I only gave it a 3 star rating because of the help I received from 2 sales people. They were very kind and helpful. A third person accused me of shoplifting or planning to shoplift because I was using a gift (money had been placed on deposit with the store) and not my own money. The Boutique is a shopping destination for Modesto. I felt compelled to leave a review after seeing how many unfair reviews had been posted. When you shop in a boutique you can anticipate a wide array of specialty items at various price points. The Boutique has something for everyone. I love all the different categories available. I can get dressed from head to toe. The buyer, has an exceptional eye and knows her market. I am always able to find something I love no matter the season. If you want something unique and of high quality craftsmanship, I would go to The Boutique. You won't find better shopping in Modesto. read more

I have to admit, I'm a little shocked at people's reviews considering I've had many pleasant experiences here. This is one of the few places in Modesto offering some high-fashion options. Yes, the prices are outrageous but you can find some deals if you head towards the back where the sales are. I've found a few beautiful pieces on at huge discounts. My most recent find was an absolutely gorgeous Rebecca Taylor jacket marked over half off. It was originally $550 (eeek!) and I bought it for $275. The Boutique - Women's Clothing Near Me - Modesto, California

I bought a pair of citizen jeans..really cute ones at that..and after wearing them about 5 times in the span about 6 months..they ripped???!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have another pair of citizen jeans from Macy's...bought about the same time... and worn probably just the same if not more times...and they are as good as new??!! Whats the problem here... I still have the jeans... I feel like taking them to the Boutique and just leaving them there...... "Here ya go ma'am...you can have them back" I was so mad...because they were about $30 more at the Boutique... I doubt they would give me an exchange or a partial refund since its been about 7 months now. I will never buy anything from there again. Everything is overpriced and some things are just not practical. read more

I've always really, really liked The Boutique at Salon Salon. I used to babysit for my esthetician when I was in high school and would drop her kids off at work at least three days a week...and I always some how ended up in The Boutique with a handful of items, spending all my babysitting money and then some! After spending a year living in China...The Boutique is the first place I went shopping (hours after my plane landed!) and I found the cutest Nicole Miller dress EV-ER. Pretty much every dress I wore to high school dances came from here because they keep such an amazing stock of beautiful formal wear. The prices on new items can be pretty steep (sometimes), but their sales are TDF. Seriously, I've stumbled upon some full-on fashion miracles on the sales rack in the back of the store. And, I must say, even Nordstrom's doesn't stock as many fabulous Nicole Miller items as The Boutique. I'm a Nicole Miller girl through and though! Some items are geared toward an older crowd, but they're definitely not short on stylish ready to wear for fabulous 20somethings! read more

First time in - was in a nearby store and decided to check it out. Definitely higher end items. Good quality, though many items seemed to lean towards a 'more mature' crowd. The associates seemed friendly, but I was a little perturbed when one was following me around the store the entire time. Mind you, I was in Chucks, t-shirt, and nice jeans, but it felt like I was being judged for being in there because I wasn't 'polished'. Kind of turned me off to this place. read more

My mother and I visited the boutique today. It was her birthday and I thought it would be nice to treat her to something nice. The two women greeted us upon entry, however, the followed us throughout the store the entire time. We demonstrated no suspicious behavior to give them any type of reason to suspect us being anything more than consumers. The experience made us mutually uncomfortable to the point that we left. Luckily, I had already gifted my mom a Burke Williams giftcard for she and her friends so I had no reliance on finding something there. I will continue to take my money to Walnut Creek where the associates do not treat customers suspiciously. read more

The clothes are SO UGLY. Nothing was in style..it wasn't even typical modesto where they were selling things that were in style a season before....THESE THINGS WERE NEVER IN STYLE. They have nice brands but like macys they seem to get the ugliest lot of the brands. read more

I walked in and the stench of processed hair greeted me at the door, thanks to the attached Salon. After a while, it didn't bother so much, so I stayed to browse. Fun for people watching- a cougar mom and her look-alike 22 y.o. "cub" (teased processed platinum, spray-on tan). The employees were nice, making contact with me, but not harassing. Some pieces were cute, some were marked way down; but mostly the selection is meh- if you find your size, it's not your style, and if they have something you like, your size is nowhere to be seen. I couldn't find anything to buy, and that's saying alot for me. Overall, not impressed, and I think you'd fare better at Macy's Impulse section. read more

I love this place! Yes it is a little expensive but they are selling unique items you won't see everywhere. I needed a cocktail dress and Macy's seemed like the only other option. Karie was super helpful! I am not a dress person but she helped me find the right style and fit to compliment my shape. I showed up in golf clothes. I think in my mind it would be like Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman but the exact opposite! Karie was great - so maybe ask for her next time you go in.
