worse than bad customer service!!!. i am an 86 year old, handicaped woman, who was suckered in by the boston globe, by an promotion of paying $1.00 to view the full article, of only one article, on the bos. globe. it was nec. for me to provide my credit card number to pay the $1.00 fee. i only learned yest. , providing my cc number allowed the boston globe to charge me $27.72 per month, for each month thereafter!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i called the b.g., spoke with jason who advised he could do nothing about it. i req. speaking with his supervisor who advised she could do nothing....i req. to speak w/the excalation dept. and stephany advised it will/would take over a week to hear from them. i merely requested stephany's ist initial of her last name...was advised it is b.g. req. not...not...not allow her to provide 1st initials!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i am owed $110.88 by the bos. globe!!!!!!!!!!! i will be spreading this info on all social media platforms. the boston globe, john w. henry and his wife/linda, are multi-billionaire, thieves!!!!! read more

It's a good, solid newspaper; but customer service is terrible. I wanted to cancel my digital subscription at the end of a promotional period. I'd been dinged for the full cost for one month, which I figured was my fault because I forgot about the subscription and hadn't cancelled in time. First, I tried to cancel online and discovered that you can't do that. You have to call during somewhat restricted hours. When I did get through, I cancelled the subscription and the rep told me that I'd been billed for the next billing cycle. The representative also told me that I'd be receiving the newspaper until early July. I had to call today with a question about charges on my bank statement and was advised that I had actually cancelled before the end of the billing cycle. I was told that because I didn't specify that I wanted a refund at the time of the first call, I couldn't get my money back. I told the rep that I didn't know that I could get a refund, because that wasn't presented as an option, and I made it pretty clear in this call that I do want a refund. The representative gave me the run-around and then disconnected the call. When I tried to call back, it was after hours so I just got the message to call back tomorrow. It seems, to me, that they're resorting to dishonest methods to try to wring every penny they can get out of customers. read more

Nine months ago ,I was inticed into trying the online subscription with a lowball offer, good for 6 months of the "e" version only of the Globe. This month, I discovered my bank account has been charged $27.72 /month since December,= $83.17 - has been cyphoned off for a product that was unused during any of this period and of no real value to me here in Minnesota. Customer service was unwilling to help me with my mishap. Don't fall for the special promotion ,you may not notice the beefed upcharges until they have a whole pile of clams weasled out from your account. read more

The deliveries have been missed and the wrong paper delivered. Redeliveries are never made as promised. Customer Service is an oxymoron. This best thing would be if the Globe just went out of business read more

Terrible home delivery service, very inconsistent and when I call to report a missing delivery, I am told a paper will be delivered... it never comes. I don't trust that I even get a credit when they say a credit is due. I am now on hold for 44 minutes as the recording says I am very important and will be assisted momentarily. My average paper cost is $3.95 which is outrageous for what I get... or don't get. I do however get a "tip envelope" every week that the paper does arrive read more

Twice now, I've had a terrible time with Globe home delivery. Most recently I cancelled delivery after only 5 days because the paper never came (except once when I had to contact them). The annoying thing is that I've been charged a non refundable $9.99 fee which I was never told about and further, is unreasonable given that I've spent more time chasing them down for a lousy newspaper and they've done nothing to earn their $9.99.
