I had a few stains on my carpet and they just needed a cleaning. Searched on Yelp, The Carpet Doctor had good reviews, called, left a message. Mark called back a day later, scheduled a $139 cleaning for the following week to clean the stairs and upstairs hallway and address a few small stains in the hallway. My significant other and I were busy when Mark arrived. I paid him and we both went to work (at home). When I came out of my home office, Mark had left. Once dried (in a few hours), the carpets looked great, stains nearly all gone. I was pleased, the carpeting looked brand new and revived. We had our 12 year old couch and love seat cleaned for the very first time by the The Carpet Doctor. They both came out absolutely beautiful! Mark, the owner & Hector, his assistant, worked hand-in-hand. They were both courteous and professional. We have a dog cover for the love seat, but there were still stains on it from wet dog paws, etc. All the stains were removed. Both couches look brand new and they smell so, so clean! We are going to be having Mark come back to do our basement carpet and cant wait to see how that comes out! My husband and I are thoroughly impressed with The Carpet Doctor and highly recommend them. Several weeks ago, I called a local carpet store to ask for a recommendation on carpet cleaners. I previously used a carpet cleaner from Middletown, CT because they offered a coupon for cleaning multiple rooms. I was very unhappy with their work. The local carpet store that I called highly recommended, The Carpet Doctor (CD) in New Britain. I immediately called and made an appointment. Today, the CD and his assistant arrived and I am still in awe of the work they did. I happen to be a clean fanatic and they did not disappoint. They cleaned spots that have never come out with the previous carpet cleaner. Keep in mind that I have very expensive oatmeal color wool carpeting throughout my condo. The CD actually brushed and gently tapped out areas to lift out dust and loosen the dirt. First, the CD and his assistant vacuumed the rugs with a commercial vacuum cleaner; then, they pretreated the rugs, they took off the floor vents and cleaned around them (the carpet was discolored around the vent and they got it all off). Next step, the CD and his assistant cleaned with the floor cleaning equipment. I never saw anything like it. The night before, I moved the small items out of the rooms but they actually moved the large furniture to clean underneath. I have a large 60" round pedestal table in my dining room which sits on the wall-to-wall carpet. The pedestal table has never been moved since it was delivered. They moved it and cleaned thoroughly underneath it. It sure was dusty and dirty underneath the pedestal. The carpeted stairway had dark areas on the edges of the stairs from previous cleaning. The former carpet cleaner never seemed to get it out - never even tried to get the dust and dirt out. The CD got it out! This wasn't a fast job either. The CD and his assistant arrived around 9:00 a.m. and left around 12:15 p.m. Most carpet cleaners take about an hour to clean the carpets in my entire condo (1700 sq. ft.). They worked the entire time and focussed on the detail. They went the extra mile to assure me that the job was well-done. The CD is truly a rug doctor! He is extremely knowledgeable about carpets and is a sharp, clean-cut man. Please don't think I'm being judgmental but the way a vendor doing any type of cleaning presents themselves is indicative of the quality of his work. The CD knows what he's doing and I highly recommend his work. It is excellent. Please note, I am not a friend or relative of The Carpet Doctor. I was not asked to write this review. I am writing this review independently because I believe The Carpet Doctor is very deserving of it. read more
