As Gluten free goes, I had the best burger in a very, very long time. Just thinking about it is making my mouth water. I had the one that looks like a Big Mac. The meat was charred to perfection and juicy on the inside and the gf free bun was absolutely delicious-- not those generic ones that taste bland -- I admit the extra $4 for it was a bit of a shock. Oh my goodness! If you are looking for an amazing sloppy burger you MUST try this place. No hangover will survive this food :P The burger were all amazing, smash burger style that had the crispiest edges, sauces were amazing and the buttery bun was delightful. Last time I had Burger Priest was when they first opened their location Downtown, I really enjoyed their burger, especially Peter's Denial. This burger run was a less indulgent one. Their lunch special had their standard cheeseburger with an order of fries and a drink all for $10. Heck Ya! We both had an order of that and decided to share their Mint Chocolate Chip milkshake.($4.95) The satisfaction of that first bite into that burger was gratifying. The patty was juicy and meaty with residual fat juices dripping down and soaking the bread with extra fat and flavor. I had given their downtown location a pretty high rating before and it's trailing for this location too. Biggest difference was service here, everyone was really friendly and the wait for food was barely 10 minutes. The consistency of delivering such satisfaction between both locations with just a simple burger, remarkable. Milkshake was less impressive, being more watery and not as strong in flavor than you'd expect from the name. Portion of fries was kind of ridiculous, definitely could have shared just the one bag, but we got to snack on the rest of them on the drive home. Checked out this new place in south common today. Love my burgs so this has ben on my list of places to try for a bit. First off they have the standard menu items for a burger place: burgs, fries and milkshakes! Yum! Of course I'm on a diet so didn't have the milkshake but oh man I have to try it soon. The burger itself has a very nice taste and it's not dry. I has the keto bun and it wasn't half bad. Where there are opportunities though is the ant of lettuce and sauce. I like a good amount of lettuce and they has a thin piece. Also they barely has any sauce. I like my burgs to be somewhat messy without overpowering the meat taste. The name of this place really caught my eye as I felt captivated to check this place out. I went in with a lot of high expectations, but the second I walked through the doors, it all came crashing down. The ambience was somewhat down and depressing with black and white throughout. There was biblical scripture on one of the walls that ran from top to bottom, where I lost interest after reading about three lines. The service was indifferent: The staff consisted of millennials in their late teens, who were neither rude or friendly, and seemed as they would rather be somewhere else. Then was the issue of the price... Including tip, I paid about 18 bucks for a burger and fries, well at least I had thought. Upon leaving the establishment, I realized that there was a cooler where people grabbed their drinks which may have been a part of the combo. As I drove home frustrated and thirsty, I was debating if it was my lack of assertiveness or that the attendant did not inform me of the available drinks for my selection. Aside from my gripes, the food was very tasty. I ordered the 'High Priest' burger combo(burger and fries). Quoting Jules Winfield from the movie, Pulp Fiction-"It was indeed a tasty burger!" It was a double patty, with cheese, lettuce, and pickle. My best description would be that it had the best characteristics of what a burger should have: juicy, ample, and flavourful meat in good proportion to the bun. Although it was a double patty with cheese, the bun kept it all together without it falling apart. The fries were also delicious. But for some reason within 4 hours of having dinner last night, my wife, 3 year old son and I were all throwing up and had terrible diarrhea. Obviously connected to the food because all 3 of us were starting to not feel well within an hour of consuming the food. I was looking forward to trying this Canadian chain as I'd heard good things. The decor was cool, and the place was clean, and the staff were all friendly. Many things on the menu looked delicious, but I eventually decided on the special edition "Esau's Birthright", described as a burger with mushrooms, grilled onions, swiss cheese, bacon, BBQ sauce and premium beef patty. Sounds amazing, right? Unfortunately however the burger was only average. Once this location opened up in the south common area I was super excited seeing as I would have to make the trek down town if I was craving a double California. I definitely prefer this location much better than the one in downtown as I find that the staff in downtown is super rude and never seem as if they're happy to see you. That being said, the staff in the south common, despite the bad reviews, are always super friendly towards me whenever I'm ordering from them! There are off days where I'll encounter a little attitude from the cashiers but I know everyone has bad days sometimes. My regular order is always the California classic, the buttered buns are TO. DIE. FOR. And I always pair it with chilli cheese fries if I'm super super hungry. The portion they give you on the burgers is fairly standard sized, but a bit pricey averaging 7-13 dollars per burger. But i believe it's worth it since it's not an average burger! I must admit, I was curious about this place because I've been to the downtown location. Despite the bad reviews, I thought I'd give this place a chance at redemption since it's conveniently located near the grocery store...They literally share the same parking lot & I decided that I shouldn't grocery shop on an empty stomach. That being said, there's lots of parking, they even have bicycle parking outside. Inside is bright from natural light & it's more spacious than downtown, but seating is similar in that it's almost like a cafeteria. Food is also served on metal trays cafeteria style, but at least they are generous with napkins. There are high chairs and change tables available here. Staff are friendly & totally up with housekeeping. It's immaculately clean & every time the cashier wasn't busy, she was cleaning up the place. The menu is simple, keep in mind, there is also a secret menu posted on their website; unfortunately, the secret menu items kinda lack on descriptions, which makes it hard to order from. Price to portion size seems steeper than its other competitors. I was still feeling hungry after my priest burger & regular sized shake and that cost just over $16 pre-tip. I also find it strange that there is a tip option, when you have to pick up your food at the front with your ticket number & clean up after yourself. Flavour options are pretty decent though. Beef was fresh, but, pretty greasy like mentioned on some reviews here. I think if I come again, I'd go for the 'what's right' combo cuz it includes double cheeseburger, chilli fries, cookie & drink for just under $18...just more for your buck in my opinion. read more

When burger priest first came to edmonton they were fantastic. This is just disappointing now. The burgers are ok, the fries are garbage, the interior is dirty and since they got rid of their fountain pop machine if you get a combo you must pay the additional charge for a can or bottle which is absurd since their combo price was supposed to include a drink originally. On the plus side the staff are very nice. With both 5 guys and fatburger having similar pricing so close to this location my advice is go to those places instead. read more

The service was decent, cashier was polite enough. Our meal took quite awhile but it was a Saturday and the place had a few other patrons so again, didn't think much of it. Then we got the food. I don't know how you make a burger absolutely tasteless but Burger Priest managed! The burgers were not good at all, very plain dry patties. Went twice... got the Nathan's chilli dog and chilli fries first time. Went close to closing so wasn't busy... service was ok. The chilli here reminds me alot of tacobell meat. That's ok cause I like tacobell but it's not exactly what one expects for chilli. I am not sure how the hotdog is cooked but man it was small. Like a small size 7-11 hotdog only 4 times more expensive. Wont order that again. Fries on the other hand felt unique and the amount of toppings was generous My second time ordered the blue cheese burger... wow was it tiny... like a value burger size but cost close to 7 dollars. A second patty is available for another 5 dollars. Taste wise, this was the best thing I ate here... really really good. Had the fries again but let them get cold before I could get to them. They aren't very good cold If i was making 3 times my wage at work I think I'd be eating here more often. They have an interesting menu I'd like to try. This place is definatly a gem. The menu is a little unorthodox but they definatly have some tasty creations. Ive been here twice now and both times the staff were super friendly. The only downside to this place is they need to be more thurough at cleaning the tables. I have never been to the other locations of Burger Priest in Edmonton, but when I saw this location near where I live I thought I would take a chance. First off, Burgers are what I know best. I have been visiting burger joints all over North America and have been pleasantly surprised from different variations and takes of how to make a burger. Usually though, I would never rate a burger from a fast food joint because they are owned by giant corporations. However, Burger Priest looks to be a small chain of fast food joints located in Ontario and now in Edmonton and could possibly be Canadian owned. The burger joint looks like any fast food place from the outside. The location was quite interesting as it is located in a tiny strip mall in the parking lot of a supermarket. You will need to know the area or have GPS to find this place unless you shop at the market where this business is located. Walking in there was a nice smell of burgers cooking and a reasonably well laid out floor plan. On the wall there was the story of the Prodigal Son on the left and to the front was where you would order from. Seating was limited and was not full. It is never a good sign when there is no one sitting at a restaurant, but because of the time of day and it being a reasonably new location I took the chance. Menu looked great, number of burger variations with different takes. The burgers were cleverly named and well described on the menu. My wife asked for a gluten free option which they accommodated at no hesitation. We ordered our burgers and fries along with a drink. Drinks are in cans and you get to choose yours from a stand-up cooler. Once ordered, you receive a number and you either stand and wait if you are doing take out OR you grab a table and wait for your number to be called. My wife checked out the bathrooms and said it was clean and that there were no issues. The place was quite clean which I appreciate. When our number was called, grab the 2 burgers and fries and sat down to eat. When I was at the counter I notice that they have fresh patties which they either hand press or machine press. Was very excited to see that. Burger presentation is simple and that is what I like. It is about the taste and my first bite was great. Lots of juices and flavour. It is a greasy burger, but not overly greasy as some other reviews have said. Fries were excellent, well seasoned and maybe the best fries I have had in the last week or so. All in all, this was a great burger. My wife said the gluten free option was wonderful as well. If you check out the website or if you are a Burger Priest regular, you will know about the secret menu. Check it out before you visit - looks like there are some dynamite items eat. I think for this place being a fast food burger joint I would score it high. However, if this chain continues to grow I would imagine that some corners would be cut in order to save cost etc. If this is the case, I would then expect that the quality of the food would decrease significantly - but as mentioned in my previous reviews - this is just my opinion so go out and check it out for yourself! read more

These were the best burgers I've had at a burger joint in ages!! The beef was super fresh and the chili cheese fries were super delicious. My husband ordered the Vatican city burger and was delighted with how tasty it was. The regular plain jane fries were anything but! I will be back again anytime I'm craving a burger. I'm usually not to critical when it comes to service in a hospitality industry because I've worked in it before. When there's a rush with inexperienced workers it can be overwhelming I get that.but I just witnessed a worker clear out the Garbage bin walk behind the counter and immediately grab a few ketchup bottles and trays. Then commence to make a shake and not once did she wash her hands and then went to the til, then went and put a new garage bag into the bin she cleared a few moments earlier. Now if I had witnessed her making my burger I would have made a scene and collected my money back. Let's start with the negatives then go to the positives . We lined up there was 1 cashier / took like 15 min to move up one person . Meanwhile delivery drivers were coming in and out with orders .
