I also found that the many people I met in the SoA community became amongst my most interesting and honest friends and now I have to spend the rest of my life convincing myself that I haven't somehow ripped off the business that treated me so kindly. School of Attraction has come up with as many ways of delivering its promises to help people as there are people it's made promises to help. Some men ask for assistance in meeting women, other people ask for confidence in social gatherings, overcoming fear or shyness, making friends, having better conversational techniques, better relationships, how to simply be themselves around others and the list goes on but they end up getting all of the above. The coaches you meet really get to know you, find out what it is you really want and then do everything they can to help you get it. They want to help you get what you came for without having to cheat, lie, rehearse or anything else that would diminish the experience. Like any business that is worth a cent of your money, they don't just try to wave a magic wand and think that it's all done. They both help you and teach you how to help yourself, plus you end up having a damn good time in the process. Everything I've said so far has been rather remarkable but in truth, it's the community that is the remarkable thing about it. That's what my class on How To Publish An E-Book was like, it was useful and fun and bridged boundaries, from the mummy bloggers to the mountaineer to the old Greek dear who wasn't quite sure she was there. Everyone was hungry for information and the SWC obliged with Anna McGuire, a published author and former stalwart of Harper Collins and the publishing game, starting at the basics and rocking on to insider tips, of which there are a metric crap-ton. I liked the classroom. I liked the whiteboard and projector. I even liked the instant coffee and stale Arnotts Assorted biscuits. It was all, idk, nostalgic or something. Like being back at uni only there wasn't going to be a test.

My course was only a few hundred dollars for four weeks, and gave me the tools to pursue travel writing using tips from an industry professional who was more than happy to share her insider knowledge. The classes focused more on how to go about getting your writing published rather than the craft of writing, but our teacher was happy to answer queries about writing style and we had a workshop during the final class to get feedback on examples of our work. The Centre itself is also really great at keeping in touch with former students via regular e-newsletters and has a very informative, interactive website.

The course took us through the history of the coffee bean, and how to identify different types of beans, either Arabica, or Robusta. Two people per coffee machine, we were taught lecture style, about the technique, and then asked to do it ourselves with guidance. Starting with technique to froth and pour milk, then coffee. So there are several things required to be correct for a good coffee: - Water at 92 degrees - 7 grams of ground coffee - 30ml of pressurised water - 18kg of force when compacting coffee - between 20-30 seconds to push the pressurised water through the ground coffee It was a great time, and they also offer coffee froth art classes, to do on the same day.

It was amazing how quickly making those cappuccinos and lattes came back to me. It was heaps of fun, although it was a bit cramped having to share a coffee machine with another person; although it was around the MasterChef time, and the foodies wanted to do more and more with their creativity; especially when cooking courses were also in vogue. It was great to be served a delicious hot chocolate by Babette before I started my 3 hour all you can make coffee journey on a Saturday afternoon, and I actually now know how to make chai lattes too. It was easy to make the coffees, drink them and then bin them. I felt sorry for the cows that afternoon considering that I used a garbage bin full of milk while singing to the music and bopping around while I was making the coffees. At the end of the course I was exhausted. They then taught us how to clean the coffee machines, and I was just way too tired to listen.

But for most courses they offer different levels so you can go onto advanced Ancient Mandarin Calligraphy next time the programme comes out.
