I don't live too far from The King William (King Bill as it's known) and it's really nice to have on your doorstep. Food is nice here and better than your average pub-grub, and it also has some decent ales on tap from a local micro brewery (I'll get the name next time). I had the Cajun Chicken Sandwich which was very well cooked and had a nice little kick to it. That was served with Chips, that were average, nothing to shout about but enough to fill the hole. My Dad had the Chilli Burger with Chips and by all accounts that was fantastic! I'd want to give the place a 5 star glowing reference, however with the lack of Wifi, in 2015, I can't give it full marks - give BT a call and get some wifi, then I'll review again!

Staff are great, the location offers comfort indoors & an outside terrace if you prefer views over the nearby countryside. Good food and drink choice. I had half a Perroni and their chilli burger. Just enough heat in the quality meat burger and nice fat chips on the side. All served in good time so that I was back at work within the hour. Will be back soon I hope!

They have a huge range of beers, ranging from their own cask ales, to some rather interesting craft bottles which different fruity flavours. The last time I visited was over Christmas so they had 2 different types of hot cider on. I opted for the Mulled Cider and it was absolutely spot on after getting in from the nippy Bolton weather. Don't expect fancy decor and modern interior, Bank Top is a traditional Bolton pub and I personally think that makes it better. It's not a fancy Gastro-Pub, it's an old school boozer with top quality local beer!

There's a great mix of Bank Top's own ales, such as the firm favourite 'Flat Cap', as well as newer additions such as 'Gold Digger' (which has a very amusing tale behind it which should only be told by the patrons and bar staff of the pub) as well as some great guest ales. It is out of town, but definitely worth a visit - a taxi from Bolton town centre should cost around £4. When a pair of fine ales cost less than that, it is well worth going along. Bank Top is Bolton's local brewer and was set up in the '90s in an old (and very handsome) tennis pavillion. Trivia fans will be pleased to know that the first pint ever poured at the brewery was by Bill Tarmey who of course played Rover's Return landlord, Jack Duckworth. The pub itself is very homely and will look better when it ages slightly (it is still a bit neat, but that's a very very small gripe). There's also a decent sized beer garden which is great on balmy days. It really is a fantastic pub and well worth the trip.

The Flag is in a great location in Bromley Cross and provides you with a good mix of local craft ale and your favourite big brands. It also has a nice mix of punters, not just the young crowd or the old men, but a good blend of young and old stopping in to enjoy the live sports on TV or live music on a Saturday night. They also serve food and have a decent menu serving your usual pub grub. Most meals come with a deal option in which you can add a pint of lager or a soft drink for an extra £1.50. There is nothing elaborate about the pub in general but it's an old favourite for a nice pint with friends. Landlord is always about the place and a friendly chap, and prices won't see you out of pocket!

Several large television screens dotted around the pretty small, cosy pub make it almost impossible for you not to watch the match. The selection of beers is the best in the area, the only possible omission is Peroni on draught but now I am being picky. The prices are probably below par for pubs in the local area which is probably something to do with the popularity. If you like your space and to sit down in the pub this probably isn't your place on a Friday or Saturday night as it gets very busy and seats are almost impossible to find. However if you're not that bothered about that like me then there's nothing to worry about!

There is no craft ales to my knowledge, which can be fine as I love a good brand lager and could happily drink cold San Miguel all night long (which I do, too often) however for your more renowned beer lover - a bigger selection would be needed. Now, how can Grappa get to 4 stars or higher? Let me try the food! They are an Italian restaurant after all and so it only seems fair that the final judgement will come after I've tasted some pizza, pasta or similar! Atmosphere in here is good, especially on a Thursday night where it seems to be the it place to go in Bolton, albeit that is not saying much, but you do tend to get an alright mix of people in here. I'll often bump into friends, family and friends of the family, so its not just bustling with kids drinking WKD's! If you're in and around the area, Grappa is probably your best shot for a drink later on at night. Early in the evening there are better options for pub grub, however if you want a tasty Italian, try Grappa - and let me know how the food is!

There's always a good atmosphere in the place particularly on a Thursday evening when they do 2-4-1 on cocktails. It's a good place to have drinks on a Friday/Saturday evening before seeing where the night takes you (normally town...). The only down side is that there isn't much seating inside for drinkers as the restaurant takes up quite large proportion of the floor space. Patio heaters & plenty of seating outside make it a great place to enjoy a couple of cold ones on a warm sunny afternoon.

It's a really nice place and the food is good - I had Tagliatelle Della Casa which in their words is ribbon pasta cooked with chicken, ham and peas in tomato cream sauce - all I know is it was very tasty. If I'm being picky there could have been a higher chicken to pasta ratio but none the less a great dish. I came with my family for my brothers birthday and each enjoyed their dish; my dad had Linguine Con Gamberoni - prawns and scallops with linguine, my mum a Risotto and the little brother a pizza - everything spot on! In a decent spot for a date night, a family me as I did, or somewhere to grab a quick meal before a night out as there are several nice pubs nearby. It's not setting the world alight, but with an extensive menu, competitive prices and good quality food, Ericos is a solid bet.

I didn't think the food was amazing and the large menu includes some random dishes e.g. Mexican that make it pretty obvious they are not trying to be an authentic trattoria etc. Nevertheless, the garlic bread with tomato was fine and although I didn't like the slight sour sauce on our prawns very much, they were at least good-sized ones. Overall though, that starter is not good value at over £7 for 4 prawns. For my main I got cannelloni which wasn't greatly above supermarket ready meal standard but you can't go too wrong with meat, melted cheese and tomato. My bf's mum had ravioli which was served on a massive plate covered in orange sauce - I thought it looked like it had way too much sauce and also the colour was weird. However, she ate it all so it can't have been that bad! Boyfriend's pizza looked ok but due to his hangover he didn't even get through half!
