Kingston has quite a few Cambodian restaurants and I decided to have this relatively uncommon cuisine. The lady at the counter sound Thai and was confused when I asked if they had fish amok and the food here is spicy for Cambodian food. I'm not sure how Cambodian the food is but it's pretty tasty. I was told 1, 5 & 6 were the more Cambodian dishes. Spicy sour chicken (Cambodian style) had a sweet, spicy & rich peanut sauce. Cambodian Village soup was a big portion and was a spicy, rich, thin soup with some coconut milk. Cambodian spring rolls were good: quite peppery, with quite a bit of meat and served with a dipping sauce made from fish sauce, peanuts and carrot. TL: DR exceptional service, and good food, a great place for a quick bite to eat when you're near the Kingston waterfront, but as always good location comes with a higher price. I walked around Kingston on a Friday afternoon with some friends looking to get some Asian Food, we walked down until we hit Cambodian Village. When we walked in and the aroma of chilies, lemongrass and garlic immediately hit me. There were so many tasty sounding items on the menu, and the waitress was kind enough to offer me some suggestions. She was extremely helpful and nice, and the service was definitely a highpoint. I ended up ordering the Cambodian spring rolls as an appetizer ($6.95) and the country special ($13.95). The spring rolls came (3) first (pictured below) with a peanut, fish sauce, and carrot dipping sauce. The spring rolls were crispy and delicious, and it was nice that they were cut in half. The issue was that they were a little over priced for what I was getting and wish I got a little bit more. Next came the country special, pictured below that came with rice. The country special was like a traditional Indian curry but with a Cambodian twist, it included chicken and tomatoes. This dish was delicious, and I enjoyed it a lot. I just wish that there was a little bit more curry to come with the sauce as well as other competitors serve their dishes with more food. In conclusion the service was a high point the food was good, and the atmosphere was cookie cutter Cambodian/Thai restaurant. I'm so worried about small family restaurants like Cambodian Village during COVID. This restaurant's food is simply incredible, it's that good. Unfortunately right now we can't dine in, but takeout is available, therefore each weekend our family drive to Kingston for Brockville for our Favouite Numbers, 21, 39, 15, and 22 with shrimp. Great place for Cambodian food. The portions are incredibly filling. The best bang per value. I ordered a fish curry (I can't remember what type of curry I ordered) and would definitely recommend it. They took the effort to take a photo of everything on the menu and posted it on their menu, so it's easy to glance and see what you're looking for. read more

What a surprise to find such great authentic Asian cuisine in little ol Kingston! I have eaten Asian all around the world and I have to say that this place does great flavours. They do their own spice mixes and are pretty good at it. I ate here twice during my 4 day stay downtown and would be a regular haunt if I lived here. A small dining area but the family run kitchen churns out dishes very quickly and are very accomodating and are happy to cater to menu changes to suit individual tastes. read more

I was totally blown away from Cambodian village. It's a one man shop- there is one guy working the restaurant. About five tables in the front, a kitchen with giant woks, and a genius chef in the back. The place smells of authentic Thai flavors- lemongrass, lime, curry. We ordered the red curry special and the Cambodian meal #9. Both came out quickly and were piping hot. This was the closest in authentic thai flavor that I've eaten outside of Thailand. The spice is out of this world and served against white rice to balance it out, just like in Thailand. It's simple food but complex in taste, and will leave you totally satisfied and amazed. No place in the states can touch his flavor. Highly recommended. Great price, absolutely authentic, go here if you want to taste thailand. I'd give it 6 stars if I could. read more

Even if you don't think you like tofu, try their red curry tofu. It is absolute perfection. Every dish I've had from them has been brilliantly balanced, with small touches (like toasting the chopped peanuts that are used as a garnish) that show off the expertise of the cooks and their understanding of the flavours and textures of the food they work with. But that red-curry tofu in particular is just sheer brilliance. Sure, it's a tiny hole-in-the-wall location, and their focus is clearly not on decor... but never mind that - get it for takeout and walk the 45 seconds to have a perfect Cambodian picnic at the waterfront! read more

Overall Cambodian Village is not a bad place to get some asian take out in Kingston. I ordered the shrimp and pineapple with rice - I found it was a bit odd tasting on the pineapple but overall the flavour was strong and the portion was reasonable. My friend had the chicken curry which was much better with creamy curry sauce and was not too spicy. I would stick to the top choices on the menu like the curries and ask for recommendations from the staff. I just think for $15-$20 takeout, I expect a bit more in terms of freshness and flavour. This place is amazing and has the best Spicy Chicken dish out of all of the Thai and Cambodian restaurants in Kingston. Our bill for the Spicy Chicken #6, Vegetarian Pad Thai #19 and a pot of green tea was $21. My girlfriend took half of her meal home for dinner. We picked Cambodian Village out at random whilst walking in downtown Kingston; we could not have made a better choice. Pros: - Friendly staff. - Nice and quiet around 4:30 in the afternoon - we had the place to ourselves. - Tons of items to choose from. - We started things off with the Cambodian Spring Rolls, which were served with a terrific peanut sauce. I tried the Devil Red Curry and was most pleased with its richness and utter deliciousness. Don enjoyed his order of Prik Khing, which I sampled and found to be quite good. - Generous portions. - Extremely fast service. - Broad delivery area, which I'm sure Don will be utilizing in the future. This is a awesome Cambodian Restaurant in Kingston!! The food is hot and spicy!! My favorite dish is #10 Golden Spicy Shrimp-Hot and sour Shrimp with Basil, green chili and rice. I've been to a couple of other Cambodian restaurants in Kingston (Phnom Penh and Royal Angkor) and I would conclude that Cambodian Village is probably the best one out of the three because I find it the most authentic, delicious, and cheap. I've ordered the Pad Thai here and I've never had pad thai like it before - the sauce is really different (lots of peanuts) and really good. Cambodian Village is also more like a canteen/fast food place compared to Royal Angkor and Phnom Penh so you get a lot of delicious food for your buck! read more

Been coming here since I was a student in Kingston. Now that I live in Toronto, I still make the drive out there for the heck of it just so I can have a taste. Yes, it's that good. I think the prices have gone up since I last went in, but the portions grew as well, at least the beef noodle soup did anyway! Speaking of which, the beef noodle soup is HIGHLY recommended.
