It was immediately obvious that the chocolate chip & snickerdoodle cookies were not fresh. They tasted & felt at least 2 days old. Perhaps it was our mistake for not asking when these were baked before choosing them. The iced shortbread & linzer cookies were good. The raspberry jam between the linzer's shortbread cookies was generous, making it messy to eat - but yummy. The puffy iced lemon cookie itself had a nice soft texture, but the icing on it was aggressively Sprite tasting, & overpowered the cookie. Still we enjoyed the soft cookie part naked. I love a jammy thumbprint cookie, because the cookie is soft & the jam is baked into the center to reduce it to slightly chewy. The 2 we picked here had blobs of jam placed in the center after baking, & the cookie part was almost crunchy, so every bite left crumb & jam blobs dripping on your hands. We got none of the chewy jammy centers or soft cookie parts that make thumbprints so good. I'm giving 3 stars overall because service was very warm & friendly, and the shop is very inviting. Perhaps the best cookies to get here are the shortbreads as they are very cute & seem to hold up well. Or any of the cookies we tried, that appeal to you in the ways they did not appeal to us.

Purchased two dozen holiday cookies, which came to just under $90. I don't mind paying for quality,…read morebut unfortunately the cookies were not that tasty, dry, and a little stale. Disappointed.

Now that they combined with the coffee place and moved into the former pizza store in the east end of town, they have really come into their own. Pastries are terrific. Chocolate croissant and kouign amman are world class!! Tonight we had a special cake for our daughter in law's birthday: chocolate/peanut layer cake covered in chocolate ganache. Amazing! Highest recommendation!!

I dream about this bakery. Seriously. One of the best bakeries I've been to anywhere, and it's…read morerandomly located in small-town Vermont. You literally can't go wrong with anything you pick out here, but these are some of my favorites: - Black forest crinkle cookie - a soft but fudgy cookie filled with kirsch soaked cherries and white chocolate pieces. - Chocolate orange hazelnut cake - I love anything chocolate orange, and this little cake packs a flavorful punch! - Almond Pillows - SO GOOD, new favorite! The name is a perfect descriptor, and the icing complements the almondy flavor so well. - Savory scones - take your pick, I've had most of them and they are all good. Crusty on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Last visit I loved the swiss & scallion and the ham cheddar herb. - Pistachio citrus rosewater cookie "Flower of Palestine" - new to me my last visit, but all the above flavors were subtle and very complementary of one another. If you're lucky enough to be there when the slabs of focaccia pizza are out, definitely snag yourself a piece. They have to serve the squares in order, as we learned, so you can't pick out your preferred square (crustless center vs. corner piece vs. one edge crust, similar to people's brownie preferences). The flavors rotate and there's usually a vegetarian and a meat option. The lady who's always running the counter is so sweet and friendly! There are a couple of tables and chairs if you want to indulge immediately, but I'd say it's mostly a grab and go kind of spot. I hear they are switching locations to elsewhere in Wilmington soon, so look out for that!
