Empire Today Laminate Flooring Review - Proceed with Caution…read more I hired Empire Today to install laminate flooring upstairs a year ago. During the consultation, they assured me that they would use a leveler to ensure even distribution across the subfloor. We noticed after the install a lot of uneven areas. We contacted the sales rep who moved here from California. He told us it was not his problem and to work with the install manager. That person came out and told us this was normal. Unfortunately, after pulling back the flooring due to concerns about creaking and unevenness, I discovered what I believe to be substandard workmanship. The subfloor beneath the laminate is visibly uneven, with patchy leveling and inconsistent surface treatment. This contradicts their claim of using a leveler and raises serious doubts about the integrity of the installation. Laminate flooring requires a smooth, stable base to perform well over time, and what I found does not meet that standard. I'm not writing this to be vindictive--I want other homeowners to be informed. If you're considering Empire Today, I strongly recommend inspecting the subfloor before installation and asking for documentation or photos of the leveling process. Don't rely solely on verbal assurances. This experience has been frustrating, and I hope my review helps others avoid similar issues. Quality flooring starts from the ground up--literally.

I specifically asked for double the carpet padding to maximize the comfort of the carpet even if it raises the floor higher than usual. the sales guys said he would instead "upgrade" me "for free" to the better padding that will accomplish what I want. The padding that arrived looked and FELT exactly like any other padding I've always had from any carpet installation. the people that show up to do the work are underpaid PoC that speak little to no english so if there are any concerns it's incredibly difficult to communicate them to the installers. the installers did a great job, but this company doesn't care about their workers or their customers. not satisfied with the work? they've already got their money so they'll just ghost you like your ex. The lady I've been dealing with sent a final email asking if I was happy with my service and I expressed my concerns about the carpet nails were actually poking my feet and asked where those alleged discounts went and have not heard back.
