Attended the service today w/ my wife and a friend who was not a member. We were not at all pleased that "Pastor Tom" did not acknowledge the service Vets. and
Memorial Day as has always been the case in our Chapel.
Further, he interruped the Singing Worship to berate the congregation for their lack of enthusiasm in this part of our worship. Had he been in any of the 8 AM services
for the past two weeks he would have seen huge participation and resounding clapping and smiling faces between each and every song. Hmmmm, perhaps
the lack of spontaneous joy this morning was a response to being deprived of seeing
April and Jeni and the rest of the group who used to galvanize the congregation in such a positive way.
As a retired professor, it was not lost upon me that Pastor Tom was not up to the task this A.M. Acknowledged, he is Pastor Chuck's friend, however, one must come to the affair w/ an awareness of the current holiday and attempt to incorporate that into the discussion. Instead, we were a captive audience listening to his vascillating accounts of his own egotistal episodes/ credentials/ or lack of them as he continually
stumbled w/ language and grammar skills.
It only a wonder when you have someone with the sterling attributes of Pastor Chuck
who conducts such a wonderful and flowing service time and again in his Bible Study, that you did not call on this asset. We all suffer a bit when we do not acknowledge
our own.
In today's case, Ex nihilio nihil fit
