My fiancé HATES shopping, even if it's for him. I asked him to keep an open mind, but I think it was Paul that made it actually an enjoyable experience. Paul is very knowledgeable, helpful and personable, which is what made myself and my fiancé 100% sure to go with The Bridal Centre for the rental of the groomsmen suits. Not to mention the price to rent a suit (including shoes, not including a suit jacket - which is the look we're going for) was way under what we expected. I love that they make it so simple and convenient for the groomsmen and gives me a HUGE peace of mind knowing that the guys will look their best and comfortable the day of! The only reason I haven't given 5 stars is because we haven't yet rented the suits. I'll probably be updating my review after the wedding. Thanks Paul for making suit shopping a pleasant experience! I opened the bag on my wedding day and discovered obvious creases that had been missed (It had only been in the bag for 6 hours) I just got my wedding pictures back and I'm disappointed that these creases are obvious in pictures too. As a bride-to-be at the time of this review, I can honestly say that I can't, in good conscience, recommend the Bridal Centre to any other brides. If I were to sum up my feelings in one word: unprofessional. My experiences began by calling the Bridal Centre to book an appointment to view bridesmaids' dresses, and I was told that all appointments were handled through their online form (which is preferable to me, as I prefer to do as much online as possible). Imagine my surprise when I was contacted by the Bridal Centre and the email response was filled with terrible spelling, punctuation and grammatical errors, not to mention a glaring lack of capital letters. If you are attempting to establish an online presence and have that presence appear credible and professional and worthy of my money, do not send me an email that looks like it was typed with your eyes shut while wearing mittens. Consider that initial email as your first impression. After much painful back and forth emailing, a confirmed appointment, a flat tire and some handy construction workers (long story), my bridesmaids and I finally made it to the Bridal Centre to pick out their dresses. The receptionist ignored us for a good 10 minutes when we got there, just exuding professionalism in her chipped nail polish and bra straps with the tube top. We were finally "helped" when our consultant came over to see where her appointment was, as we were now 5 minutes late, and waiting impatiently in a very dated looking reception area. Like some control freak brides, I had a book of what I wanted for my bridesmaids - a certain feel and theme for the wedding. I had pulled style numbers and specified what colour palette I was looking for. I was surprised when the consultant didn't introduce herself, or ask us to introduce ourselves, or who the bride was. She didn't ask when the wedding was, or where, what colours we were looking at or if we had certain styles in mind. After about 10 minutes of waiting for her to do these things, I pulled out the book, and showed her what we wanted. The whole process was so frustrating because instead of looking at the style numbers and looking for those dresses, as well as pulling out swatches of fabric to narrow down the palette, she started pulling out dresses that were totally inappropriate to what we were looking for. We had to gently steer her away from dresses and remind her that we wanted a specific silhouette. Thankfully, my bridesmaids all settled on a great dress, in a fantastic colour and they really made the experience so much better. I can only imagine how much more fun the whole thing would have been if we were somewhere that was more professional than the Bridal Centre. I was so disappointed in the whole process, that the girls and I decided to order the dresses online, rather than give the store our business. Overall, the impression that the Bridal Centre has left me with is that they are terribly unprofessional. I would feel terrible recommending such a place to fellow brides, and have them end up with a similar experience. The decor is so dated and faded looking, and the staff was not at all pleasant to deal with, unprofessional and ill-prepared. If you were thinking of getting married, going to the Bridal Centre might just give you cold feet! read more

The staff here is very helpful, friendly and knowledgeable, and didn't mind that my Dad tagged along with the bridal entourage :) Competitive prices and a gorgeous selection. Went to the Bridal Centre to try on some graduation dresses. I booked an appointment for 12, got there on time, and did not meet with my stylist until 12:15 because she was "finishing with another client" when we were finally greeted, she informed me and my mom that we were not allowed to look at their grad dress selection, and instead had to tell our stylist what kind of dress I was looking for and SHE got to choose what I would try on that day. Was very disappointing because I didn't get to choose my own dresses, and the bridal Centre claims to have the biggest grad dress selection in Alberta, yet I wasn't even allowed to look at their selection. I would not recommend, don't waste your time. Plus, the dresses that I did get to try on (which were picked by the stylist) were not that good. read more

I Litterally want to cry They were amazing helping me pick put the dress Then after I bought it they tore the tulle on the outside layer Then after they did the first fitting I came in for my second And they had made the too of the dress (which was ordered way 2 fucking big) they basically took an xl top and made it xs that it doesn't even fit And they made the skirt of the dress 2 short! And I am already wearing flats!! And to make it worse my wedding is in 15 days!!!! They also messed up the bridesmaid dress when they brought it in and pulled out all of the pleating in the top of the dress!! I basically paid just under 600.00 for them to alter my wedding dress for them to royally mess it up Not leaving my complaint at the office I kno the owners daughter and taking it to them! Do NOT go to this store! Steer clear of this store. After my first e-mail to book an appointment was never returned I called the store to try on a dress I had seen on their webpage. They told me I needed to book the appointment on line. Imagine my surprise when I was asked to pay $50 for a "membership". For the extra money you have the privilege of not getting booted out after an hour and can bring your wedding party, not just the 2 guest you can bring otherwise. I opted for the non member appointment. Maybe that was why my services was so bad. When we arrived at the store and the consultant met with my mother and I (Late), she took off to look for dresses. I bet it was 20 min before she returned without the dress I had asked for and with two other dresses that were nothing like what I had wanted. After asking again she brought another dress and insisted that It was the one on the web page which it obviously was not. When I tried to tell her it was a different dress (no lace up back, no pick ups) she just sulked away. The consultant could have been a zombie for all the personality and effort she put into finding a dress. Finally if you are anything above a size 8 you are out of luck. I am a size 12 and there were only a handful of Boring gowns for me to even try on. The consultant kept trying to put me in a size 6 dress. Its not easy to feel beautiful in a dress if you can even do it up!. read more

Bad experience. I was not told the pricing up front, specifically for larger dresses. AFTER we had chosen out favourites and the bride had ok'ed them I found out my dress was more money because it was plus size. No one explained the pricing to me before, or during picking out dresses. When I complained I was not able to speak to the manager until the next day. When the manager called me, she was not considerate of my time. She was condescending and did not address my concerns. Finally, when I said I would buy the dress DESPITE the poor service I received I was put on hold for 10 min. Finally I hung up and called back hoping to give someone my credit card number. No one answered. Needless to say I did not purchase a dress there. I went elsewhere. I would never recommend this store to anyone. read more

The Bridal Centre was my fourth place trying on dresses. Earlier in the day I had fallen in love with a gown elsewhere and was going to cancel my appt but I'm so glad I didn't! I had Chantal as a consultant and she was lovely. She had prepicked out some of the dresses I mentioned I liked in my initial questionnaire, as well as some similar styles. She hit the nail on the head with the first dress! I tried on some more just to be sure, and she brought me a wide variety of different styles to try on for fun. I lucked out being able to buy off the rack, making my $1599 Enzoani dress a budget friendly $999! Even before finding this out, she worked within my budget. After reading some negative reviews I was worried I wouldn't be able to afford much with my budget but I tried on many couture gowns in the $1200 range. I never felt rushed, and I enjoyed the hour thoroughly! I didn't feel the need for the extended $50 2 hour appointment. Some brides just don't know what they want though, I suppose. I recently purchased a bridesmaid dress from the bridal centre. When there was an issue with the sizing I found the management and admin very difficult to deal with. They measure you for sizing with full clothing on- I questioned this during the measuring process which was ignored by management. When I received my dress it was 2 sizes too large. Management was not willing to help me with this issue (phone calls not being returned, emails ignored by admin). I will never go back here and I recommend for those who do to make sure you go with your gut when they are sizing you as they will not take any responsibility for their errors and will leave you feeling very uncomfortable and dissatisfied with your purchase. read more

Not impressed with the upstair interior, outdated pink/red carpet and burnt out lightbulb at the podium/change area... didn't make the bride-to-be shine. Our consultant was less than helpful. Dress selection wasn't a lot. Had to pay a "membership" fee of $50 and this would allow you to take photos in The Bridal Centre. Doubt I would return for any future dress shopping. read more

The bridal store was the third store we visited on a shopping weekend in Calgary. I had made an appointment beforehand and arrived on time. I tried to keep an open mind because the other two stores I had visited were disappointing but I did get a good gut feeling just before walking in. The receptionist was not very friendly, seemed bored with life and not wanting to be there, but whatever. We were told the appointment before us was running late and to browse for a few minutes. Approximately 30 minutes later, we finally got called. My sales girl was early 30's and friendly. I showed her photos of gowns I wanted and she asked me questions regarding budget etc. II put the lowest number in on the online form we had to fill out beforehand and she started bringing two or three dresses which I nixed due to them not being what I wanted. She then said that she had the exact gown I was describing butit was way over budget.I told her to bring it anyways since I had realized I would up my budget anyways. As soon as she walked around the corner, I knew this was my dress. She brought me exactly what I asked for and I tried it on. The gown fit like a glove and I bought it. (After a length money discussion with my friends....) The receptionist and salesgirl rang me through at the till which took another 30 minutes - my appointment seemed forever). Sadly the receptionist had still not recovered from earlier and was still bored, slow and not very friendly. I am happy with my experience because I found my dress, but the customer service at the front could really use an overhall. read more

Through researching online, I found the Bridal Center had graduation dresses in stock. I called to see if I could make an appointment, and they told me, I could just come in. Hard to believe for springtime. We went as the store opened one Saturday and they sent a sweet young high school gal to help us. I can't remember her name, but she was wise beyond her years with tips and advice. My daughter had specific requirements for her dress and tried on many. The sales gal was patient and kind and honest about the fit of each one, which I appreciated. We ended up buying it but had to have it altered. The staff fussed over my daughter, asking her questions about her grad, which made her feel so grown up. They shared her excitement over strange shoes and validated her choice, which was sweet. The dress was perfect when we picked it up for her grad. My daughter looked and felt like a princess. She was happy with it and so was I. I will definitely come back to the Bridal Center when my other daughter graduates. read more

Alright. I'm not usually one to post reviews, however, I believe I need to share my experience with hopes I will save a Bride-to-be from having to deal with what I went through. My initial experience was actually pleasant. My bridal consultant was helpful and I found the dress of my dreams. After that it all went downhill. When trying to order a proper size my bridal consultant seemed to have little knowledge on the sizing chart. The sample fit almost perfect and I informed her I would be happy with a dress that same size. I was told the sample dress was labeled a size 4 but the sample was actually measuring inbetween a 6 and and 8. She recommended I get a size 8. After some back and forth she agreed to order me a size 6. The dress came I and was very excited to try it on. I stepped into the gown and I was SWIMMING in it. I'm not just talking a little big. It was HUGE. I voiced my concern and even got my original bridal consultant to see what it looked like. She told me there was discrepancy in the sizes and this dress was measuring like an 8-10. They did not offer to reorder the dress. They suggested I pay to have it altered. It would have needed extensive alterations. (Oh right more $ in their pockets) and still would not have looked as it was meant to. They luckily still had the sample gown I tried on originally, however, they said they would not even offer a discount. I'm sorry but I don't believe in paying full price for a gown that has been worn. After stopping in the store to have my issue resolved, I was told no manager was in and that I would receive a call from the manager the next day. Days went by with no call. Finally I was able to get ahold of them. The receptionist/"manager" was nothing but rude. Honestly I could not believe the way I was treated. She would not let me speak to the real manager. She called me a liar and in the end hung up on me. I went into the store and was unimpressed to find the manager was equally as rude. I was calm and collected and went in to resolve the issue as a customer whose expectations and needs were not being met and was treated like garbage. All she kept saying was that I had signed a contract so too bad. As someone in the customer service industry I find this appalling. So because I signed a piece of paper and paid you in full you now can treat me however you choose? Honestly I highly suggest any bride looking to purchase from here to go elsewhere. Save yourself the hassle and disappointment. The dress shopping/ordering experience is suppose to uplift you and make you excited not upset and stressed out. Thankfully I have my gown but I am left with an extremely poor memory of the experience of this business. read more

I originally had a scathing review to post, however I must say that after much headache The Bridal Centre did do the right thing and refund my money. I'm guessing it had something to do with me leaving in tears and other brides witnessing this. It all started with an appointment with Sherry. I will call her Guerrila Saleswoman. She was pushy and very high pressure. She kept bringing me dresses that were nothing like I was requesting. She also made me feel very bad for needing a dress on such short notice, and said if I didn't choose a dress that day I wouldn't find one. She also kept reminding me at what point in the progression of my appointment we were, as if to say "hurry up and pick something or you will lose your chance". I was so overwhelmed that I started to cry. The ladies I brought with me and Sherry immediately teared up and said "oh, this is the dress, you're crying". I was too defeated at that point to tell them the real reason I was crying, and regrettably I bought the dress even though I did not love it. When I got home I cried even more at the thought of wearing that dress down the aisle. I emailed and explained the situation and asked the manager to contact me. Karma did call the next day and was friendly on the phone and agreed I could exchange my dress. She booked me a second appointment with Brandy. Brandy was a breath of fresh air, so warm and enthusiastic and she truly listened to me. We found an amazing dress that was just a size too small and she said she'd do her best effort to rush it in for me. This turned out not to be possible, so I called and spoke to Karma again and booked one final appointment. I asked Karma on the phone if I could use the credit toward tuxes or bridesmaid dresses and she said no, it had to be the same department. She did however say she would likely be there during my appointment and we could chat about it further. Fast forward to today, appointment #3 with Claire which was the worst of them all. From the moment I arrived Claire made it very clear that she thought my vision was ridiculous. She continually grumbled about not having any time to order anything in, and I finally said to her "I get it, so let's stop talking about it". Her attitude was appalling. Instead of listening to what I was looking for, she questioned me. She then proceeded to try to get me to try a number of dresses that I found hideous. Then she grumbled some more and then asked me why I didn't like the beautiful dresses she was showing me. I told Claire I was done, unless she could find something white, and I tried to end the appointment, and she just ignored me and kept showing me hideous dresses with beading etc, something that I made it very clear I didn't want. Well for starters they were ivory, I made it very clear that white was my only option. Eventually after 45 minutes I got tired of justifying myself and completely overwhelmed. I sat down and called my fiance and cried. During this, Claire brought over another ivory dress which I again said no to. I then walked out in tears crying to my fiance, vowing to never subject myself to that kind of treatment ever again. They could keep my $1100 and the dress, it wasn't worth the stress. I did however receive a nice surprise tonight when a manager called to offer me my money back. I went in and got my refund and was treated very nicely. I am happy they did the right thing, but disappointed that it took so much for them to do so. I certainly would not recommend the Bridal Centre to anyone. As for Brandy, she is way too great to work there, I hope she ends up somewhere else, she is a special girl! read more

UPDATE: As for the response they posted about this not being a legitimate complaint, here are the facts: * They admitted to ordering me the wrong fabric dress. * They never offered to order the correct one or give me a replacement in time for my sister's wedding. * Despite their claims to the Better Business Bureau, they never offered to do ANYTHING to make it right, even after the wedding. * I never had my calls returned by the manager, Julia. * I was told to stop calling because they had call display. * I was told to sell the dress on ebay to recoup some of my money. * Had someone returned my calls, I would have been willing to accept the right dress at a later date. * In a response to my Better Business Bureau complaint, they offered to refund my money if I removed my "slanderous" posts and admitted I was wrong?? (WTF?) * FYI, it's only slander (liable in this case) if the claims are proven to be false. An entire wedding party witnessed what happened and the way I was treated. Therefore it's not slander because I can prove these facts. * When the Better Business Bureau attempted to call the store to get the manager's last name, the representative was told he couldn't have it and to stop calling. * In their Better Business Bureau response, I was called uncooperative, but have never had a chance to cooperate because no one from the store has returned my calls. Now you can decide if this review is legitimate or not. And for the record, just because you've been in business for 35 years doesn't mean that you offer good customer service. It just means you're lucky Social Media wasn't around 35 years ago. Given that I could fill a football stadium with angry customers I have come across since my experience, things have gone down hill in the last 35 years. I've heard bad reviews from some people about this place, but I guess it depends on your sales consultant. I had Chantal, who was AMAZING! She was sweet and patient and helpful, and let me try on a million dresses to my heart's content, until I found what I wanted. I actually ended up buying two dresses from her: one was a short dress for later in the evening. I had several appointments, and on one of the second or third appointments she was busy so someone else had to help me in her place. She wasn't as helpful or pleasant. I was happy to get Chantal back for when I finally picked my dresses. The only down side is this place is quite busy so you only have 1 hour appointments, and you can't look at the dresses without a consultant with you, which means you HAVE to have an appointment even to look at the racks. This makes it difficult when there are so many dresses to go through, and if you're picky like me. I was looking for a certain style and fit, so it took me 4 appointments to finally find what I wanted :) I love the fact that they have a large selection - makes it easier to look at it all in one place rather than in many small boutiques. However because of the mixed reviews I read, it seems the service you receive is hit or miss. By the luck of the draw I had a great consultant, but I hear some of the other ones can be rude and impatient. Good luck everyone! read more

Probably my worst shopping experience ever. Went looking for a grad dress for our 3rd daughter. First time in this shop. We had no one assist us, 30min into our dress trying on experience when we already decided we are leaving someone had the courtesy of stopping to say they would have additional dresses in November. Sadly bridal center your loss as we will NOT be back and we have 5 daughter ages 22-15 and will be looking for wedding dresses in the near future. You can count your shop will not be on the list. How embarrassing to give such crummy customer service. I expected more and have just left greatly disappointed. read more

Let me start off by addressing the good; good selection on dresses, clean, well organized store, and kind staff (just not equipped with any problem-solving skills at all) HOWEVER, If you do purchase your dress here i would highly recommend taking it elsewhere for alternations. Here is my story: Note the following -I had a formal Engagement Party in April -I have 6 Bridesmaids (one is also a Bride, with 6 maids) -We have 6 groomsmen -I am still in the market for wedding gown I went here in search of a cute, short dress for my Engagement Party that was in 6 weeks so i needed something that fit right away. I found a dress that fit me perfect off-the-rack aside from the tule straps being an inch too long. What should have been a quick an easy fix turned into a nightmare. They do not know the meaning of "Measure twice, cut once". I went back a week later to put on a dress that what choking me, giving me back-fat i didn't have and so high up it no longer zipped up in the back. Instead of 1 inch they took off 3!! And there was apparently no extra tule to re-do the top even though this dress is THEIR EXCLUSIVE DESIGN! Ordering in another dress was a 6-8 week wait. I tried to be calm with them over the next 2 weeks of 6 different fittings as they dropped the waist and found a way to make the dress "Just fit" for my party. It was still too tight on my shoulders but i figured with a week left it would have to do. Well i wore it and the tule was in such stress at the party it frayed and I had bruises on the tops of my shoulders for a week after. I took it back to get fixed. I told them i want the top of the dress re-done. I want them to call the designer, find some matching tule and re-do the top as it was when i bought it. Nope. They simply added hideous little lace flowers that didn't match the design over the tear and called it a day. When I saw it I just burst into tears and the girl at the front desk, clearly incapable of dealing with problems just stood there staring at me, saying over and over that the dress looks fine. It took 20 minutes before she went to find a manager, and then came down to tell me the only thing they could do was refund me %20 of the cost of my dress. Not even adding in the original alteration fee I paid. That was NEVER offered to me to be refunded. The dress still does not fit me. I have no clue where to find matching tule to get it re-down myself as it is THEIR design, and THEIR exclusive colour. DO NOT GET ALTERATIONS AT THIS PLACE! THEY ARE AMATEURS. read more

I was hung up on, on the phone, when I did not want to give my credit card number in order to make an appointment. When I called to make an appointment, the woman was initially pleasant and helpful. I gave my email address to receive their survey so I could be "better served at my appointment". I learned from the survey that in order to make an appointment, you must give your credit card number, and if you 'fail to honor your appointment' your card will be charged $50. I called The Bridal Centre back and explained I am not comfortable giving my credit card over the internet/phone to a business I have not decided to buy anything from yet and do not have a business relationship with. When she explained that this is a necessary part of the process, I said I wouldn't be coming in for this reason. There was a bit of silence on the other end, so I offered that I was letting her know this as feedback for her business. The woman said "Sure" and hung up on me. read more

I had a fantastic experience at the Bridal Centre. I had shopped at a few other places in the area, and the dresses at the Bridal Centre were above and beyond anything I saw at other stores. The staff has always been kind and friendly, and has never rushed me. They have encouraged and allowed me to come in and try on my dress with accessories I purchased elsewhere, and let me stand there for an hour enjoying my experience. The staff also allowed me to take photos, and even took photos for me! At my dress fitting, it took a little longer than the appointment time they scheduled, and the shop was closing. Rather than making me feel rushed, the other girls working there made my experience even better by joining my group and complimenting me on my accessories and dress. I couldn't have had a better experience. I have not received my fitted dress back yet, but I have confidence that the nice girl doing the fitting knows what she is doing, and she had great advice on how my dress should fit. I would highly recommend the Bridal Centre. read more

The customer service here is absolutely terrible. Once I was FINALLY able to get an appointment (their booking system leaves much to be desired) I felt rushed and unimportant. When the consultant found out my budget she told me that they had nothing in the store for me and I needed to spend more money. She then proceeded to bring out the exact type of dress that I said I didn't want to wear for our casual wedding and just kept trying to get me to spend more money. Brides, save yourself the trouble and heartache. Do not buy your dress at the Bridal Centre. I found my dress at Bridal Debut in Edmonton, the staff were amazing, friendly and so helpful and never once made me feel like I was a cheapskate for having a lower budget. read more

I purchased my wedding dress here and also got my alterations done by their in house seamstress. Service was pretty good on my first appt, but not super great service when my dress came in (they didn't have my exact style so I ordered another one that they did not have on the floor). Took almost seven months to come in. I'm pretty no hassle, but after they went through the issues with my dress (nothing major, the inside part of the straps were too long, so they were just going to tuck the excess into the dress) and bringing the hem up. Since the dress is covered in beaded appliqués they would have the reshape them and bring them up so it would be correctly sewn in. Sounded good, I agreed. What they did instead, was shorten the entire strap of the dress so the whole body was two inches higher up. It did not fit in the waist anymore, since the waist of the dress was now at my rib cage.. also very hard to breathe. I was a little angry but whatever, I love the dress so it wasn't a big deal. I just didn't really eat a whole lot! I called and they wanted me to bring the dress back, but I had picked it up on a friday, and was leaving on the monday because I was getting married out of the country - no time for more alterations or for me to have to go all the way out there and back. Now they day of my wedding as I am putting my dress on, I notice that they did not reshape the appliqués and move them up, they simply cut through them and had sewn the hem right over top.. with bits of the appliqué base threading and crooked crinoline hanging out. I figured not a big deal, no one would notice (my maid of honour was not impressed though, this dress was well over 2 grand and shouldn't look sloppy, with the alterations almost 3 grand). To my serious dismay, the hem started to fall off because she had only done a little quick hand stitch in one line across the whole hem! Walking across pavement completely burned the lame stitching out of the entire train. So.. I am currently sitting on my couch, hand stitching it again myself because in less than two hours i leave for another province for the reception. How would any bride feel if her dress started to fall apart in the middle of her ceremony?? Thanks.. but no thanks. :'( read more

I went to try dresses on alone here because my family was from out of province. The girl was rude unhelpful and made me very discouraged. I told her my budget which wasn't really low told her the dress I loved wondered if they could get it she didn't really answer me. So I suggested any other dresses by that designer was told they weren't in my budget which 1 had to have been , saw one on display was told out of budget. I left sad and defeated I don't think a 2000-3000 dollar budget is low! But yet she wasn't interested in helping me at all. Disappointing very disappointing. read more

Not only did they screw up the alterations on my daughters wedding dress the first time, I had to demand to be rescheduled to get it fixed. The second and third fitting went smoothly but when we went to pick up the dress from them 2 days before her wedding, they stained the dress, some of the threads of the ruching coming out and a finishing that we paid for was not done. Needless to say my daughter is in tears yet again because of the bridal centre. I would not recommend this place to anyone for a scarf let alone something as important as a grad dress or a wedding dress. read more

I went in November after having to pay the mandatory $50 membership. I asked for a simple reception dress (because I already bought my main wedding dress) and the lady who helped me seemed disinterested for that reason. I tried on one that was nice but because it was my second dress I hesitated on the price. I told the lady "I will have to think about it" and she made a face at me right away saying "Well if you think about it, it might not be here anymore when you come back". Um yes I am aware. Then I ask about buying off the rack and she replies immediately "You're not going to get much discount anyway" thinking it was all about the money. No, it's because I am getting married in 5 months and I don't want to wait for my dress to come in. I left without a dress. Someone emailed me the next day asking if I had any questions. I asked if the dress I tried on was available and to this day I haven't heard back. Do not come here. Terrible. read more

DO NOT SHOP HERE FOR BRIDEMAID DRESSES. All of the dresses that we ordered are too small and we all went in together and were measured by THEM! when we called to ask about this issue, just looking for help, as my wedding is in 1 month! They responded with no returns, aprox. $200 dollars in alterations and no discounts; They even said that it wasn't their issue as we signed off on sizes!! seriously? of course we did, we assumed that they were professionals that knew what they were doing! I can't believe that after ordering 7 dresses at 250 dollars a pop, they are still not even willing to at least meet us half way or help. This is not costumer service and they obviously think that they do no require a positive review. I am heartbroken, extremely disappointed and now have no idea what I can do with only 1 month left. I would never recommend this store. My daughter and our group were extremely disappointed and discouraged by the lack of service and lack of interest by the staff. When we were abruptly told our appointment was over, we only saw 4 dresses because our attendant spent so much time looking for dresses. And she certainly did not have any grasp as to what we were looking for as each dress was completely unsuitable. Thankfully, we then went to several small dress shops who's service and attitude was exceptional. We would never recommend anyone shop at the Bridal Centre. The smaller shops offer far more value and service. read more

I am sorry to say that the experience here left me feeling discouraged and rather sad. I spend a lot of money on my dress ( that i am in fact picking up this week and I do plan to let the manager know my thought) and NOT ONCE was I made to feel like a valued or special customer. People have many choices in today's world, and I chose to spend my money at this store, not knowing that they really don't care 'who' you are or to do anything to make you feel valued. The girl with the long blond hair with the scowl on her face at the front makes it her job to make you feel like you are an inconvenience and a bother, she is rude and is in the wrong industry. I think if the owners knew how customers were greeted - basically with nothing more than a blank stare - and how un-special they feel after leaving they would be shocked. For starters you should let that girl go, she made it feel like your store was doing me a favour - I am the one spending thousands of dollars!! There is one girl with a high pitched voice who i spoke with on the phone - she was very sweet & pleasant and helpful, but other than that the service here is not classy or what you would hope for when spending a lot of money and finding the dress of your dreams. I would recommend going elsewhere where the service is more personalized and they actually care about you. Here they are just looking to get your money and get rid of you. Unfortunately I never felt special or like their goal was to make me happy....I never met a manager during my time there or thanked for my large purchase which i could have taken elsewhere, kind of sad really and i regret buying my dress from this store. read more

I had a great experience trying on dresses at The Bridal Centre. My consultant Brittany was great; she was very nice and showed me a variety of dresses that were exactly what I had in mind. I ended up purchasing one of these dresses and it was absolutely beautiful. The alterations are of course expensive, but they do take a lot of work. However, when I returned after my first fitting, the dress was still not fitting the way I wanted at all, but after a second fitting, it was a great fit. The only other thing was that the dress came with some pieces of material hanging off that I was told would be removed but I had to point out a number that were still remaining at my final fitting, so keep an eye out for that. Also, after putting on my dress on my wedding day, on the way to the church my bridesmaids realized that they had left 2 safety pins (where the bustle was supposed to go) in my dress. I think they should have warned me that these were still on the dress as I almost walked down the aisle with them still in! Overall, I loved my dress and was happy with how it went. read more

I had a great experience trying on dresses and finding my dress at The Bridal Centre. My consultant both times was Cecilia. She was fantastic, super friendly and gave very thoughtful advice! Whenever a dress came in that she thought I would like, she would email me pictures and descriptions. The second time I went in, she was organized and already had all the dresses ready for me to try on. I never felt she was pushy, she was very honest and stuck to the styles that I liked. She was also reluctant to show me dresses outside of my budget range. Other reviews for The Bridal Centre don't seem great, but I think it depends on the consultant you get and I can't say enough good things about Cecilia. read more

I'd give them 0 stars if I could. My experience with the bridal center was TERRIBLE!!! I can not believe they are still in business with the way they treat their PAYING costumers. They are arrogant, rude, and unwilling to even have a conversation with you after you've spent your money. When ordering sizes trust your gut not what they tell you. Once your dress is ordered in the wrong size they will not reorder or pay for the extensive alterations. You'll be stuck with a very expensive gown that you are swimming in with only the option to alter the gown so much it doesn't even look like the same dress. Or if you are lucky they will still you the sample gown worn by how many other women for no discount at all. And then when you try to get a manager on the phone they will hang up on you. WOW! Great business ethic. Good thing I do wedding hair for a living so I can spread the word. read more

DO NOT use the Bridal Centre!! I'm still in shock over the treatment my daughter-in-law and I received recently at this store!! Over $3000 was spent here on the bride's dress, veil and all 6 bridesmaids dresses. When we went for a fitting for alterations to the bride's dress, they cut the crinoline, pinned the front half of the dress to hem it and pinned up the bustle so they could add some ribbons to tie the bustle up ... $455 later! The alterations were going to be almost half as much as the dress was for a simple hem and bustle!! After standing in line for 15 minutes to pay in full for this while we listened to one of the girls there argue with a customer on the phone in front of a lineup of people, they gladly took her money (by the way, they will not proceed to alter anything without paying in FULL first, which gives you no recourse should they mess it up). As the bride walked away with the receipt in hand, she reviewed it for an explanation of what she paid for and couldn't find one. When she returned to the front desk to get more details (after waiting in line another 15 mins) the front desk girl rolled her eyes and snickered when asked for a breakdown of the charges. The manager then came out and explained everything. When we asked them for a full refund and advised we were going to shop around for a less expensive seamstress to alter the dress, they refunded her money and charged $50.00 for the pinning fee, which seemed fair to us. We left the dress with them in case we couldn't find anyone. After making some quick phone calls, we found a less-expensive seamstress in BC (where the wedding is) and went back a half hour later to pick up the dress so we could send it to BC ASAP. They asked us to wait as they needed to pull out all the pins before releasing the dress!!! We pleaded with them to leave the pins in as we paid for the pinning service, but the girl we were dealing with would not and told us she didn't have the authority to do that. When we demanded to speak to the manager, she left us waiting another 20 minutes while she left to look for the manager. When I went looking for her at the back of the store, I was told she and the manager had left for lunch!! Finally, someone else came out with dress, less the pins and gave it to us. I was so appalled!! I told them at this point, they were just trying to make a point because we were not going to use their alteration service!! They didn't care and didn't want to hear it. Obviously, they didn't appreciate our $3000 worth of business! Since having this happened, I have heard of so many other horrible experiences from people who have dealt with The Bridal Centre. If you want to cut down on the pre-wedding stress, do yourself a favor and stay clear of this place!! I have never been treated so poorly in my life! It took me 6 hours to calm down. By the way, we found someone to do the same alterations for $180. read more

We came to the Bridal Centre to dress shop for the bride, our consultant did not congratulate the bride nor introduce herself to the bridal party. She did make the appointment fun and exciting. The dress styles were limited and instead of attending to the bride right away, she finishes tying or hanging other dresses. The $50 fee was ridiculous considering the fact that we did not get any special treatment nor the exciting atmosphere we seek. The place was gloomy and quiet, we did not get to sugguest nor pick any style dresses for the bride. I will not be returning to the Bridal Centre and do not reccomend this place to any bride either. read more

A BAD EXPERIENCE - THEY WILL STEAL YOUR MONEY. I went with my daughter one Saturday to shop for a grad dress. We fell in love with one and paid for it. The store did not give us the dress to bring home, said that since it needed a replacement hook that we could pick it up the following Saturday. Ok so we came home. We found out that we had grossly overpaid for this dress. The exact dress was online for more than $250 less! The next business day was Monday as they were closed on Sunday, I tried to cancel the purchase. They did not want to refund my money, I argued and even spoke with Julia the manager about getting a full refund, she insisted that it's STORE POLICY to keep 20% of the sale value for services rendered. No service was given. The dress was in stock, my daughter simply tried it on, I paid for it and the dress remained at the store. I FEEL SO ROBBED! read more
