Today, April 26, is the 14 year anniversary of The Cigar Room. There is a celebration party starting at 0900 and ending at midnight. There are many vendors, lots of prizes, freebies, free food and drinks. A 25% discount is given for everything. If you already receive a discount for military service, you cannot add that percentage to the 25%. The max discount is 25% today and that is a deal. I saw $16 cigars going for $12 and people picking them up at 0930. There are several vendors there handing out cigars and other merchandise. Do not come if you cannot tolerate cigar smoke!!! 9 out of 10 people are smoking cigars walking all through the store and outside. It's smoky!!! I was inside for 5 minutes and I smell like a cigar. This place has a great selection of cigars in a huge humidor. I particularly liked the fact that they carry GTO cigars, a local favorite based out of Montgomery, Alabama. My one complaint is that it can get a bit smoky. They do need a better ventilation system. I would also like if they had a bar, but you can run next door and grab a beer and bring it in. All in all, I would recommend this establishment. Great prices, great cigars, and great people. read more

I have been a customer of the cigar room in Madison for several years and it just dawned on me that I have not left a review, so away I go.. I travel often and when out of town I go and visit a local cigar shop. Like anything else some are good and some not so good. Donald and his staff are amazing. Unlike so many there are no membership or other rules that apply to relaxing in one of the three lounges. I guess it goes without saying that you should buy your cigar there if using the lounge but I have never seen anyone turned away like I have experienced elsewhere. If you have questions about cigars they are the folks to ask. It is always a very relaxing atmosphere and the service is always friendly. If you are looking for a cigar shop with good prices, a huge selection, and a good place to sit back, relax, and converse with a great bunch of guys look no further. I have been to the Schols location it is very nice also and I look forward to visiting the shop on Guntersville lake. Went in today, Saturday, after work to pick up some cigars for my dad and I. The humidor is by far the largest I've shopped in Alabama, and I was left alone to peruse the huge selection- this was so appreciated. While the clientele shopping alongside me seemed a little confused by my presence, staff was the total opposite. I wish I had caught the man's name who was running the shop today- so helpful, kind, and personable. (Flannel shirt, black? hat, drinking a beer from next door- shout out to you!) After finding out this was my first trip in, he offered to give me a tour of their space and was so genuine in making clear that the business welcomes females into this typically male-dominated atmosphere. Since I'm new to the Madison Alabama area, I am relying on Yelp now more than ever to assist me in finding the best places to do business with. This brings me to The Cigar Room, where reviews here on Yelp led me to. First impressions: The store front is deceptive. It looks like it could be a small shop. Believe me it's comfortably spacious with several rooms, including a billiards table. A few men nearby were playing what looked like backgammon. In another room there were comfortable looking chairs, where you can relax with your favorite cigar! Back to the front of the building there is an extensive three isle walk-in humidor the selection is as good as any and better than most cigar shops I've been to. Clearly this is the place to not only find premium cigars. It's also a place to relax, meet others and enjoy a fine cigar. 5 stars! read more

I didn't know what type of cigar I wanted, so the knowledgeable staff member talked me through what I thought I might want and made some suggestions. He was spot on with the selection. I love the selection of cigars this place offers, but they need to get better ventilation system so your eyes don't water from the smoke. Another short fall is the establishment could use a better hemidor, a couple times I bought cigars and the were dried out. Military friendly establishment that offers 10% discount, and they offer a cigar punch card where every 13th cigar is free. read more

I saw the sign as I passed by on my way out of town & stopped in to get a cigar for the road. This is a newer business in a strip shopping center right beside a sports bar. They have a very nice selection of major brand cigars. They have priced their cigars extremely well. I think they probable average about $1 per stick lower than most places. They have an impressive smoking lounge in the back part of the shop. It is a LOT larger than one would think from looking at the front of the store. Lots of seating, 3 big screen tvs, game table, fridge w/honor system pay for drinks. Owners/operators are very friendly. This will definately be a stop on my next trip to Huntsville! read more

Kudos to the knowledgable and friendly staff for making The Cigar Room the best place to enjoy a fine cigar in North Alabama. They have a large well stocked humidor and carry almost every major brand as well several great boutique cigars. The lounge area is open to all customers and features plenty of big screen TV's and comfortable leather seating. If a shop can be judged by it's clientele then this one needs a sixth star. Found this pace on the cigar app. This is my go to place. The only issue, they dont sell My Father. Other than that, you will find one of the biggest humidors next to Casa in Nashville. You will love with this shop. There is also a store in Florence, AL. The Madison store is perched upon a hill in a strip of stores with ample parking. "What's the key to a successful business?" "Location, location, location!" The Waddells (owners) must have planned this layout for The Cigar Room. With the The Cigar Room in the center, this strip functions as a huge man-cave. Right next door from CR is, Wish You Were Beer with a great selection, "Our goal at Wish You Were Beer is to take craft beer culture to the next level in North Alabama." You can order food at "Sidelines Pub & Grub," or from "Pho 89" vietnamese and not miss a play, at bat, shot of the game or minute of conversation. Ok if you're reading this from afar, know that, it's allll about football in these parts. There is also a pool hall... a spa and a tanning salon in the strip, I'm just sayin.' CR is not the "He Man Woman Hater's Club" of yesteryear so don't be surprised to see woman here frequently.. Yes brothers and sisters, it's all about lovely, curvaceous, supple, good smelling, CIGARS. It's the first time I've seen this gender mix among the Huntsville shops, refreshing. Five percent of all Americans smoke cigars, 8.2% of men and 2.0% of women smoke cigars. There are two front entrances to the store which CR uses to its advantage to carve out an outdoor smoking area between them. Sit down relax take in some sun and your favorite stick. Entering through one door you are greeted by yet another smoking area with a tv on the wall, seats about seven and you're not even to the smoking room yet.. If someone is sitting there you're assured a warm hello, of course this is Alabama, so have a seat. You may not know each other when you walk in but walking out is another story. Among the different areas of the store offering cigars is a well maintained well stocked walk in humidor. According to their website if they don't have what ya want they'll order it, but did I mention well stocked? Moving from the front of the house retail section next there is a game room with chairs and tables, a pool table and video games like golf and big game hunting and a pinball machine. Raise your hand if you've ever even seen a pinball machine. Anyone? Anyone? I think I spied a dart board too. But wait there's more! In the third section of the establishment are couches, overstuffed chairs, bar tables, ottomans, card tables, a kitchenette, refrigerator and in the rear personal lockers for the heavy hittin regular byob aficionados. Of course what they really keep in there are torches and cutters.. Three of the walls are adorned with 4 flat screen tv's.. . with remotes. Meeting the fellas to talk sports, ladies still stuck on how to finish that 67 Toyota Century? Just throw your 12 pack or case of champagne in the fridge. I've visited several times making sure to visit at different times. It has always been relaxing with consistent friendly knowledgeable service and a rich diversity of smokers, racial diversity, economic diversity, hell, I'm a yankee who took a wrong turn at Cleveland. Used to love this place and visited often. Then, the owner had a former employee get in his head about me, told him some pretty outrageous lies about me and some of my friends. Not going to stand for it. A phone call from the owner to those who were wronged would've fixed everything but I'm pretty sure, at this point, there is no interest in that. My personal experience will most likely not be yours and it is a good shop with a great selection and usually a good atmosphere. The shop in Florence has Donnie Muse and Leslie Russell who are 2 outstanding individuals but they can't fix everything. But my experience is less than two stars. Cigar selection great. I have been going here since they opened. I have never really felt welcome here. I find it unusual that I never get greeted when I walk in the door and I am the one to say "Thanks" at the end of the transaction (at least when there are females working the cash register). The only help I have been offered is to sell me a more expensive cigar than the 6 or 7$ ones I usually buy. read more
