Seriously the cutest coffee shop/book store EVER located in downtown Iowa Falls. They have seating outside and inside. You walk in and there is a coat rack and community board. You can feel the DMs town vibes and coziness as soon as you walk in. The front seating area has a piano and seating and tables. The coffee bar is in the middle and they offer seasonal items such as Apple Crisp Latte (which was delicious) & S'mores mocha. There were pastries and scones and cookies as well. There is beautiful art all around for sale. Different nick naks and magnets and key chains and bags and soap etc for sale. And some adorable crocheted animals too. A fire place greets you after the coffee bar with 4 very comfy chairs. And behind that you can do downstairs where all the books are kept with tables and chairs and couches. And upstairs is a Longe area with more chairs and tables and couches. A perfect place to meet and catch up with family and friends or to study and enjoy a nice place to hangout. I wish this was in my town, I would be there every day! Def a must! read more

Just a great little coffee shop! Warm, friendly, comfortable! Hot mocha was great - not so sweet like some places, which I appreciated. The barista and I talked about how many pumps of mocha was used so I No could adjust the sweetness. I love the little book store area,'used puzzles and other gift items n for sale. Lots of no options for seating- something for everyone; chairs, couches, etc. Get comfy, get cozy and enjoy your joe! read more

In an effort to venture past the comfort of chains and franchises, I Yelp'd for a coffee shop that boasted a little more local fare. I stumbled across this quaint little place in Historic Downtown Iowa Falls. The pictures really struck me. I love the chance to do a little reader-rummaging while sipping. Pictures on their profile were true-to-description. The shop had a welcoming, at-home, vibe as soon as I entered. The furniture, warm yellow lighting, and ambiance were really nice. I loved the layout. It had some seating on the main floor which split into two additional airs. A half set up stairs led up in to a cozy, but deep/open seating area. It looked like a living room to suit many instead of just a plank for customer seating. The second set let downward into what was titled 'The Book Cellar'. The Book Cellar is almost treated like a separate entity of the coffee shop. I was under the impression it would have been a separate shop based on its design/description. It was, however, simply a few bookshelves with a random collection of mainstream (or produced) titles and authors. This isn't necessarily bad, but I was a little disappointed. There was a lot of James Patterson, Dean Koontz, etc. There was not a lot, unfortunately, of what I was looking for. They had a cute little kid's corner with some children's book as well. It was a sliver of space at the back of the Book Cellar (all of this sounds a little haunting, but I promise it isn't). I ordered a black coffee, which was a fine. I had gotten there at the end of the day (30min. before close). My coffee wasn't really all that hot, but I would assume that was because they weren't making more coffee at this point. I got what they were waiting to rid of before the closed for the day. It was a medium roast. It wasn't bad. I'm sure it probably would have been better warmer. It took me all but five minutes to fully see what all this shop had to offer. I felt leaving a bit jilted since I just drove 20 miles to get a lukewarm coffee and book selection. Perhaps I just came at the wrong time. I may return if I happen to be in the area. If you're nearby student, I would recommend this place a light getaway to do studying or work. It has a lot of space and the atmosphere feels incredibly comfortable. I would say their coffee is probably better if you didn't go the time that I did. I wouldn't really recommend the Book Cellar portion unless you are looking for books for parent's to do easy, retirement reading. read more

Really cute coffee shop in Iowa Falls. I had an iced chai, it was tasty as those go. But I really enjoyed the ambiance and customer service. It is interesting how you enter the store, order your coffee and then there cozy, nooks and crannies located in an upper and lower level for your coffee experience, as well as professional, academic and social enjoyment. My husband and I enjoyed this little gem as we passed through and would recommend giving it a visit. read more

I read about this shop and made the effort to arrive early to find a good spot to relax. Good cappuccino and environment. Lots of choices for sociable or quiet seating in a long and narrow old time building that's been decorated subtly and comfortably. i plan on staying an hour or more and am pleased to have brought in a laptop. Cute space in converted late 1800's downtown mercantile building. Coffee was mediocre but not worse than I usually expect in a small town coffee shop. Iced coffee was weak, latte was okay but there was some disbelief that I might not want a flavor in it. I have learned from hard experience that if a coffee shop has two or three dozen bottles of flavor behind the bar the coffee is usually mediocre at best. That was certainly the case here. read more

To clarify, my rating is not in any way connected to the quality of the coffee served, or the atmosphere, or anything like that. This place is charming and serves delicious beverages. Very much the local "place to be" hangout. I am reviewing a specific, unpleasant interaction and simply advising other customers that the hours listed are misleading. Both the location itself and all online material declares that the place is "open" at 6:00am, but this is not the case. In my experience, the staff arrived to unlock the door at about 6:05, and then had to get the place set up and all the machines cleaned and turned on before they were ready to serve anyone. Then they served about four "regulars," who had arrived just behind us, before they got around to our order. As the person who visited with me would like to point out, there is nothing technically "wrong" with this . . . unless you have an appointment somewhere (seriously, why would anyone else be up and needing coffee they did not have time to make themselves at 6:00am??). Ours was a medical procedure for which we were already running slightly late because we had decided to come here first. And, when, at 6:20, I politely informed the barista -- who had been watching us, and was clearly aware that we were worried about time -- of this, and then asked if she would be ready to serve in time for us to make our appointment (a legitimate question, yes? as this is not the only establishment in town that serves coffee), she gave me a really, really dirty look, didn't speak to us for the rest of the interaction, and then practically threw our coffee at us. Granted, it was very early. I was in a bit of a throwing mood myself, due to, you know, having gotten up in the dark and not having had caffeine. But I was not operating a business. And, I'm sorry, but I do not care how small the town is, or how slow and charming the strived-for atmosphere, or how annoyed you are by a question: you do not treat paying customers like this, ever. In short. This establishment does certain things well. They do local-gathering, slow/timeless, small-town-charm well. They make good coffee. They have an atmosphere really conducive to studying or telecommuting. I have, obviously, visited before while staying in town, and had (mostly) good experiences (hence two stars, rather than one). However. Be wary of rude baristas. And, if you are on any kind of schedule, or need to have coffee in your hand sometime before 6:30am, this is not the place to go. read more
