I came into the store at 221 Glendale Ave and the staff was so helpful!!! I had been to 6 shoe stores prior and none of them helped me. As soon as I went here Amy was super helpful and actually made sure my shoes were fitting all parts of my foot correctly and even helped me tie them a special way so that the gap behind my ankle closed. It may seem trivial but this actually made such a huge difference and I felt so much more confident in spending quite a bit of money on the shoes I was buying. Wow, I came on here to rave about the Boot Shop and the staff and then to see a negative review (hey it happens), but then to read on what demonstrates to be a personal attack on the staff that work there. Just wow, unnecessary. Had a bad experience? Great, move on. People read reviews both positive and negative to help folks make an educated decision. I read reviews with a grain of salt, especially on sites such as this because just about anyone can give their two cents without even a consideration for professionalism or objectivity. Of course, there are always three sides to a situation, the side of each party and then the truth. Quite frankly, I feel a great deal of empathy for anyone that works in service, because there's a great myth that the customer is always right. Pure myth, but businesses have to set themselves up in a way to treat the customer as if this myth is true due to one thing only. The sale. With that, it seems that customers seem to think that they can treat store personnel in such a degrading manner, or unforgiving if ...gasp...a staff is having a bad day (wow, they are human). Anyhow, people have their inevitable right to expression, but be prepared for response and reaction. I work in human rights, and so it is an inevitable trigger for me when I read or see senseless personal attacks with things as petty as a shoe purchase. Onto more important things.... I came on here, to express a great thanks and respect to the boot shop and the staff that work there. I grew up in Niagara and since then moved to Kitchener, but I travel down frequently to visit family and of course shop at the Pen Centre. When I do go, one of my favourite things is shoe shopping there, and the Boot Shop is my first stop. Considering how many years the shop has been a part of the Pen, I bet a lot of people/customers feel that the store is a part of our heritage in st. kitts. My experience has always been awesome, I don't always make a purchase, but nonetheless I've always been treated with a lot of care and genuity there. Which is why I will always keep stopping in to take a look, and from time to time get a pair of shoes. I purchased a pair of shoes at the Boot Shop (Pen Cantre) a couple of years ago & the heels & soles (rubber composite) started to fall apart. I took them back in to the store to show them what had happened & the owner of the store actually insinuated that I had probably stepped in oil or something that would eat the bottom of the shoe. Definitely lacking customer service at the pen Centre store. Rude, pompous and condescending. I expected better from the employees of family owned and operated establishment which has been a pillar in Niagara since 1942. Obviously something has been lost in the present generation. As I have spoken to a number of people after my encounter and after seeing reviews of this store the sentiment is unanimous. Get customer service training ASAP cause you definitely need it. Improve how you deal with people because word of mouth is everything. read more

I specifically went to purchase purchase at the boot shop because I like to support small, main street, family owned businesses rather than corporate "walmarts". I was very surprised that the boot shop is still in business given that the level of serves is so low, disrespectful, rude and inconsiderate of the customer. This was noted at three of four locations where I was given the run around over a pair of boots that I could have easily bought at any Soft Moc, for the same price with a better return/refund policy. I will never purchase from the Boot Shop and advise that you do not support this store. read more

The boot shop has been around as long as I can remember. I remember my parents and even grandparents shopping there when I was a small child. When I want a nice good quality pair of shoes or boots I go there because it's close to home at the Pen Centre and they carry a lot of brands that I wear. Unfortunately, they have the worst customer service imaginable. I am aware that I am about to spend $200-$300 when I go in there, but you have to address a sales parson just to get some help. They all stand together having a conversation and never acknowledge you when you walk into the store. We were the only customers in the store! You would think that you would even get a "hello" when you walk into a store that sells more expensive shoes. We walked right by the cash and the man stared as us walking by. I made eye contact and still didn't even get a hello. I would rather shop online then go there. I always try to support a small business, but when the customer service is this terrible, just buy online. It's sad that people under the age of 45 are treated this rudely (and we are over 30!). The Boot Shop will not be around much longer if they keep treating people this way. The youth of today know better. read more

Just want everyone to know the terrible customer service that the Boot Shop provides for their customers. They will not take returns on defective merchandise. I spent over $100 for a pair of thong Clark sandals that the thong part ended up being too long and made it almost impossible to wear without them slipping off. They said because I wore them they can't return them. I said that yes I wore them (had them for a little more than a week) that is why I know that they are defective. My colleague at work has the same pair and there is nothing wrong with them. That's how I know they were defective. I told them you know what I will eat the $100 loss but that they had lost a customer and that I would notify all my colleagues about the terrible customer service and not to shop at the The Boot Shop. read more

I went into this shop with my friend to get a pair of UGGs... in other words we were there to spend a considerable amount of money only to have every person who works there ignore us. We were treated like second class citizens. I made eye contact with 3 employees and they walked around me. A woman who resembled a troll was the rudest of all. She was at the counter and walked right by me over to another customer. DO NOT SHOP HERE! They do not deserve your business if they think treating people like this is acceptable. read more
