. We decide to go to the Blue Diamond upon recommendation by a family member. Upon arrival and speaking with the salesman he said they'd have to send my necklace out for repair. He recommended several clasps. I wanted a lobster claw. He got his book out and quotes me a price, then he looked at my necklace again and told me he could do a smaller clasp, but for a little cheaper. I was ok with that. He had the ticket made up and told me it would be around $85 with a labor fee. I was under the impression that the fee an the cost of the clasp were a total of $85. Later on after the repair, the total for the clasp repair was $125. I was not happy, but I paid the fee. After the repair order was complete, I began to look at anniversary rings. The salesman was hesitant about removing any rings for my to try on. He didn't try to help me find anything, he just asked what cut of diamonds I wanted and setting. I told him I wanted something that complimented my wedding set. He pulled a ring out here and there, but they were all the same. He also got out a book to order rings in for me to look at, but they weren't really my taste either. I found a ring that I liked, but I had ask to try it on, he didn't offer. While I was trying on rings and putting in my necklace order, a woman was sitting behind a desk that faced the showroom cases. She kept scowling at me and my son who was being a good kid. He had brought a car magazine to keep himself busy. Her unfriendliness was another big turn off. I'm never going back to this jeweler. They don't seem to really care about their customers and their prices seem rather wishy-washy. read more
