I enjoyed my one-night stay here. Parking is right next to the hotel. We paid it through the app. The room is nice and clean with plenty complimentary toiletries. It has refrigerator and Nespresso machine. It includes happy hour crackers, cheese, and good wines from 5-7. Breakfast is from 8-10 serving waffles, bread, cereal, yogurt, muffins. I love the Starbucks coffee machine that makes freshly ground coffee. They also provide high quality teas. We also enjoyed the pool and jacuzzi. Just got back from 4 nights at the Cabana Inn. The room we got was nice enough, definitely could use some updating especially in the bathroom where the grout was really bad...but I know the climate there makes maintenance hard so no big deal. The common areas were nice, location was fantastic. The reason for my low star rating is we feel like they really scammed us on the golf cart rental. We rented it for 48 hours because the difference in a 24 and 48 hour rental was only $30. So $220 for 24 hour and $250 for 48 hours. We wanted it another day thinking that adding on a day wouldn't be that expensive but we were wrong...they charged us another $220 instead of giving us a good deal for adding a day they charged us the 24 hour rate again. We asked about it but the guy infront gave us zero room to negotiate. We'll find somewhere else to stay next time as this is very poor customer service. read more

Very dissapointed with this resort. $400 per day and we get a foul smelling air conditioner, so much mold in the shower grout flip flops are needed. Didn't clean our room as promised. The happy hour is a joke. Cheap wine and two varieties of cheese. Breakfast is good if your a carb and sugar junkie. I asked for the owner to contact me but I guess he/she does not like to make any improvements long as customers keep coming. We will not be back. read more

Excuse me for writing a review from a few months back, but I just needed to take a moment to think about my days in Key West. I mean can you blame me? It's tough to not want to reminisce about that place, especially when you have a super chill and relaxing stay at The Cabana Inn which is where my buddies and I spent our Floridian nights back in February. The place itself is right off of Duval Street but down far enough to give you a little space away from the riffraff. It's also a bit inconspicuous as the tall-gated fence keeps the Inn somewhat secluded. This is a great feature to Cabana as you'll feel like you've walked into your own little private getaway once inside. The courtyard/pool in the center of most of the rooms is the, well, centerpiece to the place. Just the right balance of sun and shade with a handful of lounge chairs and a vibe of pure bliss. Surrounded by that bliss is one factor that continuously shatters the calming effect Cabana Inn has: roosters. Their logo has one on it so perhaps they know about these noise-makers (and they embrace them). The constant cock-a-doodle-doo-ing from all the fowl that happen to be around the area is the only legitimate downside to Cabana Inn. When they're not busy roosting, you can easily get lost in the Key West breeze and palm trees while hanging by that pool lagoon. Enough of the pool as this review wouldn't be complete without mentioning the actual rooms. They vary by size, space, and shape, but they're relatively comfortable regardless. Our room (shared between three of our party of six) was up a spiral staircase which gave us a nice balcony to take in the morning when we woke up. The interior had a pull-out couch, small kitchenette, and a table sizable enough for six fellas to play cards at. We rotated sleeping spots so when I had my turn in the full bed I found it pleasant enough. I mean it wasn't like we spent that much time in the room anyway, but for sleeping (plus cards and pregaming), it definitely did the trick. Overall, The Cabana Inn is one of the chillest spots you can find in Key West that keeps you right near the main drag without losing the laid back and relaxing feels of the area. Yeah, the roosters are definitely going to put a damper on some of those relaxing vibes (and maybe even a little sleep), but it's not a game changer. That pool, that's a game changer (a good one!). Chose to stay here after our other vacation plans were canceled. Last minute reservation for 5 nights and we couldn't have chosen a better place to stay. Very quaint Inn with the best location in KW! Room is perfect size, very clean. Staff is very attentive to cleanliness all around the property. Pool area very nice and clean. Small continental breakfast but really don't need much more than what was offered. Located about 100 yards from Duval St, it's a perfect location but yet very quite. Inn is also located right in the middle of Duval St so we go either right or left and we're right in the action! Room prices right on par with other places to stay in the area. This is a beautiful little gem of a hotel in a great locals-type neighborhood right behind the action of downtown Key West. They have a beautiful pool and gathering area with a very open and welcoming feel. Our last-minute, 1 night reservation was received as if we'd booked this room months ago and were staying longer-which we wish we could've stayed longer. Our room was on the smaller side, but very clean and comfortable. It had all the usual amenities, and the staff couldn't be any nicer or more helpful with dinner tips and info on things to do and see around town. The breakfast offered is a nice touch as well. An insider note: As a native Floridian, I must say there are a lot of chickens in Key West, especially in the downtown area. If you don't like to hear a rooster crow or see chickens walk through the lobby-forget about it! In fact, forget about Key West altogether. I love this place! It is so cute and peaceful. The complimentary 5-7pm wine and snacks is a nice touch as well as a nice, simple continental breakfast. The staff is all very nice and friendly. I loved our room it was so cute and nice, but only complaint is the floors were pretty sandy. We had a 2 bedroom suite, which was perfect for 2 couples. It's a little on the "rustic" side. However, it's the cutest place in that it has everything! Fridge, microwave, and it came with shampoo, body lotion, shower jell. The shower had hot water! Everything was clean! The location cannot be any better. No need to drive around town. There is parking 25.00 a night. I noticed cameras in all directions in the lot. The pool Is clean and not cold. Always pool towels placed on the lounge chairs. The pool Is always open. It was quiet, and the king size bed was comfortable and high quality. I do not recommend this hotel at all! At $550 per night, you are better off staying at the Waldorf in New Key West or Eden House in Old Key West. We arrived at 4:20 pm and our room was not ready because they only had one housekeeper working (check in is at 4 pm). The hotel attendant issued us a refund for the resort fee which was a nice gesture for the inconvenience. Afterwards, we had to wait for an additional 30 minutes for the housekeeper to finish cleaning our room. Once our room was ready, we were escorted to our room by the hotel attendant. We were at the room door ready to relax and unwind once we entered our room. However, when we opened the room door we were shocked at what we saw. The room had cheap laminate flooring that looks like gray wood. The laminate was dirty, cracked, peeling, and missing sections with random pieces of duck tape on the floor covering cracks / holes. The furniture in the room is dated and not well maintained. The room contained dirty wood furniture - two nightstands, a side table, a chest, and a dresser all of which were delaminating. Two Ikea table lamps with rusted metal bases and discolored white lamp shades sat on the two wooden nightstands that framed the king bed. The bed had no blanket and a dirty red throw pillow on it. The orange accent chair that sat next to the delaminated side table near the room door had white stains on it and was accompanied with a blue and white throw pillow which had a brown tinge (from being dirty and not being washed regularly). Once we finally got over the shock of the bedroom area, we decided to check out the bathroom. The bathroom was a nice size and very basic. We pulled back the shower curtain and observed two massive rust stains on the shower tile and multiple holes that were just filled with caulk. The free wine and cheese happy hour that we had been looking forward was a joke - I personally was expecting a simple charcuterie board and an assortment of wine, not string cheese and lays chips and wine in buckets with no ice. After coming back to our hotel room after a night out on Duvall Street, we showered, and crawled into bed, and we were surprised to find sand / dirt in the bed sheets. We want a refund for our stay, we are still in disbelief that we paid $550 per night to stay in this hotel. read more

Do not book! If you're hoping for customer service, care and hospitality - go somewhere else. We understand that it was a non-refundable stay. But when the governor departed a state of emergency and we realized that our anniversary trip was turned into boarding our own home in central Florida, we hoped that the inn would show some understanding and compassion to help us rebook for another time. While disheartened that they wouldn't reconsider, it was the staffs tone, lack of empathy and outright rudeness... even shouting policy at us while we're literally at home searching for water and toilet paper with the storm looming. Mike customer services skills severely lacked almost to the point of indifference and almost contempt. It was surprisingly. At the very least, He needs customer service training and potentially another role within the company. Or somewhere else entirely. We frequent the keys biyearly. We booked and paid when we arrived at the hotel. We had previously viewed photos on the hotels website and thought it looked nice. As soon as we finished paying we went to check out the room. Absolutely did NOT look like the photos. It was extremely dated and dirty. The bed was extremely uncomfortable and the shower was gross. We went to the desk and immediately asked for a refund. We were trying to be very nice and just say it's not our vibe (we did not want to embarrass them in front of other customers) The manager was extremely rude. This is such a beautiful place, it is adults only so no kids yelling and running around. The whole place is just so beautiful the pool and hot tub were amazing. When you stay here you are smack dab in the middle of Duval st. There's a nice continental breakfast every morning and happy hour from 5-7 pm with wines and good snacks. The place was just ok and it would have been great except my wife and I were eaten alive all over our legs and feet. We weren't at the beach and the only time we got bitten was in the bed. When we said something the very nice lady at the deck filled out an incident report and said we should hear from the manager. That took forever and he said they investigated and found nothing. My travel home got moved up a full 24 hours due to a severe weather warning. I called to speak with the front desk to explain the situation to see if I could get a credit to come back and stay another time. The representative told me I had to call Expedia since I had booked with them, but Expedia was telling me I had to contact the hotel. The short of this story was that I received a voicemail back from the front desk rep that I could not hear, but the translation was " did reach out to my manager and explain this is elation and unfortunately _⁠_⁠_⁠_⁠_⁠_ that you're gonna work it... Him and Shirley have for each told." I called the hotel back for clarity and asked to speak with the manager because the desk rep explained that she would not be able to help me. I was told that she would have to check if that would be ok because her managers are VERY busy. After coming back she sent me to a voicemail of a manager at a sister hotel... supposedly. She told me if he didn't answer he would call back, of course. The voicemail at the number I called had no name or signal as to where I had been transferred. It's been two days and I still haven't received a call back. This is hands down the worst service and experience I've ever had with a hotel, particularly one in Key West that is built on tourism. These managers should be ashamed. One $400 night is down the drain for me while a voucher could have yielded a 3-4 night stay in the future. Don't stay here, there are hundreds of better locations... We stayed at the Cabana Inn for the first time in October, 2017. It's an amazing property and the location cannot be beat. It's right off of Duval, a half-block from Mile Marker 0, and a block the other way to the Green Parrot. We walked everywhere. We had a junior suite which was very large. It had windows out to the street, but the shutters allowed us to have light in the room without being exposed to the street. The courtyards were lovely, the pool was spotless, and the turtles and birds were adorable. There was a nice wine and cheese reception each evening, and a very nice breakfast every morning. There was limited parking in the Cabana Inn's lot, but the lot next door was only a few safe steps away. Next time we visit Key West, we won't even look for anywhere else. read more

We booked this the day before and got it for s very reasonable rate $109 & $20 resort fee and $25 for parking. Located right in the middle of all the fun but just enough off the Main Street to be quiet. The place was clean and well kept. All the loungers around the pool had towels on them inviting you to use them. The water in the main pool looked a little cloudy but we still swam. Our room was clean if a bit basic and needs a bit of tlc in a few places. The floor had a big bow in it from being wet and the bathroom floor which was once white marble had been cleaned with chemicals which has left it looking black. The staff was friendly and helpful and happy to accommodate requests. ( I needed bandaids) The room has a chocolate and a bottle of water on each side of the bed. There were little complimentary soaps and shampoo and even a face cleanser. There was a fridge and coffee maker in the room and they had a generous supply of Starbucks coffees and teas. In the evening they had a complimentary wine a d cheese laid out for the guests and in the morning they provided us with breakfast. Toast, pastries, waffles you make yourself, boiled eggs, yogurt, cereals, orange juice, tea, coffee and fresh fruit. In this area they also have chilled water and a coffee machine for the use of the guests if you are around the pool. The inn itself is an old house built in the 1800's with newer cabanas built on the property around it. Some were 3 stories high. I don't think I'd be pleased to drag a suitcase up those stairs. We stayed on the ground floor and were very comfortable with our amenities. They have some turtles in a pond and an Avery in the front with a cockatoo and a pair of lovebirds. There are bicycles to rent and a computer and printer for patron use. read more

This is a charming old place, probably a house converted to small hotel and it lacks the amenities expected from newer purpose-built hotels. For example, no central air conditioning, and poor sound insulation. I do not consider those to be defects, but they should be taken into account for those accustomed to staying in hotels with 3 or more stars. Our party occupied two rooms one was comfortable, but the other (on the west-facing side of the building) never cooled adequately. Staff were hospitable and helpful but not effusive (again, I am absolutely ok without gushy greetings). Breakfast (included) was the usual -- waffles, yogurt, fruit, various breads, hard-boiled eggs, fruit juice and Starbucks coffee. A lovely swimming pool is complimented by fountain and stream amid tropically-lush landscaping. Parking is expensive at $25 per night at the hotel, or $30 per night at the public lot next door. Adults only, so not kid-friendly. Walking distance to the abundant night life along Duval Street and also to the "zero" mile marker for U.S. Highway 1. Very important -- old town is populated by probably hundreds of free-range chickens (I believe the breed is jungle fowl -- the ancestral line of all common breeds). They wander at will, and the colorful roosters crow almost continuously -- not only at dawn. The hotel kindly supplies earplugs if a guest requests. Having raised chickens (and other fowl) the cacophony was welcome and soothing to me. Your results will vary. read more

We absolutely loved this typical Key West architectural hotel/BnB. Very helpful staff, a clean and (finally a) refreshing pool after a hot day in KW. A hot jacuzzi is available as well. Beautiful garden with exotic trees and plants. Room (number 4) was above average with a big bathroom (shower only). Unfortunately we didn't have hot water, but the romantic balcony made it all good. Location is right next to duval street with all the action. Breakfast was a little bit disappointing with lots of sweets and sugar things, not for people on a diet... Internet is working very well, free Starbucks coffee, fresh lemonade and 2 hours of free happy hour with good wine and cheese... I really felt being a welcome guest and you feel the passion that the staff puts into this place. You cannot go wrong with this one... read more

We love this place! As islanders with a home in the lower keys, Cabana is now our go to when staying over in Key West. The rooms each have their own quirks and design. Some are near the street, where you'll definitely be awakened by roosters, so choose carefully. The top rooms are tiny but cute and comfy. Courtyard is really beautiful with iguanas, turtles, and a cockatoo. Nice, small pool and hot tub. They are generous with late check out and kindly lent us umbrellas on a rainy day. Location is stellar. Note that if you're using the pay park meter out front, those spots are not regulated from midnight to 8am, so don't overload the meter like we did! :) read more

First the pros - The location of the cabanas is perfect. The courtyard is gorgeous, receives afternoon to evening sun. The hot tub was always clean. Maintenance skimmed the pool everyday. Coffee machine was convenient and available 24/7. Free wine from 5-7p. My room was spacious. Turtle pond is cute. Food stand across the street has fantastic food! The cons - office staff are cold. You have track someone down for - new room towels, blankets, toilet paper, pool towel, etc. You have to take out your own room trash. Beds did not have blankets, sheets only. After I asked for a blanket I realized it was a twin size for my queen bed, wool, worn out and thin. Pool is always in the shade, very little filtered sun cascades the pool throughout the day. You have to ask for a pool towel. Walls and ceiling are thin. Sounded like a herd of elephants above us every single night. The cheese and crackers with wine is mini bags of Cheese It's and package string cheese. Wine is crammed behind the desk in the tiny office - why isn't it out in the spacious common area, it is an adult only Inn. Roosters crowing everyday at the crack of dawn. During breakfast hour, maintenance is cleaning and blowing leaves around you (isn't there a better time to clean?). In a three person room there was 1 luggage rack and 1 clothes hanging space tucked behind the very small bathroom door. Very small pedestal sink with no place to put toiletries/hygiene bags. If you are looking for comfort this isn't the place, at best it is in a convenient location right off Duval. read more

Good but not great. Nice rooms are not in the main building, insist on an outside building. The third floor is really tiny and it's 3 flights up. The hotel has massive issues with locks. We were given a unit that the key did not function. Later we were give a "special" Key from the manager. The key worked great for my room, and every room at the inn. I had came with 4 other couples and it worked every room. Later on the manager admitted it was a master key. Billing was also a mess. There systems are not up to date. To many issues to even write. During our stay the manager was fired, presumably for giving me a master key. Who knows. Great location, expensive and really not a great room. We had reservations at the Cabana Inn during this Coronavirus time. We had to cancel due to the Keys and all hotels closed. The hotel refuses to give our money back since we had a non refundable reservation, they did give us a gift certificate good for a year but we have no idea if we can make it back there, since this was a stay we had tacked on the end of our vacation this year. It seems when the business is closed they should return peoples money. Doesn't appear to be a reputable business, we would have been there if we had been able to get there. I think this is their ploy to get your money knowing most people won't be able to get back and if I do it will be interesting to see if they even will say they have vacancy. My husband and I only have a week for vacation. And he has been talking about Key West for the longest time. So he did most of the arrangements. But I pleaded with him not to book here. But he didn't listen. We had the most horrible experience. When we finally got settled in our room. There was no help to move luggage from 3rd floor to 2nd. As a result my husband twisted his ankle and was in pain for the rest of the week. I've a bit of a handicap and I wear a brace. I was willing to walk the steps but didn't know there was so many steps. We went down to 2nd floor which was no better. The floors and walls are so thin that when the people upstairs walked I thought the building was shaking. I cried most of the time we were there. I wanted to leave but we paid for the week. The room was small. After we got our luggage in the room there was very little room to move. Our toilet cases had to sit on the floor there was no room to put them. The outlet in the bathroom didn't work so my electric tooth brush had to go on top of microwave.I don't think the floors ever seen a mop. Floors were sticky. There were spider webs inside/outside the doors. It just wasn't clean. There was a stain on the sheets. The thing that made me cry the most was when KW had a cold snap there was no warmth in our room. No heat. I had to go to bed with a sweatshirt,socks 2 shirts. I found relieve in a hot shower. That I give them. I would say to people if you want to stay here. Only stay a day or so. They are not equipped for longer stays. They spent so much money on secure doors with key cards etc.. but nothing on the rooms or house itself. People come down all months and now with climate change. There will be cold snaps. By far the worst customer service!! Upon checkin for our honeymoon we paid an additional $118 after we already paid for the hotel stay only to wake up to our car being towed. No sign or discussion just parked in their parking lot and they have it towed. The manager literally took more than 20 minutes to tell us every detail about this property and what to do in the area as well as gave us a tour of the hotel but never said anything about an additional parking fee outside the $118. When we explained this to the day time manager he was completely nasty. Never offering to bring our vehicle back or even apologizing. I will never stay here again and I urge anyone who is traveling to Key West to stay anywhere but here. read more

We stayed here for a week at the tail end of Fantasy Fest. This is a very nice place! So glad we chose it! The fellow guests were fun. It's adults only. We stayed in a cabana king cottage. The beds were comfortable. The rooms & property were clean. The pool & spa were very nice. They have a nice free breakfast in the morning and a free happy hour with wine & cheese. The location can't be beat! It's very close to Mallory square & one block off the action of Duval street. The only cons I could say is that our cabana was directly on Whitehead street. The traffic, people, & wild roosters are very loud. The hotel can provide you with ear plugs if you need them. Also, they should serve fruit with breakfast. I would have liked some bananas. I would definitely recommend this place and we will absolutely be back! read more
