Bella has provided wise counsel for a variety of topics such as marriage, children, career, grief, etc. She also provided hypnotherapy services which revealed layers of myself that needed healing and helped me reset and recharge. There has been nothing too big or too deep for me and my family that Bella has not been able to provide clarity and healing. I highly recommend Unlocking Bright Minds to anyone and everyone.

This was quite possibly one of the worst experiences in the history of therapy. It was as if the…read morecounselor, Devan, knew who was paying her to get the point across. I had personally gone through one of the worst times in my life and was dealing with PTSD after childbirth. This therapist was the coldest, rudest, non-empathetic individual. She decided it would be ok to "diagnose" me to my husband (now my ex) with a personality disorder after he begged for reasons why I was acting the way I was. This was unbeknownst to me until he filed court documents in recent years, citing what Devan had mentioned to him, as a could be, while I wasn't in the room. Devan is not accredited to diagnose anyone. She is not a psychiatrist by any means. I have a psychiatrist and nothing on my medical records shows what she indicated. Point being, this person is supposed to be an unbiased supporter and a helping hand to healing marriages regardless of personal opinion and persuasion. Again, making a medical diagnosis is so far from the scope of capabilities here. Unfortunately, unfounded, unprofessional, and damaging are better describing words for this organization.

I called in several times to get an overview with therapist Micah Brown for counseling and I felt…read moreresistance for genuine help from Devon Armstrong who is apparently a therapist and scheduler for this location. This location is in Fishers, Indiana. Finally, I left a message explaining we will keep looking if we are not able to connect with Mr. Brown and finally our message and contact information was given to him. He called us the very next day, very professionally answered our questions, level set our expectations in alignment with his experiences, and gave us our first date we would meet. He asked us to call the main number so we can lock in the date with payment. So I left a message at 1:43 pm (EST) explaining we would like to pay and get the information to have our virtual meeting on Dec 16th, which Mr. Brown verified was available during our call. However, we did not receive a call back until 6:07 pm from Devon and she stated he did not have that date open on his calendar. Now, why would someone agree to meet us and then commit our time to someone else which is very skeptical to say the least. Devon did not stop there but stated several times she could get us another therapist even though we specifically asked for Mr. Brown. She also did this prior when we were trying to connect with him initially; poor taste. Then after I pressed her back saying he told us to schedule December 16th, she said he does not have openings until after the first of the year and by that time my fiancé who overheard our conversation said never mind. Mr. Micah Brown is very professional and polite however I think he may be better off creating his own practice and provide a different avenue for clients and potential clients to engage with him. For Devon to be a therapist, she created more barriers than actively trying to connect us and that is not the type of person you want to deal with while seeking help.

Her knowledge around addiction is unmatched in my 20 years of seeing counselor after counselor. Her approach is evidence and study based, she will give her opinions but usually refers to studies and reasearch done for the last 3 decades. Then add to that her personal experience in meeting with addicts and alcoholics for many many years. She will not tell you what you want to hear, she does not sugar coat or minimize treatment. She takes it extremely seriously as she understands its life or death for most of us. She has had personal experience with alcoholism with a family member so she gets it. Her approach in addiction is direct which I need as I have the ability to manipulate and lie in many cases. She sees through my BS and tells me what I need to hear, not what I want to hear. We have discovered my patterns, triggers and signs when my disease is active. She has been a huge help and I'm so grateful to have found her and her willingness to see me even after several relapses in 5 years. She also has recommended some great literature and documentary's which I'm using now to gain more knowledge on my disease and what is needed and recommended by professionals and addicts and alcoholics currently in recovery. She also does marriage counseling which me and my wife do time to time to just stay pro active in our marriage. I'm moving to Montana in the next few months and will remain connected to Indiana as I have a business here and Toni and I have already discussed meeting when I'm in town which I look forward to very much. I look forward to our appointments each and every time as well as schedule our next appointment as soon as the session is complete which is also very convienant.
