A perfect place for a home cooked lunch, get away with friends and don't want somewhere loud, or want something "different" that's not anywhere close to fast food. Pies are made fresh and white chocolate banana cream highly recommended. They even put the filling in a cup for me as I need GF options. You go triple B!! Nice cute place that looks fancy enough of a lunch spot. I had the tomato bisque to start, delicious rich flavor that was good till the last tiny spoonful. For my entrée I had the scalloped chicken casserole with green beans and some fruit bread. I was very impressed with everything on my plate. Beans were homemade and not canned, very good too. The bread was fresh and had a lot of fruit in it, wish I had two pieces since it was really yummy. The casserole was everything I wanted, it was rich, creamy, right amount of even ingredients, and that lovely home cooking flavor we all love. They have several deserts, I got the wedding cupcake and that too was a homerun. Cupcakes are trendy and everybody makes them, but they know their baking craft when it comes to their cupcakes. The cream cheese frosting was amazing, the yellow cake mixture was perfect and didn't crumble, and it included raspberry filling! Perfect touch! Nice place. The food is very good. Have been here a few times. Fun place to go for a little different experience. They have a very limited menu (1 hot special, a few cold salads, a few cold sandwiches, soup and dessert). Having a limited menu is perfectly fine. However, the reason I gave it 3 is because it is very frustrating to go to the restaurant after looking at their daily FB post of what the special is, and when we arrived - their sign outside of the restaurant also stated the special, soups and desserts. And when we were seated the lady took our drink order and gave us their regular menu and paper slips that showed their daily special, soup and dessert. Again the only reason we came was for the hot special. When we place our order, we were then finally told "we ran out earlier". And the waitress then crossed it off the paper menu in front of us. It was only 12:05 - and they were out of it already. Had we known - we would have went elsewhere. I completely understand this is a small place and is very popular. The place was not very busy when we were there. There were three other tables besides us. I know that being a small town their lunch rush could have been earlier. But very dissapointing that we weren't told before we ordered. Especially when it was posted in front of the restaurant and in the daily menu we were given. Will go again, just wish that they'd either make enough to last past noon - OR simply just update their sandwich board or immediately cross of the paper menus. Again, just to stress though -- their food has been very good in the past and a fun place to go. Lesson learned: ask them before you are even seated. read more

I visit tea rooms as often as I can in the Midwest and this one was definitely a great experience. Light sandwich and soup options, as well as a beautiful tray of desserts. The décor is just what you expect in these kinds of lunch spots in the Midwest - shabby chic with plenty of doilies and frilly details. Can't wait to visit again! read more

This is one of my favorite eateries in town to go to for lunch. You can't beat a home cooked meal. The Swiss baked chicken is my favorite! The staff are very friendly and attentive to customers and the owner, Jackie goes above and beyond to make everyone feel welcome and that they are satisfied. I have not had any luck here. Ordered carryout twice, larger order, both times they forgot to include an order. Most recently i called to inform them of the missed order and the lady was extremely rude, made it seem like she did not forget the order as if i was, what hiding it somewhere? She reluctantly agreed to deliver the order but abruptly hung up on me without getting the exact location of where to deliver. Eventually, it made its way to our location but was cold. No apologies or accountability. Again, this was the second time this happened. Don't think we will be ordering here again. The food seems way overpriced as well. read more
