Always a great experience to visit the Breakfast Club! Located within blocks of the capital, this breakfast/brunch stop can accommodate individuals at their counter, families at their small tables, and large groups throughout the restaurant. All fresh food, made to order, the provide amazing service at warp speed! Nonstop, coffee refills will keep you completely caffeinated and their brunch cocktails can help you to total mellow back out! Generous portions, great prices, and interesting combos make this a great stop for when you're looking for something a little different than a typical breakfast experience!
This place was delicious. Conveniently located downtown in the east village. Big portions and great drinks. I'll definitely be back. I'd recommend the breakfast burrito. It was packed with flavor and the queso on top was delicious.
This place is a banger. Feels very hip and very local, with lots of 60-70's retro and urban style in all they do. Bright colors and fun art pieces. I've noticed that every time I'm here I see lots of folks smiling and having a good time. That's a nice vibe. It's a bit cramped so accessibility can be an issue, but they're relatively kid friendly. The food is fun, with exciting options on the menu, and large portions. A bit on the pricy side but it's nice once in a while. They do have a full breakfast bar if you want to get something quick, and speaking of bars they also serve alcohol along with all the breakfast fare.
If you're a Gen Xer then you will love this place. We had a great breakfast while watching videos from the 80s. They have an electric and extensive menu and the service was friendly and attentive. Get there early on the weekends because this place gets packed.
Such a fun place to grab breakfast or brunch. Went on a Saturday just after 10. It was about. 30 minute wait. Server took our drink orders promptly and was able to make strong recommendations based on our preferences. The food was prompt and every one was happy and enjoying the atmosphere. We will be back
A fun and bright breakfast spot! They do have a patio in the alley. The inside has a decent layout, it can get pretty loud. However if you come in at like noon on the weekends the crowd does slow down a lot so you can get seated pretty quickly! I got their breakfast tacos and they were pretty good! Definitely a lot more messy if you get the eggs runny but the tortillas held up!

Easily one of the best breakfast meals I've had. I got the biscuit benny, and it was outstanding. The place was cute, the service was kind and attentive. Parking was simple. We were passing through from out of town and were very glad we chose it!

Cute restaurant with plenty of options. The chai latte and chicken and waffles were both excellent. The crepe flight was a little dessert-y and so sweet it was hard to finish. Service was nice and fast
First timers and it will be the first of many visits, as The Breakfast Club combines a fun and yummy menu, excellent customer service, a cool setting, and a unique interior to deliver a superb breakfast visit. We were lucky to have Joanie as our server because she rocked and made great recommendations. I loved my Totchos - tots, chorizo, black beans, scrambled egg, lettuce, jalapeno, pico de Gallo, and salsa verde - for one of the best breakfast meals I've ever had! My Better Half had a Crepe Flight and loved it. Pepsi products.
Came in this morning during my travels and sat at the bar. I was greeted by a friendly waitress at the bar and quickly ordered my breakfast. I ordered the egg white veggie omelette with fruit and black coffee. The service was excellent, treated me like a VIP, and Service with a smile. Inside was super nice and clean. Sitting at the bar was awesome and highly recommended.
It was a short wait for a Saturday at noon. The music and old school videos made the meal more fun and a conversation piece for sure. The loaded hash browns were a let down as they were a bit mushy and would have been better with a little crisp to them. The Gouda cheese sauce tasted more like Worcestershire than Gouda. My Americana had that oily glisten to it which we all know tastes bitter so no more of that. The vegi melt felt like it was missing something, it was pretty bland and even added hot sauce. Will we go back? Maybe. And that maybe will be at a different location. Our server we really nice and conversational so that was definitely a plus. Tip your server!

Super convenient to the East Village hotels, not far from the business district or the Capitol Building. We eat here almost every time we stay at the AC Hotel across the street. All of the menu is good, but my favorite are the omlettes or crepes. The service is always reliable and the people are friendly. It can get crowded on weekends for sure, and it's all street parking so be ready to feed the meter or walk a bit. Nice atmosphere, good food and convenient. read more

Breakfast Club did it again!!! Amazing food, great service, and good music. We visited just before the first big snow hit and had a blast. With a Christmas tree displayed, snowflakes hanging, and The Grinch poster on the wall, I'm really feeling the spirit, especially after a beautifully crafted Chaitini. read more

I have had this place a couple of times and keep going back for the Fiesta Hash. I love how they have vegan options and are able to customize a few nonvegan dishes. Have not tried their coffee but I think there are mixed reviews on it. The first time we went there, our waiter told us they could not substitute the chorizo on the Totchos for bacon, but for a takeout order they said they could, so mixed responses for some food alterations. Clean restaurant, staff is always friendly, love how they have second floor seating. read more

Stopped in this morning for breakfast after an appointment. Place wasn't too busy and we were seared right away. Definitely some new things on the menu to try. The decor is hip and lively, so it's always a fun place to be. i got the omelette. Sounded delicious, but something was off. Maybe the spinach or mushrooms, I'm not sure. For the price, I definitely won't try that again. However, hubs got the go-to amazing Cajun shrimp and grits. The flavor is out of this world. This time I wish the grits were cooked definitely longer, but the flavor and the shrimp combo had me overlook that part. We will be back. So many options to choose. It's hard to decide. But I can't wait to go back and try something else. read more

We stopped in for a quick breakfast. We didn't have any wait time and got seated immediately. The service was quick and the waitress was very helpful about the entrées since we had never been here before. They have a great drink selection with a lot of fun, unique drinks and mixes. Really loved the music and the ambience as well - very 80s! Food was top-notch. read more

Super cute restaurant!! 70's, 80's, and 90's music videos playing which it doesn't get any better than that. Service was good. I ordered a chicken and waffles which comes with gravy. Chicken was crunchy, waffle had some fluff to it, and the gravy was perfect. The gravy had sausage pieces and lots of flavor. Next time we drive through Des Moines we will be back. read more

We had an amazing time celebrating my daughter's first birthday. Our waitress, Myka made it such a special experience for us. I truly couldn't have asked for a better breakfast to celebrate such a big milestone. The food is delicious and the service was great. read more

Only noticed this place after passing by. We were looking for a breakfast place and decided to try it out. The food was amazing and the service was excellent. I had the biscuits and gravy and I would totally recommend them. They went above and beyond and made my daughter a chocolate chip pancake she wanted even though it wasn't on the menu. It is a must try if you are in town. They have a flight of non alcoholic mimosas which are great to share with kids or people who don't drink alcohol. The interior is very clean, nice, and pretty. read more

I really wanted to like this place a lot. The am usb e was fun and our waitress was amazing. The food though, was just meh. My waffle was dense instead of fluffy and the eggs were under cooked from how I ordered. The bacon was ok, but not great. My husband ordered the biscuits and gravy, and it was fine, but again his biscuit was very dense and the gravy had an ok flavor but nothing special. I think I will give it another shot in the future and order some mimosas with my food, maybe that will help the experience. It started getting busier as we arrived just before noon. read more
I'd probably go 3.5 but I'll round up because service was pretty good. I came here twice over our weekend stay in Des Moines bc A. They're really limited in brunch spots here... and B. There were enough interesting things on the menu to give a try. The first day, I got the standard bfast sub blueberry cream pancakes. The eggs and ham were solid, pretty standard. The pancakes really fell short for me... the menu said they were cinnamon swirl pancakes, but there was no cinnamon to be found. The base pancake really just lacked good flavor... I found them to be very bland. So I wouldn't get pancakes here again. My sister had the buffalo cauliflower omelette and enjoyed it but the mimosa flight was very juice heavy and I don't think they use real juice as they were all very sugary. Despite the pitfalls, we came back for a second time to try some different things on the menu. We were seated very quickly with no wait on a Sunday morning around nine. I started with the breakfast corndogs, which I thought were pretty tasty. I then got the standard breakfast with hash browns and added a jalapeño cheddar biscuit on the side. I thoroughly enjoyed everything this time! Good crispy hash browns. read more
