I feel like some of the food they had at this event was not their best. The standouts for me were the shrimp ceviche from Suviche and salmon and rice from Temple Street Eatery. These were excellent. Rusty Pelican won the big award. Their dish was tasty. It was ribeye and shrimp I believe. (No sign describing the dish on table) I wanted to try the lobster salad from Catch and Cut but they were about to go on stage for the competition when I went by twice. Other restaurants were just ok. I enjoyed the Hendrick's gin drinks. Blacklane had a nice lounge with champagne. All in all, this event is nice because it is food, drinks and music on the beach at night. It was a nice, breezy evening, so that made it even nicer. But if I break it down on most of the food food and even most of the drinks, it is just ok. I expected real high quality seafood and it just didn't cut it for me. Seafood Slam was during the day and it got hot! This event was pretty similar in terms of quality of food and drinks. Nothing bad but nothing to write home about. I think I preferred the Chef Showdown compared to the Seafood Slam.

Many patrons at The Donkey Show were dressed to the nines in their 70s gear, to match the theme of the show. There was so much polyester you'd think it was Halloween in Alabama. Please, nobody light a cigarette... Inside, it's more club than theatre. Dance floor tickets grant you a pass to experience the club from the middle of all the action, but be prepared to stand, and dance, the entire time. The music is awesome, the sound system blaring, and the lights are a show of their own. Bring cash or credit for drinks and remember, this is a take on Studio 54. There's no shortage of references to drugs, sex, and disco music so leave the kiddies at home. VIP is a good choice for older guests who may want to sit down at certain points throughout the show. Waitresses will serve you drinks and food from the bar. The show is envelopes the entire performance space, so you don't miss anything when you're raised up off the main dance floor in VIP. The performance itself is multidisciplinary wonder of song and dance, with a pinch of theatre and splash of acrobatics thrown in for fun. The cast did an amazing job and encouraged participation from the audience members. The vibe and energy throughout the show were stellar! Right on, man. Tips for enjoyment: Get there early, dress the part, bring an open mind, and attend the late show. I plan to go back before the show's residency ends in September; it's a far superior experience to regular clubbing in Miami!

They emailed us the day before with the information we should know, like parking ( which is never my favorite thing), entrance, ticketing, and more. I had VIP tickets and I went with my friend, we both had a great time, as we ate deliiiiiicious food, had tasty drinks, and enjoyed the different food competitions. The vibe I felt in here yesterday was terrific, everyone was happy, eating, and enjoying themselves. I loved that. With that being said, I don't expect oysters and caviar dreams but I certainly don't expect total dogs either. Beyond the fact that way too many food stands served taco's, I was surprised that some of the food was so far off the mark (I had salmon that was undercooked and horribly seasoned and another that served a salad of sorts but no utensils were available).
