The Bible alone (Sola Scriptura) is the final authority for faith and practice (2 Tim 3:16-17). Salvation (Sozo) Focuses on being "saved, healed, and delivered" emotionally, physically, and spiritually. May involve inner healing sessions. Salvation is through repentance and faith in Christ alone (Eph 2:8-9), with healing and sanctification as results, not the essence, of salvation. Hearing God's Voice Believers are expected to hear God speak regularly through impressions, visions, or audible words. God speaks primarily through Scripture. The true gospel is Christ crucified for sinners, bringing forgiveness, reconciliation with God, and eternal life (1 Cor 15:1-4; Rom 5:8). Prophecy Everyday prophecy is normal and encouraged, often casually practiced with low accountability. New Testament prophecy must be tested and aligned with Scripture (1 Thess 5:20-21; 1 John 4:1). Spiritual Gifts Heavy focus on miraculous gifts (healing, prophecy, tongues), often as marks of maturity or spiritual elite. All spiritual gifts are given by the Spirit for the building up of the church, but love and holiness are true marks of maturity (1 Cor 12-14; Gal 5:22-23). Kingdom Theology Often teaches "Kingdom Now" ideas: believers bringing heaven to earth by transforming culture, business, government. The kingdom is already but not yet. Christ will return to fully establish His kingdom. We are called to faithfulness, not dominion (John 18:36; Luke 17:20-21). Emotional Experiences Emotions and spiritual experiences (fire tunnels, shaking, laughter, visions) are emphasized as signs of God's presence. Experiences are secondary. True faith is rooted in truth, not feelings (Jer 17:9; 2 Cor 5:7; Col 2:6-8). Summary Sozo-style teachings tend to emphasize feelings, personal destiny, and supernatural experiences, often using Scripture selectively to support these. Biblical Christianity centers on Christ crucified, salvation by grace through faith, repentance from sin, and obedience to God's Word. I am used to a more upbeat worship singing and live music and Modern Christian songs. The songs at Christ the rock are Slow, kind of dry. Pastor does a great job preaching, however he too is a bid dry and never leaves his podium. If you want to bring in new blood to the church, you're going to have to step it up! I had to try another worship center as I had a hard time staying awake.

And the church always has Some sort of gathering whether it be Study Groups, Church Camps, Parents Night out, Woman's Tea Parties or PotLucks. So why not head over to Evergreen? We'd been to a couple of their Christmas services and we miss going to a big church, so this fit the bill. The worship music was awesome and the new pastor is young and funny. He's not as good as my pastor to be honest, but he's good and has a lot of energy. I like how they have both self-serve coffee and baristas so you can purchase a customized drink. Plus they serve pastries from The Bread Peddler, which is the best. We went to the service at noon and there was enough parking, even during service so it was nice and easy.
