I am a new resident of the beautiful Carlisle Palm Beach. I love it. the service has been outstanding and the activities are numerous. already I have watched a first class movie in their fabulous movie facility with reclining chairs and popcorn. as an extra incentive they have happy hour 7 days a week...including wine, beer and wonderful food to nibble on. Assisted Living has been going downhill for four years. The Bridge Group are the owners who recently formed their own management company to make improvements. Things have gotten worse. The new General Manager blames "corporate" for lousy food & servers, lack of entertainment & activities, interior decor being old & ugly & overall depressing, unhappy residents. You must hire your own private aid because the Carlisle aids are few & not good. And the prices keep going up. The value keeps going down. I'd recommend finding a better, happier place for your loved ones. read more

This place has gone to hell in a hand basket. After new management took over 6 months ago, it became a living nightmare. Occupants are leaving in droves. All sorts of shady practices are perpetuated everyday. The food is inedible. Most of the staff has left or been fired. The ones that remain are mean and incompetent. The managing director is a naive crook way over his head in his handling of this property. There treatment of Seniors is appalling. I would not subject a house pet to the treatment they bestowed upon my parents. We have evacuated the Carlisle after 100ks of dollars. BIGGEST MISTAKE WE EVER MADE. Whatever you do avoid this place. This review is solely regarding the Salon at the Carlisle in Lantana. They are absolutely horrible and careless with the memory care residents. I tried to give them chances to correct the mess they have continuously done to my aunt's hair. I heard from many of the staff that this is the same for other residents using their services. Staff have to continuously return residents to the Salon to correct the horrible job done to their hair. They think that because many of the family members live out of town they can take advantage of the memory care residents and provide horrible service. SHAME ON THEM!!! In the 8 months my aunt has been there they've had at least 4 hairstylists either quit or get fired (not sure which but I know there's a big turnover). The last straw was the last haircut looked like they used a saw, that's how jagged it is. The "correction" was even worse than the original style and they refuse to refund her money! They charge a fee for noncash, which is typical these days, but given that memory care patients do not have cash on hand and therefore must use debit/credit cards, I don't find this fair. SHAME ON THE SALON @ THE CARLISLE IN LANTANA. I have hired an outside hairstylist who comes in to do my aunt's hair in her apt - she's great, patient and gentle. The Carlisle of Palm Beach Memory Care itself is amazing with wonderful caring staff and loads of activities to keep the memory care patients engaged and busy throughout the day! They are constantly looking for new ways to improve the quality of life for Memory Care residents. My aunt is a picky eater so the fact that she's put on a couple of pounds, even though they provide exercise (and she participates) 2x per day, is a testament to the quality of their meals. The Carlisle of Palm Beach is amazing! Covid 19 left my elderly father, living in South Florida very alone and isolated. As a result, his health began to deteriorate. The Carlisle was recommended by two residents who started in independent living and have since moved to assisted living. At first my father was reluctant. After seeing the beautifully kept property, the breakfast and dinner menu, the activity rosters posted and the many ammenities, he agreed to move. Two weeks later, thanks to Robin and the superb management team and staff, my father made the transition with ease. My Dad is so well cared for and his health is improving day by day. My father was in memory care at The Carlisle and I would strongly discourage those considering to look elsewhere. The management is essentially incompetent and unresponsive. They don't show concern for their patients. And showed no interest in improving current conditions. There are virtually no activities for memory care residents, so they sit there staring at the walls 24/7. Until the Director of Memory Care is changed, I am highly skeptical that there will be any improvement. Sadly, my Dad's condition worsened quickly after he moved into the Carlisle, which is likely a direct result of the facilities carelessness and neglect. read more

South Florida is Ground Zero for healthcare fraud, especially where the elderly are concerned. I feel strongly that it's my moral obligation to warn families about a facility so egregious in its dereliction of duty that my 95-year-old father and 92-year-old mother actually moved out of there after just over four months. The Carlisle in Lantana, Fla., overpromised and under-delivered on a number of issues. The sales staffer assigned to our family was impressive at first, but it didn't take long for us to realize she sold us a false bill of goods, leaving the impression that my parents would be living in a luxurious setting featuring three tasty square meals a day and receiving top-notch care in their assisted-living wing. She also assured my two sisters and I that various tweaks to the two-bedroom apartment they were about to rent, including raised toilet seats in both bathrooms and lowered kitchen cabinets for our 4'10" mother would be done by the time they moved in. Not so. And that's where the trouble began. Soon after, it became apparent to us that a growing list of gripes from our family, including paperwork being filed for a long-term care insurance claim and assistance with several daily living activities for our father, were falling through the cracks. We had to constantly chase the aforementioned sales person, business office staffers and the executive director. There also was a lot of fine print to deal with - details that were never revealed until after they signed on the dotted line. It felt as though they were baited and switched and that the strategy is to convince affluent senior citizens to hand over their nest eggs at all cost, then answer questions later, if at all. My sisters and I were horrified by how our father began negotiating his level of care with the executive director in order to save on costs he didn't anticipate going in. It struck us as highly unethical behavior. Also, our poor father, who is in constant pain from various physical ailments and in need of a walker, had fallen multiple times while living in the facility, including once after getting out of the van from a doctor's appointment. In addition, it was nearly impossible for our parents to make any friends at the facility, and it seemed like daily activities were anything but proactive arrangements. They were terribly lonely and after interacting the first few days with a so-called ambassador who was also a fairly new resident there, our parents were quickly forgotten. Worst of all, one of the staffers apparently jotted down financial information from a checkbook our mother left out on a desk and tried to withdraw up to $50,000 over three attempts. Because our parents were in assisted living, they had to endure a seemingly endless stream of staffers who would come and go into their apartment while they were present or not there. The attempted crime, which thankfully was caught in time by their financial advisor's assistant, is still under police investigation. From that point on, our parents lost complete confidence in the facility. This violation of their privacy and dignity proved to be a bridge too far to continue living there. To make matters worse, we were horrified to learn that James Solages, the facility's former plant operations director, was arrested in connection to the assassination of Haiti's president. This made us further question the Carlisle's hiring practices. Please heed my warning and do not even consider this facility for you or any loved ones. read more

I have been to many assisted living facilities as well as independent living facilities for both my mother and mother-in-law... The food at the Carlisles restaurant is delicious! They have a great "always" menu and their daily "specials" have been really great! If you are looking into the Carlyle for a loved one... Ask for LYDIA in the sales department! She is so kind, friendly and knowledgeable. She goes above and beyond constantly and is always available 24 seven with any questions or concerns. She replies immediately and does everything possible to please the residents and their family members. Many communities are further west and while you may get a slightly bigger apartment... You're in the middle of nowhere and the residents have to solely rely on transportation. Whereas The Carlisle, is in a fantastic location that provides residents the opportunity to walk to the Beach, luxury boutiques and delicious restaurants... all directly across the street! It really gives residence the opportunity to live a fulfilled independent lifestyle with so much right outside the door to the Carlisle. just over the bridge is an awesome park for visiting grandchildren to exert their energy!! The bonus?! After all that running around at the park... the grandchildren are welcome to swim at the beautiful and huge pool at the Carlisle!! can't say enough, I feel truly blessed I found an incredible place like the Carlisle for my mom and it is a pleasure visiting her!! thank you Lydia for all of your time and your efforts! Lack of management expertise and the corporate mentality of profits over service has driven this once elegant and comfortable facility to the brink of systemic breakdown. The general upkeep, repairs, and cleanliness are seriously impaired by staff left to their own devices much of their work-week and lack of any sense of pride or satisfaction with their jobs. The common areas are filthy, carpets stained and litter left untended; exterior doors, balconies, and landscaping desperately need repair, replacement, and general attention. Given the high cost of living in this facility, it lacks any resemblance to its former self. By the way, their display of "upcoming" renovations have been on display for the sales staff use for almost a year - don't hold your breath! read more

Door has been broken to assisted living wing for over a week- it's a fire hazard and it's unsafe. They took auto off of it and now it's unlocked at night. My dad pays a lot of money to stay there and the upkeep to the buildings and parking lot is subpar. 7 enormous potholes in parking lot. This place was nice when my mother moved in 3 years ago but has its issues now. Prices keep going up, by almost 10% this year. They talk about things being redone, which is definitely needed, but the only thing that has been was the hair salon & that took over a year. Many things look worn such as elevators & entry doors. If you have an issue, good luck getting it addressed as it's difficult to get ahold of anyone and responses are not timely. You can tell they mostly care about their bottom line & don't want to put money into the place. read more

I "kissed a lot of frogs" before I stumbled in here! It was bright, beautiful, clean and very welcoming! It had a "buzz" about it - people were happy, full of energy and fun. Much more a resort or nice hotel than a institution. Dad's thrilled. I hardly see the man. He's booked. I went from worrying about him to all but having to make an appointment. I actually look forward to my visits. Rather than being a burdened care giver or support system, l'm a guest and he's hosting! On my recent visit, there were design boards all over the place. What I thought was very nice, is being upgraded and re-styled. Value for money has caused me to do the math for myself and wife. Although "not old enough yet" (never thought I'd be using that phrase again!) we would be enhancing our lifestyle, decreasing our concerns and breaking even to possibly saving money. And with my experience with Dad (pre-existing conditions) it something my friends and I actively talk about. I did a lot of leg work. Save yourself the time and do it online. Most places have a "front office" and a back, so beware. But do plan to visit this place. It's got substance! read more

Mom lived here for 3.5 years. The facility is quite lovely and the staff are very friendly. Parking has been an issue, but they recently introduced (free) valet service during the busiest hours. When Mom passed away, the staff were quite helpful in dealing with the inevitable challenges of moving out, and were supportive for family who live in other states. Once you choose an independent living facility, it's very difficult to make a change, so take the time to be sure its the right one for you. read more

Initially we were delighted when my aunt was accepted into the Carlisle. On the surface it appeared to be a wonderful place. However, soon we discovered that the memory care was not as it was on paper and in the introduction/tour we had. 1. we were told that there were monitors in place in case a patient fell out of bed. However, after falling and not being discovered until much later 5 different times, this was obviously not true. The last time she had a bloody nose and was sent to the hospital but NOT the hospital we had listed on her papers. The care at Bethesda was terrible. This experience caused my aunt to deteriorate rapidly. From there she was sent to Heartland, which was an even worse situation. 2. The monitoring was so bad at the Carlisle that one day when my mother and I went to visit we found her alone upstairs dusting furniture in the lobby/living room with absolutely nobody else there! Later on we were told that she didn't want to participate with the groups. So this was an excuse to leave her there alone and totally unattended? They claim they have all types of programs that, we discovered, are only on paper. The music program was the worst. Most of the time, nobody showed up and there was no substitute, not even the radio. When the person was there,, he was horrible...worst than 3rd class. 3. My aunt never returned after her fall and we never received a refund on the $2500 deposit we were required to pay. She wasn't even there for a month. 4. The memory care is on different floors so the patients have to go up and down the elevator. Do NOT trust the Memory Care in this place.. I would have given this facility a negative 100 rating if I could. My wife and I have lived in the Carlisle's Assisted Living Facility ("ALF") since March 2016. I am disabled by a progressive auto-immune condition diagnosed in 2013. I now have very limited function in my appendages and am power-chair bound. Doctors try to slow the progression of my condition by suppressing my immune system. Before we moved into the Carlisle ALF, we informed management and the medical staff of my condition and the suppression of my immune system. With that knowledge, the Carlisle accepted us as residents. For the first 27 months at the Carlisle, our experience was superb. Then, on June 30, 2018, there was a flood three floors above our apartment--estimated at 10,000 to 12,000 gallons. Our apartment was flooded. On July 2, I reminded management that my immune system was being suppressed and that mold is very dangerous to my health. The Carlisle assured me they would take care of me, as required by law. For the next two months, the Carlisle failed to remediate our apartment and during that time, I repeatedly asked for the results of their mold tests. No such tests were produced, and our concern and suspicions were growing. By the end of August, we had become alarmed and I demanded the mold test results from a regional manager for the Carlisle's ownership company. She told me that the test results would "not be made accessible to us." That same day, we ordered independent testing by a highly regarded mold-testing company. Their testing revealed high levels of toxic mold in the apartment. Yes, we were unknowingly living in a mold-infested apartment for two months, believing that the Carlisle was taking care of me and my suppressed immune system. We have now been moved to temporary units at the Carlisle and exiled from our home for another four months since we discovered the mold--six months since the June flood. Instead of doing the right thing and promptly remediating our apartment, which should have taken less than 30 days, the Carlisle has lied and deceived us for six months now. This past week, the Carlisle's lawyer tried to coerce us into a "voluntary termination" of our ALF tenancy. Merry Christmas Senior Lifestyle and the Carlisle Palm Beach. read more
