I don't know where I would be without Linda and the Chicago New Moms Group. It was such a necessary support system during the most vulnerable time of my life. I learned how to be a mom in public with a newborn without judgement. I have a wonderful network of moms that I ask every question to, all of which are going through the exact same stages with their baby. Really thankful for this group as a first time mom! Having my first child has been a big learning curve--so many feelings and worries that no one really prepares you for. People don't often talk openly about the challenges of parenthood, which can feel isolating. The moms' group was truly invaluable. I realized that many other first-time moms feel the same way I do, and that sense of community was incredibly reassuring. If you have a baby under six months, join this group!! It's a great way to get out of the house and meet new other moms going through the same thing as you. Linda is a master facilitator. As a mom herself, she knows what you've gone through, and has clearly helped so many parents navigate the challenges of raising young babies in those early days when you're second guessing everything. I did the second time group (and wish I had done the first!), and learned so much from listening to other moms navigate some of the same challenges I was experiencing. The Chicago New Moms group was exactly what I needed, when I needed it. Over the course of six weeks, I learned so much from Linda and through her master facilitation of our group, and I forged meaningful and lasting relationships with the other moms in the cohort. I was really looking to meet people in the same stage of life that I was in, and I got all of that and more. Our group has remained close and regularly gets together, and now we include the dads! I'm a two-time participant in Linda's group, having just finished the session for second-time moms. I wondered if it would be worth it this time around, since I'm a more experienced parent and because I live in the suburbs now and so the promise of meeting other moms with babies my age for playdate purposes isn't really relevant. My gut told me it would still be really helpful, and it was! So great to have conversations with others going through the unique challenges of caring for a toddler and a newborn, and to get a refresher on things like sleep, pumping, etc. that I blocked out after round 1. I really appreciate how Linda is ready to offer validation, data-backed advice, and referrals if needed, but really lets other moms lead by sharing their experiences, tips and tricks, etc. I can now recommend this to all first- and second-time moms! read more

This was the perfect group to do during my maternity leave. Linda offers both a first time mom group and second time moms. During covid it has been especially easy to feel isolated as a new mom. This group is the perfect hybrid of support group and education. Each week covers a different topic ( sleep, going back to work, relationships etc.) but there is plenty of time to check in and share how your week is going. I found that even over zoom it was easy to connect with the other moms and their triumphs and struggles. Everyone was incredibly supportive and kind. We all talked about how much we looked forward to the group each week. In fact, we loved it so much that we are going to continue to connect each week even though the group is officially over. I can imagine it's even better in person. My only complaint is that I wish it were longer :) read more

The Chicago New Moms group was a lifeline for me in the early months of motherhood! It was so refreshing to meet moms and babies who were at the same stage as us. I've developed friendships I know will last a lifetime for both my son and I. Linda is so incredibly knowledgeable and always willing to answer even the craziest of questions. In particular her advice and validation on sleep development made me so much more confident as a mom. I thought we were doing something wrong that was leading to our son not sleeping. I would recommend this group to any new Mothers out there! Until you're in it, you don't realize how invaluable it is to have a cohort of people going through the same thing at the same time! Linda does an amazing job moderating each session. She has a knack for getting the conversation started amongst everyone, and then naturally transitioning to the group members chiming in and sharing what's going on and any new relevant topics that week. Linda creates a non-judgmental atmosphere, and a clear safe space for everyone, which I believe brought all of us closer together even though we hadn't met in person and only initially interacted virtually. This 6 week program was such a great way to connect with other moms going through the exact same things at the same time. I absolutely loved this group! I started when my daughter was 6 weeks old and I was still really nervous to leave the house with the baby, breastfeed in public, etc. The group gave me something to look forward to each week and was great practice for getting out and about with a newborn! I drove with my daughter for the first time to get to this group, breastfed outside of my house for the first time, and connected with other new moms who were going through the same challenges I was (which was so reassuring!).
