One-on-one Sessions on a reformer with Arianne can be private OR in a team of two. All of the scheduling is done through an online portal, (what is the deal with Germans wanting you to call to schedule an appointment...seriously) and are conducted in German or English. This was a godsend for me as I was not sure if I could manage enough German to get through an entire session on a reformer. Happily, Arianne is a California girl who can switch between the two languages seamlessly. I am very impressed with the level of knowledge that the trainers have. I play ice hockey and didn't think Pilates would help me on the ice. At first I just went to stay in shape, but it really did help my game a lot. The trainers there will train you in English or in German which was a huge factor for me since I'm still mastering German. Another big point for me was the cost. Considering the expertise of the trainers I think I am getting a really great deal and even saved more when I bought a 10-pack. But they also have classes that are much cheaper, or one can arrange for a duo or a trio which can also save some cash. For me, one on one is the best. My trainer constantly talks and makes adjustments to my form to maximize my workout. The atmosphere is great. Renovated studio space with changing rooms and a beautiful shower. Pilates really sets itself apart from other exercises because of the attention to detail. The trainers all have to pass anatomy courses and really understand the human body. I've seen other clients there who have serious physical issues who make dramatic positive strides through Pilates. I would recommend Pilates at Senso Studio for anyone, but especially those who are bored of gyms or might have posture, circulation, back or neck issues. I had emailed ahead of time to see if any of the classes were taught in English. Even though the classes are not typically taught in English, there are instructors there who speak English. I took a class with Elena and she was kind enough to take the challenge to teach the class both in English AND German (not an easy task!). The owners Jon and Isabel are incredibly kind and helpful. The studio itself is very clean, well organized and beautiful. I am so grateful to find such wonderful pilates studios in the community. When I visit Berlin I will most definitely come back to this studio!

It only took two visits for me to fall in love with Lokahi Loft!…read more In my opinion, it is literally one of the best fitness clubs in the whole city. I love that there is an entire floor dedicated to strength training. The best part: I went here the other night at prime time and the place was empty! As a long-time patron of Superfit, I can say without a doubt that it does not even belong in the same category as Lokahi Loft. Obviously, the membership is going to be a little more expensive, but it is truly worth it if you want to actually be able to work out at all times of the day (as opposed to waiting around for machines in the evening at Superfit). I bought a groupon for the CrossCircle classes and have nothing bad to say about the two courses I have been to so far. The trainers seemed really knowledgable and were big sticklers on proper technique. This is great; a lot of Crossfit style workouts are criticized for being dangerous because the instructors neglect teaching good form -- certainly not the case here at Lokahi! Side note of little importance: the instructors are extremely attractive and have physiques that truly prove they not only talk the talk, but walk the walk....;D In addition, they have a really large wellness area, including multiple terraces and a library-lounge. The personnel is also really friendly, much unlike at the other fitness clubs I have visited in Berlin. Two small downsides: one, the club is situated pretty far away from where I live; and two, I wish there was a bit more functional equipment available for use outside of the CrossCircle area (which you have to pay a separate fee for). Despite this, I am still heavily considering becoming a member because of all the positives that Lokahi Loft has to offer!

It also offers physio, massage, osteopathy and other various treatments. I come here for Pilates which is also subsidised by my health insurance. The class is very friendly. Great teacher. Always come away feeling much better than when I went in so can't be too bad. I like that it's small and less intimidating lol. I can really just amble my way through the class without feeling like a complete unfit freak. It also has a little workout gym where you can pay I think €7 for the week. In that week you can go as often as you like so quite good for those of us who have all joined a gym, been once and spend the next two years trying to get out the contract ;)
