With flashing lights to entice passers by, Fone Zone rather reminded me of what the Gadget Shop used to do to me. The use of flashin LEDs is clearly something that really reaches out to me, for some reason. I had to take a closer look. Whether their business methods are legit or not, I'm not questioning, but they sell mobile phones, offer unlocking services, sell chargers and bluetooth hands-free headsets, memory cards for your digital camera, and last but by no means least, FASCIAS! This made me smile, as I found myself drifting back to having my first Nokia, thinking it cool to whack a luminous tacky plastic cover on it to express my individuality! Fone Zone is a great thing to have. If you do end up ever needing your phone unlocked, just to know where your local 'phone unlocker' is, I deem, very useful!

The store does have steps to get in but there is also a small disabled ramp too so it has full wheelchair access. He came back in less than 5 minutes with my phone working perfectly. I was expecting to pay for a replacement part and installation and only paid of a clean. I spoke to them on the phone and was confident they could repair it for me so I drove the hour journey and they quickly repaired it saving me a fortune over a replacement. The second was another circuit board that this time had been damaged by a bad previous repair, this time I posted it to them again a prompt repair was carried out for a great price. Thanks guys
Yesterday I sold 2 mobile phones and was told the money would be in my bank by 12.00 the next day…read more The CeX site also states the same. On arriving home, I checked the receipt of goods ticket with both amounts totalling £0.00. I can only assume that the store have decided that I don't deserve the money for the items I sold. Should have sold on eBay. EDIT: further to the response from Cex. Both phones were immediately priced with the HTC U11 being labelled at £82.00 and put straight on the shelf for sale. I was told I would receive £46.50 for both phones. £5.00 was deducted per phone to add a charging lead. As I haven't received a penny for the phones, technically I still own them. I'll let any reader of this review draw their own conclusions re the ramifications of such actions.

At the risk of sounding like a penny pincher this is also another shop that its worth asking if a deal can be done with regards to price, maybe not if you are buying only one thing but if getting a whole new system or two TVs then I can say from personal experience don't just pay the ticket price. Stocks all the general electronics and accessories you'd expect, although it's a much smaller range. The reason it's only getting 3 stars is because I was well excited about Hot Steve having bought a fancy new Sony Bravia and he needed some HDMI and Optical cables, and we thought they'd be cheaper at Maplin but they really weren't. And on top of that I am a bit clueless and asked one of the staff (who was very old and I know that's incredibly un-PC but he was) about something and he was incredibly uppity and said 'well of COURSE that brand will be more expensive'. No, not 'of course'. I don't need to be patronised and made to look silly, thanks very much old-timer, you just lost Maplin's two stars. Incidentally, the HDMI cables were a fiver in the B&Q across the way, rather than £19.99 in Maplin, and the Optical cables were just over a tenner in there too. So there.

Well a while ago I took my PC in because it was overheating and kept shutting itself down and also the DVD wasn't working, they looked at it while I was there and said they could see the problem and had the part needed in stock. I asked if they had a slightly larger case for my PC as I had fitted a new power pack and could no longer fit the sit on, they had none in stock except for towers which were larger than I wanted but they found a secondhand one in the back and let me have that one. They fixed it and put it in the new case while I waited and charged very reasonably. While I was there I bought a set of headphones which were also a reasonable price. I like to use small businesses when I can and found DATA reasonable and run by a friendly couple. I am about to ring them for a quote on something else now and am sure I will use them again.
