I can tell you first hand that the priests at this parish care deeply for every single parishioner! I have seen all 3 of the priests have a major impact on the youth of St. Thomas! As far as the lady with the negative review, it should be taken down as she is, what we call Christers. They attend mass only on Christmas & Easter. Her ignorance is apparent. She more then exaggerated the message from that Priest. If she would have stayed to hear the REST OF THE STORY, she would have heard an impactful and sincere message about our political leaders and their stance on abortion. The leaders of this country are so afraid to speak out against abortion as they want EVERY vote! I don't attend church to be entertained, or to only hear what I deserve to hear. I attend mass because I crave The Eucharist, the teachings of the apostles, & the Word of Our Lord Jesus Christ. St Thomas is warm, welcoming, loving, and so generous to it's community! Once again, I saw first hand the amount of charity our parish delivers to both parishioners & non-parishioners. While I was away in another country, state or town, I missed St Thomas so badly! I would go online to find a homily from Sunday's Mass so I could watch & feel like I was still there. You won't find a more generous group of parishioners either!! It's an incredible community!

In…read moreDecember of 2022 I went for colonoscopy and was diagnosed with Colon Cancer that brought my world as I knew it to and end so I as a catholic reach out to God and attended this church that was recommended to me by dear friends. I fell in love the minute I walked in. It's beautiful and peaceful and very welcoming. I was blessed by the priest after the mass after telling him my diagnosis. January of 2023, I was in the hospital having my surgery to remove the cancer and part of the spleen it was attached to. I was hospitalized for 2 weeks because of complications and was sent home with an attached colostomy bag, and 5 weeks later, I was hospitalized to have it reversed and removed. I spent a week there and made beautiful kind friends with the nurses and doctors at NW. I'm cancer free due to their care and everyone prayers. I visited the church again this past Saturday to thank the priest for his blessing, and he kindly said, "I was just God's messanger, and you are a miracle child." I took that to heart because I've always preached to everyone to be kind, and here I was in front of this religious man telling me I'm a miracle. God bless him, my NW nurses, and my team of doctors, especially my surgeon Dr. Poilyn and Dr. Chang. Please go visit this church whether you are Catholic or not. It's open 24 hours every day, and it's a beautiful church. Also, it has a gift shop open on Saturday.

So what I think would be helpful would be to let you know that this church is biblically focused and the messages are founded in line by line scripture reading. That is to say that the teaching here is about His Word. For me, this is the best way for me to build my existing relationship with God, and I am grateful to have been led here. I recommend you watch some services online and see if this church is where God is calling you to. Also know that the Children's ministry is strong and active and my two kids enjoy attending. Lastly, the church is handling COVID in the best way possible... which is to respect everyone at their own level of comfort. Services have been outside, with social distancing and mask wearing when you're not at your seat. This could be a good place for you and your family, and if not, I pray God will lead you to a church you can connect to.

I have been attending St. Mary's parish for about 7 years now and pass about 3 different Catholic churches on my way to mass. I go OUT OF MY WAY to go to St. Mary's. The parish is diverse and welcoming. There are all kinds of people who attend this church. You can feel comfortable coming in with jeans and a t-shirt or coming in with a suit and tie. No one cares about what you're wearing or even if you're late. They are just happy you made it in to worship. The music is very nice and they have a professional choir director. She incorporates lots of different levels of talent into the services. I have never been a part of the choir, but feel that this would be a non-judgemental place. On Sunday nights they have a pianist who has a great voice. In the past 7 years, I have gotten to know the priests and some of the staff members. I did the marriage prep course and the RCIA program here. At one point, I didn't get warm fuzzies from someone in the office but they were certainly professional (and I had a strange request). They did a wonderful job for both the marriage prep and the RCIA program. I mean, they knock themselves out to make sure that you have a good experience. Another thing about St. Mary's that I appreciate is that they have never been the kind of parish to pressure you into giving more. They are respectful and are stable with their finances. There was once a drive to redo the windows and it was done with grace. I enjoyed seeing the stained glass windows repaired. I don't have any comments for the school, but I know several families whose children have gone there and had a positive experience. The children went on to attend top-notch schools. If I had to describe St. Mary's in one word, it would be "welcoming." We have made so many friends here and they supported us during hard times and joined in on the celebration of happy times.
