As a man, I haven't used their cosmetics but gifts from here have always been well received. However, being a foodie, it's nice to see that they have food too! Traditional biscuits and tea are also available. I tried a free sample of their shortbread, which was very buttery and yummy If i wanted to really impress someone, I would head here rather than Body Shop but expect to spend a little more too

Quality is all you look for when you're buying make-up, and specially, face products. The concealer blends fine with other products and all the creams and foundations I've tried give the face a really polished and blemish-free look. You can ask the lovely girls here for any advice and I insist that you ask for the cleansers as well. All the make-up removing products are a great money investment that is more that worth making.

My whole skin was left sticky as they don't clean. When I was dressing up, she didn't leave the room and told me I have to rush.. how ill mannered is that... Never ever go there.. it's cheap but not even worth a penny.

Sally stocks a wide range of hair and beauty supplies. I discovered this when a friend of mine used to colour my hair at home. We had a great deal - I would drive her here, pay for the colour and bleach, which usually came to under £20.00, then make her lunch or dinner while she did my hair, and that was my payment. I miss those days. As I am not in the beauty trade, I don't get the hallowed 40% discount. Still, there is a lot that I can get here that works out cheaper than even, say, Superdrug. Plenty of the shampoos and conditioners that are used in salons, and then pushed as a sale after they have done your hair can be found here, always at a vastly reduced price.

As my roll model advised, fed up with my own barnet I had a look around the African beauty shops in Brixton for an alternative. If you are looking to buy a wig, value for money and quality wise, you can't really get better than this area. A huge selection of shops with a variety of styles. After much trying on and playing with all of the wigs in the shop I walked out with a £30 real hair shaggy cut. Fabulous! It's great for when you just fancy a change or if you're having a bad hair day. I'd suggest coming in this shop with a friend. You can get a little carried away and end up walking out with a Tina Turner number if you take the fella behind the counters' advice.

So, department stores are a good hunting ground for me around times like Christmas when I need to find and buy lots of presents. This Debenhams store is the anchor store for Centre Court Shopping Centre in Wimbledon. It isn't the biggest department but has the full variety of different departments. I had a successful shopping trip here today. The top floor had a lot of homeware and kitchen gadgets - fortunately, a lot of my friends are foodies and love to cook and entertain. The middle level is mainly ladies clothing but the ground floor yielded more success with menswear, fragrances & cosmetics and also a gift section with some fun things to give. It is better to give than receive and Debenhams made that easier for me to achieve today
