Can I have this one and she arranged for me to move into 102 the people were extremely wonderful I had some friends already there and they just took me under their wing. That was a beautiful place with and I felt I'm hoping the others walk through the store and feel the same. I have been very happy and content and busy as much as I wanted to be with bingo and all sorts of activities. We've been entertained by wonderful entertainers and I feel like we have not lost anything of the outside world, I know that sounds funny with the world. I still have a car able to move around, but you become close to your friends here at Carriage Inn. All I can say is that it is experience to live here and a very comfortable place you feel that there's somebody here that cares about you

Since I haven't had experiences with other nursing homes I would have to give Creekside Retirement…read moreCommunity a 3/5. My 85 year old mother is convalescing for two broken wrists and a few broken ribs. She will be there about 6 more weeks. As far as the expense, I was surprised to see it is ONLY $157 a day before insurance! They have satisfactory nursing staff, but polite for the most part. They deal with problems calmly and professionally. The food is marginal. Fairly clean facility. The main issue we have is with the administration of medications. They do well at giving them, but care is not taken by medical staff in reviewing drug interactions. With the elderly often taking many drugs, this can be a MAJOR issue. My mother had all her health issues stabilized and under control before entering Creekside. They then started loading up the drugs, with many of them new. Her blood pressure then started spiking at 200/90 a number of times. Other new symptoms also presented themselves. After doing my own investigation into drug interactions, I concluded that there were no severe or major interactions with the normal medication regimen. However, with the new medications there were a number of SEVERE and MAJOR drug interactions. I brought this to the attention of the medical staff and suspect they will make modifications. Drug interactions are always an issue that must be carefully reviewed by medical personnel. Sadly, it is rarely ever addressed, and doctors continue to just throw new medications on top of the others to attack symptom. All-in-all I would recommend Creekside to others, but with the above caveats.

About 6 months ago, Jim passed away. The Conservatory is a luxury retirement home with an average rent of about $4500. As I walked through the hallways, there was fruit infused water to hydrate guests and residents. Near the L1 restrooms is a wall of fame of veterans as well as a Victorian looking stairway which led me to the second floor. I turned right into the hallway where table after table were the elderly residents playing games together. They were well dressed. We exchanged pleasantries and I arrived at the end of the hallway where the piano and event was. It looked like a pleasant retirement home with an expensive price tag to match. I can't help but sense the loneliness of a few residents as they return to their rooms.

My mother recently celebrated a milestone 90th birthday and Lynda Brown, the Director of Celebrations (yes, that's her job title) took the stress away from our family in planning this large event. April DelValle, the Culinary Services Supervisor and Michael Sevier, the Chef were also incredibly helpful in planning a private family dinner. I'm incredibly grateful for ALL of the staff who take the time to know my mother and inform me of her well-being when necessary. I know she is in good care and continue to live independently. The facility is beautiful and there are lots of activities for my mom to participate in----even church and senior fitness classes.
