Then he asked if he didn't cut off enough! He didn't check for straightness, and I had to show him that it wasn't even close. After that, NO I won't let you use a straight razor on me!!! The regular haircut was done in ~7 minutes, and I go to the register to find it's $20. Why is it so hard to find even a competent barber?

I told them 20 mins and they said to come. I got there 20 minutes later, walk in to see a bunch of miserable looking people waiting. Nobody greets me so I just sit down. One of the 3 working barbers asks me what I'm doing from about 25 feet away. Told him I was there for a haircut. He then tells me they're closed. I explain that I had called in and was told to come. Mind you, all of this is done having to yell to one another from 25 feet away with a bunch of people overhearing. He then talks to another barber in Spanish for about 30 seconds for what seems like a disagreement and nobody says another word to me. I waited in there for another minute or so and then just walked out. If you're ever looking for a barbershop in the area to make you feel welcome, this is not your place. Unless you're a local or a regular, they will be sure to make you feel out of place. I found another place nearby called Omar's through a Google search and that experience could not have been any more different. Omar was incredibly hospitable and made me feel at home and that he appreciated my business. He gave a great haircut in a comfortable environment. 2 other people walked in during my haircut and they were both greeted heartily by Omar.

I just went to the Sport Clips location in Glastonbury, CT, because I had coupons for 'free'…read morehaircuts. These coupons are not free. Sport Clips collaborates with the American Red Cross. You can redeem your points- that you get through donating blood and platelets- for several things, including coupons at Sport Clips. Upon saying that I have coupons, the staff were cold. My cousin's haircuts were bad; one of them was left with a round hairline. At checkout, when I pressed 0$ for a tip the one with very short dirty blonde hair said "You're not tipping and you got a free haircut, not cool" IN FRONT OF MY LITTLE COUSINS. They kept repeating these things as we were walking out loudly saying things like 'not tipping on a free haircut' 'not cool' yelling at us that we're rude as we're walking out with two little boys. I wanted to ignore it, but I walked back in after my little cousins and my mother were out. I told the two old women, one who identified themself as Krissa? Krista? Something like that, the one with the super short dirty blonde hair, and the other one with long white hair and bad eyeliner who didn't identify herself, that they should be ashamed of themselves. "What the hell is wrong with you? You don't say things like that in front of kids". I told them to do a good job if they want a tip. I definitely insulted them, but I won't write swear words in case Google takes them down. However, I never threatened them. I clearly hurt their feelings, as Krista said she'd call the cops on me, and I welcomed her to do so, but of course, she didn't. Her last words to me as I was walking out were "You're too dumb to be that stupid"...good one, Krissa. Then about 20ish minutes later I received a call from 860-271-6665, a woman asking if I had just been at Sport Clips to which I said yes, she said "Did you call my girls c****" I said I did and she said "Come back so I can call the cops on you" and I said "Go ahead and call them you have my information" and she hung up. Of course, she refused to identify herself. I called back to see if it was a personal number or a store number- it was a personal number. When I called back, she kept repeating, "Why are you calling me? Did you get your free haircut?" several times. This was my first experience at a Sport Clips location, and I can say I am utterly disgusted. I can't believe my 7 and 10 year old cousins and my mother had to hear this type of behavior from two women who should know better. Why would you work somewhere that gives "free" haircuts if you're going to be such a bitch about it? Would we have gotten better service if not for the coupons? Was it because we're brown? So, for my first Sport Clips experience, we were mistreated for 1) having coupons, 2) not tipping for bad haircuts, and an employee who refused to identify themself got my phone number out of their sign-in system and used their personal phone to threaten me with police and taunt me.

A lot of my friends take their sons to the kiddie barber in Glastonbury, but I didn't want my son to be babied. He talks about Caleb and his fish and motorcycle and is so comfortable going there!
