Ok folks this is really a five star review! It is a review of their special "Sing We Now Of…read moreChristmas" program held every year. Fellow Yelper, friend, and Scotsman, Max M. invited me and my bride to this event. I had never heard of it. We found ample parking and when we went in the place was so beautiful! All decorated so wonderfully for the holidays. We just enjoyed the quiet as folks started to come in and we needed this quiet time for sure.We saw max and his friend and greeted each other took our seats and we were off to an evening of amazement! It started with the organ improvisation while the choir processed and the strings were getting set up. The the choir started to sing!!! Wow! They were singing some old hymns that were 400 years old and doing a great job. They sang six songs and then the congregation joined in singing the First Noel. With women and children doing one part and the men another. So nice. Then it happened: this 17 year old piano prodigy came forward and played Piano Concerto No, 1 in E Minor, op, 11 A Chopin piece from 1830. She played with the string section. It was like something from another time! This young lady was amazing! Here talent and the music filled the room! It was a highlight of the evening. Afterwards the choir sang six more songs. It was during this time of the evening my wife leaned over to me and said, that this must be what it sounds like in heaven for Taylor. Taylor is our nephew who was murder this year and this holiday is tough because of it. Well we didn't have any dry eyes thinking of that as the music and singing soared! The finish of the evening was another congregational singing of O Come All Ye Faithful. It seemed like everyone was singing at the top of their lungs and from what I could see joy was on their faces. Once again a special thanks to Max M.for the invite. Jackie and I both agree that this was one of the best presents we received this year. We do appreciate it Max. More than you can imagine. I encourage folks if your looking for a place of worship in downtown head on over! As I always do I end my reviews with a bit about the restrooms! Super clean and bright and located in the building next door! May you all have a blessed holiday season!

From the moment we met Ronnie, founder and licensed Charleston tour guide, we knew we were in for…read moresomething exceptional. His passion for Charleston's Jewish history and broader narrative of the city is truly remarkable. Personalized, immersive, and deeply thoughtful, that's how I'd describe the entire experience. Ronnie offered a private, customized tour that wove together vibrant storytelling with Charleston's layered past. He brought to life stories of privateers, Revolutionary patriots, merchants, community builders, and even the challenging and complex roles of Jewish individuals in the slave economy and Civil War. His approach was respectful, honest, and profoundly insightful. We loved the thoughtful touches: complimentary snacks and water, seamless door-to-door service in a premium SUV, and all entry fees included -- making every part of the tour feel effortless and enjoyable. Ronnie's storytelling went beyond guidebook facts. His knowledge, warmth, and ability to layer various perspectives made the history feel lived-in and deeply human. Plus, knowing that part of the tour proceeds support Jewish preservation efforts in the city--through partnerships with the Charleston Jewish Federation--just added to the meaningfulness of the experience. Whether you're a lifelong Charleston lover or new to its rich tapestry, Charleston Jewish Tours is a must-do. And bringing along Ronnie as your guide ensures you'll come away informed, inspired, and connected to the soul of this city.
