They are good sized cupcakes and so we cut them all into quarter pieces to make them finger sized. Everyone who tasted the chocolate chocolate cupcakes agreed something was off. Susan was awesome and made my whole first time experience at The Cake Cottage exceptional. Store was neat, clean, organized and all cupcakes are beautifully displayed. She gave me her pricing list and didn't rush me into buying a cake right away as I had told her I'm new to the area and was out exploring different bakeries. Well...I made a mistake leaving there because I purchased a cupcake (btw her cupcakes are jumbo sized) and didn't try it until I was on the road. I purchased other cupcakes from nearby bakeries and the texture wasn't even comparable to my cupcake from The Cake Cottage. So I returned to place an order for a cake and a dozen cupcakes. Bought a few Chocolate on chocolate cup cakes very nice presentation for sure. Carrot cake cup cake, white cake to get an idea. I will recommend putting them for 10 seconds or as needed to just bring them back to right out of the oven taste. But if a party that will be more difficult. Maybe on a warming tray. The white cake I-liked the best, chocolate icing is good, carrot cake was tasty not like mine (needs a touch more oil). They didn't have gluten free so tried a bite of each. The décor of Cottage was very cute and the gentleman that waited on me nice. I worked for Ramona's Bakery in San Pedro for years so I'm very picky. It wasn't good old Ramon's but close enough. Wanted to be nice and send the girls at the OB/GYN next door some cupcakes for referring our medical clinic to patients, so I dropped by here to get them some. I was thrilled to see how big the cupcakes are, they run from $3-$4.50 a cupcake, which is worth it considering the taste and size. I got a few for myself and I have to say, for someone who doesn't really like cakes or cupcakes, they were delicious! I love this little shop, it's not far from my work and they have tons of baking supplies for all you baking needs. I grabbed a few cookie cutters, because you can never have enough and got some more cake pans. Cute place but attitude and service were off putting. I walked in, was greeted and I asked the guy if he was the baker, out of curiosity and to tell him what I think of his bakery. But instead he just plain out said no and didn't even bother to say who was the baker. I thought small Businesses loved compliments, guess not this place. I got 2 cupcakes, and sadly not even the cupcakes could have saved them my review. One cupcake was a day old. And that was really sad. It was dry and almost hard. While the other was fresh; bouncy texture and moist. For $11 cupcakes you'd think you'd get better quality cupcakes. I am over the moon about the cake and service I received! I got exactly what I asked for, and I even had an incident with the cake that they did not hesitate to fix. Only minutes after my brother-in-law brought the cake, something fell on it and ruined the front! I called them and asked if they could fix it, and they did!
